  1. Yelling, screaming, and crying isn't going to do you much good. The best way to earn your parents trust is (no matter how much it hurts) to handle yourself like someone mature enough for them to trust. If their problem is your boyfriend, and he can handle himself well around adults, perhaps it would be a good idea if you let them talk with him... give him a chance to reassure them that he's not a jerk. That depends totally on the personality of the guy and the parents, though.
  2. Yeah, but my point is, I think it's a very bad idea to believe anything that Henry says about anything.
  3. I have to say I was really impressed with how much of a gentleman Alonso was about the whole incident. He kept his opinions to himself even when people bugged him to speak out about them. I think he handled himself with a great deal of humility. And half of winning the championchip is having the skill and putting in the work to be in the right place at the right time when something goes wrong for someone else. F1 is still a team sport, and it is the team's responsibility to supply cars that aren't going to break. If you are going to go by who deserves what, then almost every driver who has ever won a championchip for Williams would be tossed out, because in its heyday, Williams always prided itself in being greater than any one driver. The same could be said for McLaren's winning streaks. Now McLaren is off a bit for the time being, and the rumor is that Raikkonen has already signed with Ferrari for next year and Alonso is taking his place hoping to prove that he can still win in a different car.
  4. The Crazy Frog's Crazy Hits cd has been doing sickeningly well in the US, though. There was just never an ad campaign.
  5. I just had a thought... the Henry who isn't Henry guy- the other. Not one thing that he has said has been entirly true, and the whole scene in the arctic proves it. He said "not even God could find us here" or something like that. But then the big electromagnetic anomaly showed up somewhere else... leading to hope of rescue. He also said that he didn't push the button (he obviously did) that they would never give Walt back (they did) the list goes on. Which makes the chances of Michael's info for how to get off the island annoyingly dubious.
  6. Oh wow... can. worms. open. :stunned: I think the Newfoundland ones are mainly a maritimes thing. The same jokes are used against other groups all over the place, but never in such a good natured way.
  7. Way better than live 8... He sounded REALLY good to me... I guess he was struggling with the voice but hiding it well. I thought it was just nervosness at the time
  8. Caught them on Good Morning America today, they sounded good, but I guess Gary's voice was on its last legs... they had to pospone a couple of gigs just now because of it. I hope he gets better soon! And Gary cut his hair! :stunned:

  10. Oh, it's only getting warmed up over here... it was never such a big deal to begin with, so there isn't any brand fatigue yet. Check this out from the latest Zellers flier: Annoying is an understatement. Who buys this crap anyway?
  11. ^ Xmen 3 too... and I was going to give it the same rating - 8/10 A note to anyone who hasn't seen it yet: Just because the credits are rolling does not mean that the movie is over!
  12. Yeah, that was messed up... I really don't have a clue if it was on purpose, but it sure looked suspicious. He took that corner completly wrong- something he's not prone to doing by accident. From what I saw he could have made it around if he wanted to, but he also might have lost the back end in the process and made a bigger mess, because it looked pretty unstable. Going to be an interesting race...
  13. You guys must have big snails! :stunned: Around here when it rains there aren't any snails, but all of the earthworms crawl out into the roads to get squished. It's gross.
  14. Totally and completly random, but dude... do you have any clue how ironic it looks that a guy named Partridge is posting in a thread about turkeys? :laugh3:
  15. I found one that was posted in the news on here, though I'm not sure I have a clue what they're trying to say... http://www.coldplaying.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=1964&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0 I really don't like reading them, even the good ones either make me angry or just plain confuse me. sniggrb- I found the Reindeer Section thread: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1511
  16. I got it the day it came out- about 2 weeks ago, I think, and I've been listening to it at least once a day since. It's fantastic! I loved Final Straw, but this really blows that out of the water. It still sounds like them, but deeper, darker, bigger, and more mature. I've been looking for reviews, and it's gotten some good ones, but it looks like the indie snobs have turned on them on them for "selling out" because people actually like them now. Grrr. I'll see if I can find one of the good ones...
  17. ^ Don't worry... the best is yet to come...
  18. Phew... I think I'm going to need awhile to mull that one over. I was somewhat underwhelmed at first, but as the implications start to sink in... Just..... WOW.
  19. Really good point. ;) Should have though of that one. It does happen, but it's rare... at least in my experience. But I'm really quiet, so most of my best friends are people who were a little more outgoing and approached me first. I think that there is a HUGE difference between debating and arguing. There has been alot of arguing on here lately and it makes me a little ill. :( In a good debate, both sides are willing to both talk AND listen. You learn alot more about what you think as a result, as well as learning more about where the other person is coming from. You may never agree, but you do understand more than you did.

  21. 23. (I just turned 24) The early twenties are the best because you're done with all the crap that went with being a teenager, but you're still young enough to act like one if you want. At the same time, you don't have to deal with adult stuff, but you're old enough so you can if you want to. 23 is perfect because its exactly in between early and mid twenties. Nice and balanced. I loved being 23 when I was, and I wish I could have stayed there for afew years before I had to move on.

:laugh3: Yeah. Good to know. :disappointed: :idea2: Wait a minute... that means it's almost summer! :D :sunny:

*Yawns, rubs eyes* Hey... wait a minute... did someone say that it was MAY? ALREADY?!! :stunned: Oh crap. :freak:
  24. If I don't have debates with a friend sooner or later, it usually means one of 3 things: We don't talk much, which means we're not really friends, we just know each other. OR We can't talk about stuff for various reasons, which is just plain bad for any relationship OR The other person is a bubblehead not capable of logical thought, and I always get annoyed sooner or later by those people if I spend too much time around them. I guess my point is that if they're really a friend there will be a debate or ten sooner or later. It's just part of a healthy relationship.
