 No, it's upstairs. And I'm too tired now to bother.

- What are you thinking right now?
My life is constantly remembering that I forgot something, only to immediatly forget it again. I'm almost a professional scatterbrain.- The official Formula One Thread 2006
Yay Alonso! :) Sooo surreal... during the race commentary Martin Brundle started talking about the Arctic Monkeys and the Kaiser Chiefs. What the hooey? It's funny because most people over here don't even know who those bands are....- What are you thinking right now?
I think I forgot to do the laundry again... *sigh*- I Can Do Anything!
Yeah, but I didn't see that because we'd posted at roughly the same time and I'm to lazy to edit today. :P- Are You A Fourthmealer?
I guess I would count as a tenthmealer... I'm always eating.- I Can Do Anything!
Actually, if things were so great while Reilly was away, why was a thread entitled "do not feed the trolls" created in his absence? It's good to have you back, Reilly... I'd wondered where you'd been.- What was the last thing in your mouth?
Grape juice- I Can Do Anything!
Momentum is a wonderful thing. I've learned to distrust that feeling, though... I usually get it about 5 minutes before I fall flat on my ass.- Do You Have An Ipod?
I don't... I have a minidisk player. Which is annoying because you have to bring disks along and change them, but nice because it's endlessly expandable.- Do You Have An Ipod?
What about other mp3 players?- imaginative journeys... helpppppp me!!!
^Sure... that kind of turned into thinking out loud again... but yeah, that's kind of what I meant.- your fav line in a song today
Sweet sunlight, I can see it in my mind's eye And I remember feeling alright Sam Roberts - The Gate- imaginative journeys... helpppppp me!!!
Bonita, you're very welcome :) Just yell if you want more. Lincoln, I was thinking more about the possibilities of using a pompus prick for that idea, but you could do some really interesting things with the greatest ___ in the world who couldn't accept it too... In a darker vein, that idea works really well when you think about situations where someone wants to run away or commit suicide or something, without realising how much they mean to everyone around them. Oi... I haven't done any creative writing of my own in awhile... I think its starting to sound like I should again...- Favorite Canadian Band...if you have one
I saw them, they were great! (Though they did use way too much reverb the entire time). I love the lead guy's voice.- Current British Weather
^ditto :( The damp is starting to make all my joints ache... and no, it's not arthritis.- Do Not Feed The Trolls
I just turned 24...so I was probably one year ahead of you in school.- The official **KEANE** thread
I did try it... i got the two pieces cut together, but the program that I was using was too crude to make them blend at all, so the cut sounded terrible and a little startling. I'll give it another try eventually if I can find something different to use...- Do Not Feed The Trolls
Oh my goodness... I think I have that one. :stunned: All my trolls are stuffed in a shoebox somewhere... I think they're under my bed. Haven't looked at them in years. Troll dolls were all the rage when I was in 4th grade. By 5th or 6th they'd moved onto pogs.- Favorite Summer Albums
What are your favorite summer albums? It's warm, the sun is shining, and for one moment everything is right with the world. You're hanging out at the beach, or on your patio, or at a pool party and you put on some music. No worrying about greatness or influences, just what you want to hear. What is it? For those who like him, I supposed Jack Johnson is an obvious choice. My favorite is Sam Roberts' "We Were Born In A Flame".- Favorite Canadian Band...if you have one
Nope, they're based in Montreal, and most of the members are Canadian. They've won Juno awards. In a funny way, they're more of a Canadian ideal than they might have been, because of the way that they're from all over. Canada supposedly prides itself on being a mosaic rather than a melting pot, and there are so many influences in their music doing just that.- imaginative journeys... helpppppp me!!!
Well I have afew ideas, but anything I do will always have a bit of a sci-fi fantasy vibe to it. You could do something about how subjective memories are, like if a person was to be able to enter their memories and be flabberghasted at how different what they see is from what they thought they remembered. Or they could be mortified at how silly they were at any given time only to go back and make the same mistake again while reliving the memory. Many writing teachers love it when you take on a topic, so the "we never change do we" (shameless quote, I know) approach can be an interesting one if the topic is about learning from memory and the past. You could do something about how skewed self reflection can be because the one person in the universe that we never trully have any perspective on is ourself. For instance if you wrote about someone who had a particularly deluded self-image, and then showed what they were really like by switching between the viewpoints of their family and friends. Or maybe two people go back to the orginal events at some point in their life and end up arguing about where the funiture was supposed to be and who was wearing what dress at what time, only to finally admit that they can't deal with the real issues of the past, and want to go back to the present where they belong and deal with whatever crap happened rather than dealing with it and avoiding it. There's more where that came from... hope they make a little sense. I've always thought of creative writing as putting skin and colour on skeletons of ideas, so even if you do use any of my ideas it will probably be vastly different than anything I said. Good ideas can never come from a void, you use tiny pieces of things that are already there and combine them in different ways. For instance, if you were to go with a story about two people arguing about memory, you could say that it has to involve a blender. No reason, just to make you try. Plots seem to work better when they're built around something, even if its taken out at the end. Or maybe that's just me. Good luck, anyway! ;)- Do Not Feed The Trolls
More importantly, have you ever READ the Lord of the Rings? Kicking trolls is an all round bad idea unless you like broken toes! "But harder than stone is the flesh and bone of a troll that sits in the hills alone. As well set your boot to the mountain's root, For the seat of a troll don't feel it. Peel it! Heal it! Old Troll laughed when he heard Tom groan, And he knew his toes could feel it."- Are you left-handed?
My dad is left handed. Creativity is his weak point. He (as he likes to point out on a regular basis) is a mathematician, and creative stuff is illogical. Leftys more creative? Not in my family. - What are you thinking right now?
