What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear that coldplay song?
How relaxing the song is, this is actually a rare example of a song I'd think of inside, I imagine this warm ambient orange light surrounding me and someone else who playing the piano. Near the end of the song it'd be cool if you'd hear the faint sound of rain. The song's so simple yet very effective at what it does, if you're tired enough it can easily send you spiraling down into a peaceful sleep (at least the start of it LOL) On the complete flipside: A Head Full Of Dreams

Coldplay Songs referencing other coldplay songs
I think the first one has been mentioned before. That second one, that's a very original one, I'd probably never had noticed the connection had it not been for this comment :)

Same here! I think of being at the scene depicted on the cover of Prospekt's March for some reason. Just looking more up and with the sky a little darker. I find that the album's cover has a large influence on how I see the songs "colors". It's a very beautiful and unique song, reallly all of the songs on Viva la Vida are unique. That's one of many things that set this album and AHFOD apart, as much as I like Coldplay's latest release it almost feels as if quite a few other bands could make the same thing, while Viva la Vida is obviously a whole different story all together... What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear that coldplay song?
I think of something related to the album cover, mostly the color first. It's in my top 3 Coldplay songs, it is very beautiful throughout and also very unique. It in fact is the first song I've ever listened to by Coldplay, wayyyyy before I became a hardcore fan, I listened to it sometime around 2009 so not too too long after it came out I don't think. It was a weird video with a pretty meh song for the start (but I liked, and still to an extent like the type of videos). That second song though realllllly caught me and I really wanted to listen to it. Forever and ever I did until I gradually forgot about it. I could go into a massive story about how I came to love Coldplay but that's for another time so I'll leave it at that for now. I especially liked it since the thing I seen when I very first heard that song was the Windows XP default background which looks sooooo beautiful, ever since I've associated this beautiful song with outdoor places, really for most Coldplay Songs I associate them with some sort of outside scene. :) Mylo Xyloto (not the album obviously, you know the intro track to HLH)

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear that coldplay song?
I imagine, being at night, almost right on the ocean with Chris Martin and his guitar just singing to me. A very beautiful almost ambient style soundscape and a very relaxing song. Contrast this with the mainly electronic soundscape of the rest of the album, this is mostly acoustic guitar with just that one electronic beat, it's placed right in there it gives it a more unique flavor, and of course the effects in the background and everything as they build up as the song goes on. I especially like SprayCanSoulGuy's edit of this one. How about Life in Technicolor ii?

Why did you choose your User Name and what does it mean?
Gonna revive this thread... "cp" to most of us stands for Coldplay, and that is one of the reasons why I chose "cp" but I'm also a big hockey fan and love the NHL's Montreal Canadiens team, there goalie is Carey Price and the initials happen to be "cp" so it all works out. "31" is Carey Price's jersey number. "76" was another player on the team, P.K. Subban's jersey number. He was one of our defensemen but unfortunately got traded away. Which was a very dumb move, he's still very good and still has potential, unfortunately the defensemen we got in return is also good but on decline :( Hopefully we actually get better sometime soon. So for anyone wondering about that...

Do you prefer... or ...?
Being in charge. I really hate to steal from one of the examples but I'd really be interested to know... would you prefer living in prison or on an island all alone?

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear that coldplay song?
I imagine all these colors randomly flashing around to the ringing of the bells or whatever that is, kind of like blending in with each other, sort of faded, not abrupt or flashy, like you're in a sort of dreamy state and as a part of each song from earlier in the album plays you remember those earlier "dreams" before finally moving on to Up&Up. Life in Technicolor (album version)

What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
Same I wasn't really too too sad. One of the songs I fell asleep to at night in that period of time though I can barely listen to anymore because it brings it all back, those times where I was completely broken. You're right, she's very precious to me and forever in my heart she will be! :) That's a nice song too. I like it :)

Im thinking about making a thread about what song is playing in your head at that moment, for me I nearly always have some sort of song stuck in my head (right now it's "Heartbeat" by The Fray if anyone's that curious :D) Then again I guess people would just go to I am currently listening to thread 4 that...

What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
Cool! My favorite part is the piano outro. The song begins beautifully minimalist, and even if it stayed that way through the entire song it would still probably be one of the best songs ever written and my favorite Coldplay song. But then it explodes into this massive gorgeous soundscape, taking it up quite a few notches. After a while of that the song, with the lyric "Up With The Birds", drops off into this second minimalist section, featuring strings this time, that can bring tears to your eyes especially if someone very special and precious to you passed away recently as is the case with me, as they are now "up with the birds". The song picks up once again, this time on a joyful sounding note with the introduction of Jonny's guitar, upping the quality of this song even more. Chris speaks once again with powerful lyrics, and a little while after the drums play. I didn't think it could get any better when this part came, but somehow Coldplay managed to make the song impossibly better and have Chris say "yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" before dropping off into the most beautiful section of music ever made. If I listened to it again I'd probably burst into tears seeing as the special one in my life passed away and just this morning I teared up thinking about her again. Even though I still am mostly better. :) So yeah. For me it's the best song that has ever been made and will ever be made. I don't think anyone can top it. They truly poured absolutely everything they could into that one. Just perfect. I almost lost this entire comment because of some dumb hotkey shortcut and I managed to highlight it all on accident and kept typing, it all got removed. Good job Coldplaying put that undo button there, I thought it was all over when that "Draft saved" icon popped up!
