NHL Hockey 2006-2007 Season
So opening night's tonight: Buffalo vs. Carolina Ottawa vs. Toronto Dallas vs. Colorado I'm pumped for this year, of course. I think it's gonna be a good one now that everyone's adjusted to the rules changes. :)

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
My Muse addiction is starting to get out of control again. I just cannot get Bliss out of my head... such a great song.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Awesome! I've been working on the Take A Bow intro on my piano, so it's great to hear Matt do the same thing =) The Butterflies and Hurricanes from Cardiff file is scratched up though. =( Other than that it's an excellent live package. I absolutely love this version of BLISS. :D

Last Album that you bought/acquired?
Haha I just bought Pablo Honey too. :) In addition, I also bought Tori Amos' "To Venus and Back" and "Strange Little Girls" cause they were on sale. :D

Drink and Drive?
Yeah right. Driving drunk is deplorable.

This MF Gore is insane. Cigs?
It does contribute to global warming, but I wouldn't say it's anything near significant. I mean, there are millions more cars than cigarettes...

2006, good or bad?
For me 2006 was the year of Radiohead (I bought OKC, The Bends and Kid A late last year), so for music it was an absolutely excellent year.

OK Go
"you don't have to be alone to be lonely, you might as well give in" Ah I bought their album on Sunday and I can NOT stop listening to it. It's not one of those super great future-classic albums, but it's just so catchy. :D

Radiohead
My favorite is Kid A right now. I just can't get enough of it; the whole album, I mean. I can't just listen to one song, I gotta hear the whole thing. =) Hail to the Thief has been slowly moving up my list of favorites, though it's still on the bottom haha.

The Offical "The Killers" Thread
"posing like a gay cowboy" Oh my. I absolutely hate The Killers so I don't really give a rat's ass about what this joker thinks. If he wants to hear some pop Radiohead songs, he can listen to Pablo Honey. He shouldn't be telling other people what they need. I'm not being a hostile Radiohead fan; I would do this for any band when stupid people say stupid things about them.

Favorite CD Covers?
I'm not really a fan of OLP's covers...though the one's with Saul on them are better than Gravity and HIPT. I can't really think of my favorites though. Maybe The Joshua Tree? Kid A?

What's the matter with X&Y?
The quality is not there. It's just not inspired at all...the lyrics sound like they were written the same for every song then mixed up a little. The overwhelming synth sound and effects take away from sharp guitars, piano and drums...from the whole instrumental track, in fact. The singing is hidden behind this atmosphere; something Radiohead could do in Kid A, but not something Coldplay should do on a very mainstream album. I'm not really sure how to put my disappointment into words...well maybe this will work. Take a song like Amsterdam. Quiet piano until the 2nd chorus when there's bass, then song building effect and a huge crescendo. It was a pure song: each part came in as needed and none took the effect away from the others. Now, take a song like What If, the closest thing to a piano ballad on X&Y. It starts off with vocals immediately (something that happens 4 times on X&Y, but only once on AROBTTH and Parachutes and I'm not particularly a fan of) and the piano music, while just as repetitive as Amsterdam, is just boring chords. The chorus brings in everything way too quickly and the piano gets lost somewhere in the mess. Finally, there's the issue of Chris's falsetto. It's simply overused on this album. What If, Fix You, Talk, Speed of Sound, and Low all use it far too much. The Hardest Part is just a joke of a song. Til Kingdom Come is out of place. Basically all of the b-sides (save maybe Sleeping Sun) suck. Speed of Sound's and Fix You's are just awful actually. It just seems like the gang stopped trying when I listen to them. Perhaps it's the influence of Radiohead or Muse's undying creativity and versatility on me, but Coldplay sure seems to have lost it's passion for music. With their next release, I hope they prove me wrong; I really do.

Recommend an album
I'll second that. I just bought the album yesterday and it's absolutely fantastic.

Kerry May Run For President Again......uh oh.
Haha they have plans... or rather they refuse to make plans cause they could fall into terrorists hands. I'd vote for John McCain though. He's the only good Republican and the only potential candidate as of now.

OK Go

Radiohead

New Ground Zero designs unveiled
Great designs. Let's get them built already! Damn I hate bureaucracy... rebuilding isn't a sign of disrespect to those who rest there; it's a sign of our resiliency in the face of tragedy.
