has anyone heard the theory that this song was about drugs? "your skin and bones turn into something beautiful" "for you i'd bleed myself trying" "i drew a line, i drew a line for you" "it was all yellow" i read a theory somewhere that it was about a yellow bag of coke/heroin, not sure which of the two.
  2. last year's VMA's had to be the worst one they've ever had, you could see the boredom on the all the celeb's faces, i haven't seen a real good VMA since the first time Chris Rock hosted, with the whole runDMC/Aerosmith/Kid Rock performance
  3. for school: Descartes first 3 meditations and John Locke for pleasure: hemingway's for whom the bell tolls (oddly never read it in high school)
  4. don't forget empire strikes back, probably the best sequel.......ever...... x-men 2 was better than the first lord of the rings trilogy? do these count as sequels? cause i liked the 2nd and 3rd better than the 1st (movies)

was this ever put out as a single or b-side or anything? i really like this song, and i know it's on the 2003 live CD, but i've heard it on the radio a few times when it first came out, and i can't remember for the life of me if they played the live version or a studio version. was there ever a studio version recorded and played?

  12. now this is a story all about how my life was flipped turned upside down....... did anyone else memorize this whole damn intro song?
  13. rock and roll with a lotta soul
  14. because back in the day writing with your left hand was very wrong, children who started writing with their left hands were encouraged to write with their right. i'ma leftie too, handwriting's not excellent but it is readable.
  15. looks like they'll be playing a few of these buzz gigs around north america, i'm not gonna miss em this time, like i did last time when they played a secret gig at the troubador, eck, if i only woke up that morning
  16. love the wailing at the end of the scientist
  17. they played a couple spots in the US quite a few times, just last year they headlined Coachella, one of our biggest music festivals, and i know they soldout the hollywood bowl twice too, just wait til their new album comes out, they'll probably swing by again
  18. lost
  19. it's insane how trendy these things have become though, people want em just to collect em, not to support any cause or what not, but if the charities are getting money out of it, not complaining too much, it's all real genius to me on their part
  20. heh, when he sings that last part in politik, "oh give me love over....." gotta be one of my favorite parts on the whole CD, not so much the rest of the song, but that part. anyways, as far as lyrics and music and soul are concerned, Chris Martin was in love with a child while writing this album (X&Y), maybe that might influence in a postive/negative way?
  21. heh i've been reading machiavelli's the prince for my english class, my professor never mentioned anything about realpolitik, though it is a very cool term. all she's been doing is ripping apart machiavelli's inductive reasoning, but i guess that's part of what makes him machiavellian.
  22. i've heard it a couple times already on the radio just today, once on an indie radio station, 103.1 for all you OC-LA based californians, and once on KROQ, and i'm sure they're playing it on KCRW
  23. you know i saw the doves on jay leno here in the states and i've gotta say i didn't enjoy the lead singer's live voice as much as I did on the album, not that it was bad, just didn't sound the same to me. the song was black and white town. but maybe it's just me cause my brother swears up and down that he sounds the same
  24. ah i like it, although, what part did you have in mind to stop the song, for the frozen in time part, can't think of a good time personally
