Would they release the lead single so long before that? There are all these rumours of it being a "surprise" release so I imagine the lead single would be released at a date much closer to the release of the full album. Also, would they release the lead single so long after filming? I'm sure they were aware that Adele was releasing her new album around this time but they went ahead with filming in September knowing it would generate hype...I believe we'll see the new album by the end of the year.

Is Coldplay willing to do a surprise release like Beyonce and Adele? I've read many posts on this thread of people saying that "Coldplay has never been this quiet in an era before" or something of the similar. Based on this, and based on rumours, it is fair to say that they would want to do a surprise release. For them to do the surprise release, the quality of the album and the music video single filmed in India must be excellent. Or at least it's excellent in their view. A surprise 360 degree, virtual-reality music video would be an excellent surprise, no? I think Adele announced she is releasing her new album, "25", 3 weeks after her first single "Hello" was just released 3 days ago. Assuming that Coldplay does something similar to Adele and we're going by a first week of December release date, then we can expect the new music video between the 6th to the 20th November. Would Adele's "25" sales truly have a significant effect on Coldplay's album sales? In my opinion, no. It would have an effect but it wouldn't be significant enough to justify having to push your album release date forward by 1-3 months. The Adele and Coldplay fan-base are two very different groups of people, I don't think this is the issue. I believe that this is going to be a surprise release. Think to yourself that you will be surprised. The band has given us very little information for a reason. Rumours are flying around all over the internet for a reason. A Head Full of Dreams is close. This is just cautiously-optimistic speculation though :laugh3:

He is currently specialising in virtual reality filming. (Brinton Byran on set during filming in India - he's the guy in the middle who isn't covered in paints) We already know that Coldplay has had experiences in the past of meddling with virtual reality (as shown in the video below). [video=youtube;hdo6jqFDMQw] Virtual Reality is 100% something that Coldplay is interested in. We also now know that the MTV EMA's will be streamed in virtual reality. Coincidence? I think not! ;) All the rumours have been pointing towards an October release date for this music video. If it's not streamed during the MTV EMA's, I'm still confident that the music video will be 360 degrees, virtual-reality. I think that the music video is going to be available in 360 degrees on YouTube. I remember reading something about the director of the music video filmed in India having done work on 360 degree videos in the past. Having just seen the news that this years MTV EMA's (which Coldplay has been nominated for an award in) will be streaming in 360 degrees, virtual-reality, it's possible that the music video could be released before then and replayed on the stream or it could debut there. If the video was filmed for 360 degree viewing, it may explain why it's taking so long for it to be released after the filming in India. Just a theory though.

"There are at least 5 or 6 hymns for Martin to sing in stadiums" I don't think this is a very reliable source but thought I may as well mention it. They think the release date for the full album is in the 1st week of December.
