  1. Of course I don't know of this till a couple days later... Oh well. Hopefully I'll catch this one. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Coldplaying mobile app
  2. I'm not sure about iOS. I do know it is available on Android however, since this morning on my phone when I came on to the site a message popped up saying I can install the app again. :) I still would have had the old version had I not dropped my phone and broke the screen (twice, then we just got a new phone). Not sure how to transfer apps from phone to phone, both screens need to be on and I had to guess where to press on the broken screen but I just couldn't. For automatically transferring them through some program on computer I couldn't find a good one without having to pay money... Oh well. At least once again I have the app :)
  3. I completely forgot about it till Sunday evening. Shame on me :P
  4. This is a much better and more fair comparison, thank you. Your point is much clearer now, even though I like both songs, I'll openly admit one is much more inspired, unique, and artistic then the other... I agree. Too bad Stargate had to get involved and completely wreck the studio version. It feels like there's too many tracks at some points and not enough in others, and this song seems to want to take off but just doesn't due to it. Easily the worst produced Coldplay song. The live debut showcases the right version of the song: proper piano, electronic drums where appropriate, and real instruments in the chorus to create an otherworldly epic feel. Perfection. That is what the song should have been and when I listen to this song this is the version. Every time.
  5. This is epic to hear. Such a good read. Go Coldplay go!
  6. Yayyy the app is back! Thanks everyone! Would like the Multi quote feature though (or is that somehow implemented in a way I haven't discovered yet? I've only had it for about 15 minutes lol) Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Coldplaying mobile app
  7. Sorry but this isn't the most accurate, picking the worst song from the newest album on purpose to make Coldplay seem worse then they overall actually are isn't a accurate comparison. Unless Coldplay go full blown hip hop XMTS will remain a one time thing. It was something they tried just for fun. Should it have made the album? No. Maybe a B side? I'd be okay with that (oh wait... No one seems to believe in that anymore :() I agree that it isn't the best of songs they've done and it really ruins the flow of the album (to be honest the track list choice is questionable before that even, but putting it before Amazing Day makes zero sense whatsoever) it's one I skip and don't have on my favorites list. But it simply isn't what Coldplay are today. I know it wouldn't make sense to attempt to make fun of the band by comparing the other song with Birds since that is a better choice but I guess the title track represents very well who they actually are now unlike XMTS. Just my opinion here, on your comparison. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Coldplaying mobile app
  8. Ohh I see. Yeah that's very unfortunate, to bad that most people including Chris don't know that... If he knew that he wouldn't be supporting that guy. So many things that most people don't know, the system is so corrupt more then a lot of people think... Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Coldplaying mobile app
  9. Hey, I missed it to, if I don't forget this time I'll do it too (btw I don't think I would have anyway, that 10am time would have been 8am here which is much too early for me to get up on a weekend :P) Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Coldplaying mobile app

  11. Hmm..... There's something about snow and winter and Christmastime yet being cozy and warm in your house that gives it that special vibe.... I love the summer too but without winter Christmas just wouldn't be the same. :P Woahhhh... @ 1:22 everyone... That's sweet. Not sure modern day Coldplay would do that. Also, look how focused he is and the effort he's putting into the performance.. No doubt today's Coldplay concerts are fun but he's jumping all over the place and out of breath, and as a result the performance isn't as good... At least he doesn't lip sync lol :P (or apparently he does on Clocks at some parts I've been told...) I guess it just wouldn't be the same though no matter what. Of course the newer songs are energetic so he'll jump around and stuff, back in the day when they did more low key songs there wouldn't be any reason to jump around on stage... Oh well. Still an amazing time you'll have there :)
  12. Wow, that looks sweet. The look of the forum itself look quite "aged" compared to now. :P Too bad that site doesn't allow you to see how busy the forum actually was.... oh how much I would have loved to have been a fan back in that day... Huh?!! I can see you not liking their recent music but I don't know how you can say this.. Coldplay has only been getting better with each era in terms of what they actually stand up for, now they're going this Global Citizen stuff and raising awareness about that kind of stuff, while spreading only love and compassion. It couldn't be better. Anything you have against that? Hm, I actually like that song but I can still agree with you. 24K Magic is one of those repetitive pop songs that doesn't have any sort of real meaning but is fun and catchy. I actually don't like most songs of that type but this is probably my favorite song that fits within that category, suirprisingly seeing as it was made in 2016, and I find a lot of music across all genres to be better back in the day then now. I actually find Bruno Mars relatively underrated on these forums, he's made quite a few really good songs, and I know he's mainly pop but to me he just does it really well. That being said I don't like this one as much as some of his earlier stuff but still.
  13. Hey I missed the last one, would be glad to take part in this one? When's it happening so far?
  14. How to make a masterpiece out of a relatively common chord progression: WOW. Easily one of the best songs ever written. Popular, no. Extremely powerful and a hidden gem? Yes.
