  1. I always wear make up. I think I look bad without it.
  2. Yeah I went to counselling for about a year just so my dad would leave me alone. I didn't want to go but the counsellor was certainly very good at what she was doing. I never told her a lot but she'd always ask me the right questions and find out quite a lot about me anyway. I went to a counselling at uni a few times as well but the counsellor wasn't very good. I'm no longer depressed but some things that happened in the past still affect me and I need to move on and become more confident.
  3. I didn't know there was such a thing. My dad used to try to convince me to take medication and I kept telling him that I wasn't suffering from depression, I was just going through a bad time. I was terrified that taking medication might change me as a person and that it would make me more dependent on my parents. I'm not sure if that's true but I'm glad I never tried it because the depression disappeared after I moved out of my parents' house.
  4. They only gave us ONE shirt. And our new uniform's bright red and my shirt's too big.:( I usually only do like two shifts a week because I'm at uni but I'll be in pretty much every day before Christmas.
  5. Yep! There's actually plenty of people who play this type of music all year. They usually play it at birthday parties, village celebrations and weddings.
  6. I didn't know it started that early. :shocked2: I feel sorry for you guys. I hated the way it was celebrated where I lived in Switzerland. It wasn't really about getting dressed up for most people. it was basically an excuse for married men to go to a restaurant where they get served by a half naked waitresses and get absolutely wasted. Loads of restaurants had strippers too. The strange thing was that everyone seemed to be ok with it. How i love Carnival. :dozey:
  7. Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough
  8. I'm so bad this. I get ridiculously shy when I like someone. Like I can barely look at them. Anyway I always try to make eye contact when talking with people.
  9. Same here. I don't really consider myself an adult. A lot of people I went to school with get married and have kids and I still don't know what I want to do with my life.
  10. I don't missing being a child, things got a lot better when I got older. I just wish could be 16 again, knowing what I know now.
  11. So he's a loser because he happened to be mixing with the wrong crowd? Well he might have been a loser to you because you and your friends didn't wanna spend your time with him. Doesn't mean he sucks at life. It just took him some time to meet the right people I guess.
  12. True. Most of the 'cool kids' from my school probably wish they had worked harder now. I guess I would have gone to go to the class reunion last year, if I didn't live in a different country. it would have been interesting to find out what they our doing now.
  13. No, I'm quite shy and I find it hard to start a conversation with someone I don't know. I've made a few bad experiences with people when I was younger and I think it still affects me but I definitely got more confident in the past few years.
  14. Have you ever considered moving away? To answer the question. I wasn't very popular as a kid. I lived in a small village and I didn't have a lot in common with the people I went to school with but there was no one else. I felt a bit lonely and I was bullied in Secondary School because I wasn't one of the 'cool kids' who never bothered to do any work for school and got drunk and stole from shops instead. Things got a lot better when I went to a different school to do my A Levels. I made some good friends and I no longer dreaded going to school. I try not to categorise people. I think I'm way to old for that anyway. There is so many people on my course that there isn't really a group of losers and a group of cool kids. There's just different groups of friends. There's obviously people who find it hard to make friends at uni or work but I don't think they get bullied most of the time. There's also a lot of staff nights out etc. that should make it easier to make friends. Anyway I'm probably not the one who befriends people who sit on their own. Mainly because I'm very shy so I wouldn't really start a conversation with someone I don't know. If I get to know them and we get on well, it certainly wouldn't bother me if they haven't got a lot of friends though.
  15. Yeah. Especially when I'm out with friends and they feel the need to phone/ text people all the time. I think it's very rude.
  16. Of course. I don't mind talking about football and cars. Whereabouts in Switzerland do you live? Hope you don't mind me asking. I'm just curious because I used to live there.
  17. Fizzy drink.

I love Red Bull and I drink it far too often.
  19. I'd say go for it! Its not as hard as you think it is, unless you wanna move really far away. I've never really had any problems.
  20. Our shop sells football shirts and merchandising so we're allowed to wear trainers. Our shoes have to be black though and we can't wear boots or sandals.
  21. Don't you work in a shop as well? I'd say get them if they're comfortable. I'm yet to find good shoes for work. My feet are killing me after an 8 hour shift no matter what I wear. I don't even care if they're fashionable, I just want comfortable shoes for work.
  22. I remember every village had their own bakery when I lived in Switzerland. The quality really was a lot better so I can see where you're coming from. Then again, the bread you got from Swiss supermarkets was horrible. It isn't like that in England. (I still prefer bakeries though)
  23. There isn't a lot of bakeries that sell bread around here. The one around the corner only sells pies and sandwiches. I usually get bread from the supermarket. The quality's alright as long as you don't buy Asda's own brand. I do most of my shopping at Tesco's or Asda. It's cheaper and I can't really be bothered to go to different places.
