Coldplay fans: how diverse are we?
I've noticed how diverse we are, too. I'd guess more girls like Coldplay than guys, but that's probably wrong...? Using Fixed's formula: I'm 22, male, from South Carolina, 6 ft tall, at university studying Political Science (literally a week away from graduating). I'll probably go into some sort of finance/startup when I graduate. Unlike Fixed and most others here, I'm an evil person. Avoid me at all costs!

another song... just an idea
Beautiful, you could definitely build this into something... make the chorus very distinct from the rest of it.

Whens the Last Time You Puked?
lol yep, well I don't drink or binge eat or ride rollercoasters. Well I do ride rollercoasters but I make sure to do it on an empty stomach. So school is stressing you out that much? I'm in the same boat... I'm sick of school, can't wait to graduate and get a job.

Whens the Last Time You Puked?
When I was 6 or 7. I took some medicine I was allergic to and puked up blue gak. It was cool.

which coldplay song sounds most like a radiohead one?
Oh, the song "Pretentious Pitchfork Perusers Populate Radiohead Concerts" sorta sounds like "A Message" from X&Y.

which is the first song of coldplay which you listened to ?
I was never into music at all before I saw the "Yellow" video when I was flipping through the channels at my Grandma's house. It was a little bit into the song but I had to stop and listen to the whole thing... I think that was the first time music really had a powerful effect on me. That was around the time Parachutes was new, and I didn't even know the band's name. Then I forgot about it, and got back into Coldplay when my friend told me to listen to A Rush of Blood to the Head.

BME Pain Awards.. Holy Shit
I've read about pictures on the internet of car wrecks where the driver's head actually came off because of the speed (and the body was still wearing the seatbelt). But I didn't click on them because at a certain point, you've gotta be willing to censor things yourself. I hope you guys learned a lesson from this. The human brain is a fragile organ and if you subject it to stuff it wasn't meant to see often ALOT (this goes for porn also), then it can change you as a person. Try to forget about what you saw and think about Coldplay or something.

which coldplay song sounds most like a radiohead one?
Coldplay have good variety going on, especially now that they've been working with Eno. I think Radiohead's stuff all pretty much sounds the same except for Kid A. Radiohead is just bitter they're not as "uncool" as Coldplay. I believe Chris Martin takes a certain pride in the fact Coldplay is sort of considered lame - even if he won't admit it. Think about it: the tables have turned. It used to be that "indie" music was uncool (back when Radiohead was fresh) and therefore you were an individualist for listening to it. But now EVERYBODY loves Radiohead, so they've lost their counterculture cred. In order to make up for that, they released an album (In Rainbows) online for free - their way of "sticking it to the man". But in reality it was just more of the same, tired old Thom Yorke whiny crap we've already heard a million times, with a couple DECENT songs on there (Reckoner comes to mind). Coldplay have the advantage of raking in the dough while simultaneously being chick magnets. Remember that movie 40 Year Old Virgin, where the guy says "You know how I know you're gay? Because you listen to Coldplay." Well guess what? Turns out the guys who listen to Coldplay are the ones who are more likely getting the hot girls. I'm just sayin'.

BME Pain Awards.. Holy Shit
Come on people, have more self control. Just because something exists doesn't mean you watch it/try it. In other news, this is really good heroin.

who is/are your idols?
1. Peter Thiel... 2. Richard Branson... 3. Kevin Rose... Generally I admire people who start businesses and who live their lives however they damn well please and ignore taking flack from others for it. EDIT: BTW, this is probably the best thread I've seen in this section yet. I could go into depth about the particulars of why I admire these people and I probably will edit my post to do that later.

The Semi Almost Official "Goodnight" Thread
I need this thread because lately I've been an insomniac. Night night!

How would your life be with no Coldplay?
Hey dude you're totally not alone on that. Even tho I know a lot of people don't care for it, Warning Sign helped me get through some tough times and so did Everything's Not Lost (when my parents got divorced).

Meeting the band?
Heh that's really sweet. I can totally understand what it's probably like for them, being famous. I think I'd get annoyed after a while of all the fans and people recognizing me in public. But I think if I were in a band like Coldplay, I'd definitely set up a situation where only the biggest fans could meet me - it would be tough to organize though but maybe it could be like a contest or something.

BME Pain Awards.. Holy Shit
I never saw 2girls1cup but I saw screenshots from it so I get the idea of what happens. I always turned my back whenever my friend Rob played it (he kept trying to get me to watch that crap) but the music was absolutely hilarious. It was so... touching.

BME Pain Awards.. Holy Shit
I don't get why anyone would subject themselves to watching crap like this. It's not good for you psychologically, and it's pretty apparent these guys aren't right in the head. Usually when people are a danger to themselves, they can be dangerous to the rest of society - I think they should be locked up.

Post piccies of the sexy Mr Berryman..
Coldplay should write a song about the brown shirt. It could be like "white tee" and "black tee".

What if You Could Go on Tour With Coldplay?
Touring has got to be the life. Knowing that every show you play, you probably make another million dollars. So you'd always be staying in the finest hotels, eating at the best restaurants... And on occasion some fans will notice you and you get to sign autographs or take pictures with them (this might be annoying depending on your mood, but I think it could be fun). Oh and flying in a private jet would be a nice deal. I hate airports.

Pictures, webcams, mugshots etc etc etc
LOL I guess they do stuff differently where Blacksmith's from! Never fear Mariana, I'll protect you!

how to approach someone you fancy.
The irony of it is that if a guy were to do this to a girl (slapping her on the bum and saying he loves her), he'd prolly go to jail for a long time. lol

Pitchfork in positive Coldplay review shocker!
Pitchfork can stick it where the sun don't shine. Just because Coldplay have done a political-style video (which skewers both Republicans AND Democrats... as well as leaders of other countries) doesn't mean it's suddenly okay to start enjoying their music for its artistic merits. Artists have always tended to be political creatures, but art itself isn't necessarily a political spectacle - it's a physical/aural embodiment of emotion, that's interpretive on the individual level. Violet Hill is a good song, regardless of what it's about, and they don't want to admit that. Pitchfork would rather blab about politics than the return of Coldplay. PS: Where's Putin? If I had made this video, Putin would be at the forefront, along with Kim Jong Il, George Bush, Hillary Clinton, etc.

American Govt needs to stop
He changed Medicare to include prescription drugs, something that's going to increase the amount of taxpayer money going to social services substantially more than any Democrat has done since LBJ. http://services.alphaworks.ibm.com/manyeyes/view/S62J0EQ9mVa6O_kEoi71E2~ Here's an interactive graph that shows you the growth of government spending over the years. Further, I don't understand why a "sky high surplus" is necessarily a good thing, either: after all, if the government takes more of your money than is necessary, isn't that a bad thing as well? Somehow we've managed to make it this far without such a big government. We've survived, thrived. But the liberals continue to make us believe that if we just reallocate our incomes to paying for the stupidity of others (smoking, obesity, etc) we'll be much better off in the world. There isn't any proof socialist policies like that work. Indeed, I'd go so far as to call it "voodoo economics". ;)