  15. Hey, the emojis are back! Great to see! :) (Hopefully these are just temporary though, and I think they are since there isn't a lot of them.... I vastly prefer the original emojis... Oh well, better than those glitched things that popped up before today... :)) I had a thought: What would a Coldplayer from between the AROBTTH and X&Y eras think if they saw a small section of a video from today of a party where HFTW was playing? But they wouldn't know unless they could pick up on CM's voice or seen the song title really small somewhere along with artist name. I know it's impossible but it's fun to think of these things... For the older Coldplayers they've gradually been brought into a more mainstream sound to Coldplay, so even though some people still hate them for that it still wouldn't be as bad as some freak occurence just like what I mentioned. Honestly I would pay so much money to see their reactions after watching the video and being told that's what Coldplay would sound like in a little over a decade LOL
  16. Ohhhhhh seriously... I so wish I was around here and a Coldplay fan during the lead up to MX... I would have been so excited... and unlike quite a few extremely pleased with the result... Too sad to hear the site went offline and lots of fans were lost because of it... Coldplaying is still a massive community but from these posts and others it doesn't seem like it was as big as it used to... Oh well. Things have their peaks. It gotta cool down someday :( 100 pages? *looks at current thread page count* EDIT: Yasssssss!!!!!! The emoji's are back! (They don't look anywhere near as good as the original emojis though.... :()
  17. This thread died rather quickly.... Hopefully @nvdmm revive it now :D

  19. Thank you :) Please note that I am feeling very well now. It's just that from time to time I think about it and cry. Please don't take it like I'm sad all the time. I'm sure you know this, but, just making sure. I've heard this song many times in the past and I love it, it's so beautiful and heartfelt and does the trick just like the one I posted even without lyrics! Too bad that lots of people use it nowadays in jokeful-sad situation and it's just about turned into a meme... (thankfully I manage to avoid it since I never really see it used a lot, only seen it a few times, but other people say it's used all the time, soo...) Well you're not alone, I personally think music like that is severely underrated and I love the remix of it. I might combine this remix at the end of the original to do a sort of "Studio Live Version" someday... YAS!!!!! This!! If any album deserves to beat AHFOD it's this one. I dare say that I even like it better than Coldplay's album! I am in extreme disbelief that this got popular at all considering the heartfelt beauty and overall melancholy of it. Typically stuff like that doesn't get popular nowadays outside of it being taken lightly in memes (sadly Hello got wayyyyyyyy too big for it's own good, and whilie I still like it it just doesn't have that same magic that some of the other songs in the album do. I am very surprised it got to a billion views and smashed the record for getting there time wise.) Even the poppier songs from the album (Send My Love, Water Under The Bridge) are great and highlight what I would love to see from mainstream pop music moving forward. Despite their electronic elements they sound organic and natural to an extent and certainly wayyyyyyyyyy more stripped down than a lot of modern day electropop songs. The vocal doesn't sound insanely annoying like in some, and they're greatly produced. Overall, an extraordinarily outstanding album here by Adele. So glad that a lot of people still know what stripped down, great music is. I believe her hits from 21 (Rolling in the Deep, Rumour Has It, Set Fire To The Rain, Someone Like You) really made her extremely famous around the world and was able to bring everyone's attention to this masterpiece we got just last year. What an artist, she is great at making music and unlike too many artists nowadays does it in an honest, genuine and respectable manner. It's one thing to make songs like she does, but if you're able to get a mainstream pop crowd to buy it and break records you can pretty much say you are a god and can do anything because that's one of the hardest feats to do, when all they seem to like is "music" that sells only because of sexual appeal and being catchy. Which is so uninspired and unoriginal, that's been done too many times... can't believe until now they haven't gotten bored of it! Adele is part of a special few who can sell music for how it sounds, how beautiful it is, the actual songs themselves. Great job, I know I've gone on this too long so other than my favorite songs from the album I'll list in order this is it! 1. All I Ask 2. Million Years Ago 3. When We Were Young 4. Sweetest Devotion 5. Remedy 6. Love in the Dark 7. Water Under The Bridge 8. Hello 9. I Miss You 10. River Lea 11. Send My Love (To Your New Lover)

This is amazing. What a complete shift in the style away from the extremely colorful and relatively poppy AHFOD with lots of production and layers to a black and white video featuring an unpoppified version of a song from an album (they release that as the single?!? I would have expected this to be the normal version and the album version to be the single version, because that would be the way it is in most cases... Hats off to Coldplay for not poppifying the song even more) featuring two tracks: the piano and a voice. (yes there's the guitar kinda thing where there was in the album, but still) Heck, most bands don't even go that stripped down, but Coldplay with their latest album release would be one of my last picks to suddenly release a song (or a version of a song) that literally performs magic with two tracks. Not only that, but they take it one step further by making it sound like a live performance (without the crowd obviously). It was probably a live performance. No, his voice isn't absolutely perfect. But that really only adds to the beauty, No Auto Tune, no editing this or that out, all they did was make it sound echo-ey. Beautiful, stripped-down, genuine, and heartfelt rendition of the song. The vocal breathes, crackles, and just flows. It tells a story that mainstream pop vocals, with all of the overproduction and editing of every single tiny little mistake, don't. I wish this song got more popular so today's zombies solely following that style of music and nothing else would know what a real vocal sounds like, with all of the minor variances kept intact. Everything sounds the same now becuase there's none of those mistakes anymore. Yes, this may have taken quite a few tries to record. Sometimes you can't quite get it right the first few tries. But that adds to the genuity of the song. Today's pop songs are probably rush released, favoring technology to fix every tiny little small mistake on the first try rather than taking the time to make a more natural sounding product like Coldplay have done here. Absolutely wonderful job Coldplay. Well done. I am so pleasently surprised that they went the completely opposite way of what they did for most tracks on the album this time. Hopefully this is the kinda stuff we get to hear from Kaleidoscope EP. Or at least some of it. Other than that, something that hints at a more unique direction for Coldplay moving forward. Keep it up boys. (Note: I don't hate AHFOD. I actually really like it. Compared to the rest of mainstream pop albums it's memorable and even unique. I'm just saying that I can respect songs like this a lot better because they didn't have to throw in a ton of layers or produce it a lot to make it sound "good".)

