Apparently we're going to hear a "different" version of Adventure of a Lifetime...

Personal comparisons: True Love - 1 / 10 The Scientist/Viva la Vida - 10 / 10 1. A Head Full of Dreams ( 7 / 10 ) The song has a great beat and it's the perfect way to start the album. It's got awesome lyrics however it's been over-produced and my perception of the song has changed since hearing it live. I know it will be a good set opener for the tour. 2. Birds ( 9.5 / 10 ) This song has to be my favourite from the MX/GS/AHFOD trilogy. The pace, the guitar and the artistic feel it has is superb. It's the closest Coldplay returns to their roots on this album. The abrupt ending is a creative method to flow straight into the next song... 3. Hymn for the Weekend ( 8 / 10 ) I was unsure about this song when hearing the 10 second snippet. Having listened to this, I can say I am pleasantly surprised. I love that cow-bell and the changes between the chorus and verses; it's certainly different compared to songs we hear on the radio. It's a good different. 4. Everglow ( 7 / 10 ) I enjoy the ideas presented in the lyrics about this lasting impression someone can have on you ("an Everglow"). But the melody is quite average and isn't going down any new directions. 5. Adventure of a Lifetime ( 7.5 / 10 ) I like the riffs and the beat AOAL has. I'm not really into disco but Coldplay has a way of making any genre sound at least decent! The lyrics aren't amazing. 6. Fun ( 8 / 10 ) The duet between Chris and Tove Lo is fantastic. Their voices fit together to create a song that is more touching than most songs in the MX/GS/AHFOD trilogy. The only downside is that some of the lyrics are cheesy. 7. Kaleidoscope ( 5 / 10 ) I like the poem. It's sweet. However, there's little flow in the transition from the end of Fun to the classical piano sound leading into the poem recital. The transition to Army of One though, however, is semi-decent. This is nothing more than what Chris wanted to put on the album for himself. 8. Army of One ( 6.5 / 10 ) It's a decent pop song. There's too much auto-tune but there are some of the better lyrics on here (e.g "my heart is my gun") from the whole album. For a pop song, it's good. For me, not so much. 8.5. X Marks the Spot ( 2 / 10 ) I'm going to exclude this from my overall view of the album just because it's an anomaly. The lyrics are the opposite of creative. Horrendous. 9. Amazing Day ( 8.5 / 10 ) Amazing Day has an awesome bass line and the lyrics reach out to me. The melody is sweet and it's peaceful. For what the song was set out to do, Coldplay have done an excellent job. 10. Colour Spectrum ( 5 / 10) Not much to say. I like it's a kind of summary of the album up till that point which leads nicely into Up&Up. 11. Up&Up ( 9 / 10 ) This is an outstanding album closer and potentially the final song we'll hear from Coldplay for a while. Two guitar solos from two of my favourite bands guitarists with backing vocals from Beyonce as well. The lyrics make me feel that this song is a culmination of the MX/GS/AHFOD trilogy. The lyrics give me goosebumps, especially when Chris sings "don't ever give up". Overall: 7.5 / 10 If you haven't listened to the album before, I recommend: Birds, Up&Up, Fun, Amazing Day and Hymn for the Weekend. I previously gave the album an overall of 6.7 but it’s growing on me. I can’t wait to see them on tour! 1. AROBTTH 2. VLV 3. MX 4. AHFOD 5. X&Y 6. Parachutes 7. GS

It's really strange though that we're not getting any hype build around this "new record"... Surely it can't be HFTW if there's no hype? Perhaps it's a smaller song like Everglow?

Rumours for a new song to debut and hardly any posts! Is someone going to record this?

I really hope Army of One is upbeat. Otherwise all the songs after AOAL are kind of slow (from what we've heard).

6 songs left so 6 more hours I guess. I'm unsure how the style of HFTW will fit in with the style of the music video in India. It'll be interesting. The song doesn't sound colourful like AOAL, AHFOD or Up&Up sound. But the song could turn out to sound a lot different! We know AOAL doesn't just sound like the snippet they just posted. :)

Remember when we heard AOAL snippets and everyone was like "omg it sounds like Viva days" and it turned out to be disco? Try not to judge HFTW until we hear the full thing :) (although tbh idk how it could be much more different than this) This makes me wonder...WHICH SONG DOES THE INDIA MUSIC VIDEO BELONG TO?!

I don't know how I feel about AHFOD's studio version.. seems like there's a bit too much going on for me; if you get what I mean. Will wait for the full song before judging fully ;D I'm so excited!!

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams" (DEC 4TH - Tracklisting in first post) Jamesfish bro, everyone is entitled to their opinions and stuff, but we dislike posts that are guesses and "feelings". Especially when in excess. If you've got evidence to suggest what you say is true, even if it's crappy evidence, then go ahead and post as many long shot theories to your hearts content! :)
