They sound similar if compared to say... Led Zepplin or Elvis, so I can see how people who don't care about either would make the connection, but they do use what they have in different ways.

I think the eccentricity is a big part of why I like them. Nothing gets me on board like a good song about outerspace...

I haven't heard much, but I've liked what I've heard... seem kind of goofy in a good way.

See, that's exactly my problem with emos... teen angst will always be around as long as there are teenagers. It's the trendy pre-packaged hipster angst that you can sign up for that gets on my nerves.

There is absolutly nothing rocky about the song at all!!! Too hiphop, that I could believe. But not too rocky. It's a beautful, mellow song. I love it. It still has Chris' fingerprints all over it- bits of his style come through and he wistles and plays the guitar on it. His voice would have been perfect for it. :cry: The real issue here is that Nelly Furtado is with Universal- one of EMI's biggest rivals and that the Chris Martin duet was generating alot of buzz.

Confession time- I don't like Keane. I don't want to go into details because I can see why other people like them and I respect that, but I REALLY don't like Keane for the most part. So imagine my shock when I liked the song Atlantic enough to give the new album a listen and I actually really liked about half of it. Perhaps even enough to get the album eventually. If that's not proof that there are differences between this cd and the last, I don't know what would prove it. The newfound darker elements to some of the songs really suit them. The title track is probably my favorite... really beautiful. I can see myself on the shore looking out to sea on a grey cloudy day with a storm coming every time I hear it. Atlantic is riveting. I like Is It Any Wonder the keyboard effects are kind of neat, and I love the rollercoaster video for it. Bad Dream and Nothing In My Way are my two other favorites, although I have trouble telling them apart. Good stuff. :)