  22. Immortal by J Cole ft. Jay Z - Alright. I expected much worse when I saw that name but it actually wasn't too bad. The song it sampled though is much better in its original form though. No need to throw on a boring uninspired recycled beat on top. It's even worse because he had to sample someone else's song and couldn't think of anything better himself. At least you could do something interesting with it, which he did not (looking for a real remix people? "Magnets" remix by Jon Hopkins, original song by Disclosure ft. Lorde. LIT.) 2.9 stars/5 Come With Me Now by Kongos - Pretty good actually. I forgot about this song for a while, I don't know how. I was confused and thought it would be some boring electropop song but I got surprised when I heard it was one of my long forgotten songs... Nice song. Unique. Not spectacular but good. 3.6 stars/5 Numb by Sons of Sonix ft. Melanie C - I like it. Not anything too spectacular, but I generally like this style of music unlike many on the forum. It's that new sort of 2016 house style with catchy choruses falling between the massive soaring EDM bass drops of 2012 and before or so and the less energetic but more catchy choruses of the years following, that also features this new sound that sounds like a vocal processed wayyyyy beyond recognition and used as the melodic element of the chorus/bass drop section/whatever you wanna call it. I listen to BPM on SiriusXM satellite radio and a lot of the music on there sounds somewhat like this, yet it's also different. The sounds used in this track sound pretty unique even compared to the rest of this style of music nowadays. They also did a great job with the panning, you can actually notice some of the rhythmic elements in some points jump from the left to right channel and back. I give them props for that. For how much I actually like it, I know of more of this new 2016 style house songs and I like them much more but this is still good. To be honest I really wish the EDM scene right around 2012 would come back, those songs sounded absolutely beauteous with the flood of goosebumps you get along with the beat drop (best example I can think of is "Don't You Worry Child" by Swedish House Mafia) but as with everything music changes. Oh well, music in 2016 in general has been a comeback from 2015 and maybe 2014 in my opinion. It's gotten better. 3.6 stars/5 Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits - The best of his selection. I dig that 70s/80s soft rock style, and overall it's such a beautiful song. Love the guitar part, the drum, the subtle yet effective bass, the vocal... it all works so well together. The song flows so well. Songs like these prove you don't need electronic elements to make a masterpiece in a song (I'm sure we all know that very well already). Beautiful stripped down effectiveness. Not really much more to say. Keeping it simple is a good thing. 3.9 stars/5 Stay Another Day by East 17 - Also a very touching and gorgeous selection. I enjoy the '90s ballad-y style pop songs like this, despite the lyrics being a bit cringy at times. Sounds a bit dense in some sections, but that's the nature of some of these songs I guess... Still like it a lot. 3.7 stars/5 I thought I'd hear much worse music, glad I got (to an extent) pleasently surprised! :)
  23. Interesting. Wasn't around in the Coldplay world at that time so I don't really remember. But interesting, I seen someone mention it was really sweet thing up above. Going to have to check it out :) Funny that that's the case with you and them and that album. Too sad they're playing the ones you don't like. But on the bright side they're playing more lesser known songs now, especially one from that album that should be more recognized by them :)
  24. Interesting thought, very deep thinking. Like the idea :) This honestly makes a lot of sense. Some otherwise random letter like "O" wouldn't really make sense, but hey now that you brought it up it makes a lot more sense now. If this was Coldplay's intention that is seriously genious. Coldplay haven't ran out of amazing ideas yet, everyone!
