  1. My first impressions are almost always wrong. I find that when I genuinely want to know what makes someone tick they are always far more unique, complex people with alot more going on than I could have imagined. Some have personalities that work with my own more than others', but there is always something there. The one time I am prone to making a harsh judgement is when I see someone being particularly cruel to someone else. That ticks me off.
  2. Man, someone went to alot of work to put that together... :stunned:
  3. Ok, that makes more sense. Yeah, 12 was tiny... though my school has had fewer... I went to a private school, so the numbers weren't so big. But the crowd was at the ceremony.
  4. 1500... wow. That would make a difference. My graduating class had 12.
  5. Well put. If we can't cooexist with different music tastes, what hope do we as humans have for the real problems in the world? Though I dissagree on one point, people's opinions can make a difference- there are so many die-hard Radiohead fans on here that you all unwittingly convinced me to give in and get a copy of OK Computer a couple of weeks ago. I liked it so much I just got the Bends last week. This place can be a force for good too.....
  6. I suppose it depends on how your graduation ceremony is set up, but there's really nothing to be nervous about. For me it was bittersweet, I guess, I was so sad that everything was ending, and so happy too. You sit, you listen to people blathering on for awhile, you go up on stage for a moment... people take pictures. You walk away, and then everything changes. Congrats, anyway, and good luck.
  7. Can't say I care much about rep myself. Sure, negative would suck, but.... meh. I'm just happy to have people to chatter at on occasion. :)
  8. me three... the artwork on the album cover is amazing. The Mario thing on the other hand is really disturbing...

Already been mentioned, but Snow Patrol! Except aren't they from Northern Ireland? They're really more a part of the Glasgow scene from what I understand, anyway. If you don't mind celtic music and wanted some really rich history to look into, the Chieftans would be a great one to do. They've been around for forever it seems.
  10. Wow... I've never heard of a DIY job that went that badly... I guess that's why they say that demolition is the main thing you should never do without proffesional advice at the least. I've heard the occasional story of people falling off their roof while shoveling snow off of it because they were afraid the heavy snowfall would make the roof collapse.
  11. Did you notice that they keep calling her Alex? It's Alex Rousseau, the crazy french lady's kidnapped daughter. I think that has something to do with when Shannon kept seeing him covered in water wandering in the jungle before he dissappeared. Yeah, the way the others treated Michael was a bit aggrivating, but they had a good point. Michael isn't very good at listening, and he's missed alot of important details all his life because of it. Even when Walt was around, he was always worrying rather than getting to know him. If he had just thought for a minute, he would have realised that Walt would have had to have been in the other Dharma hatch to talk to him on the computer terminals. Autumnjoy- yeah, I saw the entry box in the other bio, but I couldn't enter anything into it. Did you notice that the ad this week was sponsored by Jeep? Haven't checked that new site yet, though.
  12. I'd have to agree with that one... but my slightly lower grades can testify to it too...
  13. Perhaps that has more to do with privatized health care than banning women from having cats. Most women in the states that I know who had problems had to go to a midwife because they didn't have insurance and couldn't afford to have the baby in a hospital. If my niece had been born in the US, she sure wouldn't be alive. No way could her parents have afforded it. We nearly lost her up here with everything available that she needed.
  14. A boat?! :shocked2: Why do I get the feeling they're not saved... In fact, it has a bit of a Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner kind of a vibe to it...
  15. You know it's a great album when... My sister doesn't particularly like Final Straw (or much of anything I like for that matter), though she does really like Chocolate. I've been listening to Eyes Open constantly for the last week. She usually borrows new cds sooner or later, but hasn't really had a chance with this one. I come home today, I had Eyes Open in the car with me, and it was in my hand coming into the house, and Eyes Open was playing on the stereo. It was a total Twilight Zone moment until I realised that she liked the album so much she had gone out and bought her own copy rather than wait to listen to mine!
  16. Thanks, Fudge :) I finally got to listen to the album. Great stuff!!! Check this one out- Jack White has his own mini-me. Too cute not to be an avatar.
  17. I've had days like that... in my case usually due to boredom. (amoung other things) Maybe if you just tried to do something different to break out of your headspace... like take a walk or get some sort of exercise... or track down some icecream and a good book. Sometimes when I'm being snarky I just start avoiding people. That's not a very nice way to cope, but at least they don't get hurt.
  18. I don't think I've used this one yet... but I like it! Is it new?
  19. Heh... anyone notice the post count that a few words left off on?
  20. Wow... that would be a performance to remember for sure!
  21. Aww... *melts* I like that name :nice:
  22. Take it too seriously, and you're liable to get a heartattack... There is a time any place for everything, though.

Well there is always that one disgruntled lurker who finally squeaks up out of annoyance at something... but probably not.
  24. ^^ Yeah, I was going to say, Welcome the the real world. It sucks too. But I wouldn't want to go back to highschool either.
  25. Wake me up when Gumby shows up.
