  1. So I never got a chance to ask, how did you like them live? Blew me away
  2. The interview/article is up: For Chris Martin, the upbeat goes on Don't know if it ever got posted anywhere around here
  3. As opposed to being horribly taken advantage of, left feeling worthless when it all falls apart, and emotionally scarred for life, yes. As opposed to being dragged into the sort of cycles of abuse that come from that sort of dependence and insecurity, yes. As opposed to the girls who wind up young, pregnant, and alone, who will spend a significant part of the rest of their lives on welfare, yes. Teen infatuations happen. The generally aren't happy. The trick it to survive them with minimal damage.
  4. :laugh3: And now you know why there are so many Twilight haters in the world... But the real life ones often end up much less happy.:(
  5. Every silly plot ever?
  6. Set up your garden well, and hopefully you'll never have to deal with any.
  7. Some very basics- for a small garden you can set out ant bait if you have an ant problem. The good kind of poison will never touch the plants if you put it on a little piece of tin foil next to the anthill. The ants take it back to the queen and hopefully the colony dies off. Aphids you can actually order ladybugs in the mail if you have a problem, but that's more for big gardens. Sometimes you can spray them directly with a mixture of dishsoap and water (not sure if that's considered organic, but it is food friendly). Just test it first because some types of plants can be a little sensitive to the soap. Harmful beetles you have to pick off by hand and dump in a bucket of soapy water (or just squish them). If you're squeamish you could always put them in a jar or something and set them free somewhere else, but they'll probably come back. If you take good care of your garden, have a good soil mix and mulch it well, you probably won't have much of a bug problem in the first place. We never really do. The problems that you do have will usually depend on the plants that you have. Mulch is your new best friend- it holds moisture in, keeps weeds and some pests out, and protects the garden from the sun. Where I'm not familiar with your climate, your best bet is to find a good garden centre and pick the brains of the people who run it since they know your area, what grows well there and how to deal with local problems. Also, the internet is your friend (lots of organic sites out there I'm sure) and it always helps to have a couple of good beginner's reference books around.
  8. ^Depends on what sort of bugs you're dealing with.
  9. It is a bit long... it's sort of eating your face. But it is a good style. When the time comes go some place that will trim it and make it look good and not like it was just cut, rather than just hacking it all off.
  10. [ame=http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x28phu_jack-johnson-sitting-waiting-wishin_music]Dailymotion - JACK JOHNSON - SITTING WAITING WISHING - a Music video@@AMEPARAM@@http://www.dailymotion.com/swf/x28phu@@AMEPARAM@@x28phu[/ame] ^Chris is better at singing backwards. Or first came "Who Killed Amanda Palmer?" and then came that new Lady Gaga video...
  11. It's because Irish Leprechauns sound Irish. Ones that have been living somewhere else for a long time probably don't.
  12. I do. I love gardening. What do you want to know? You must be doing something wrong then.
  13. I'm 27. I thought you were about 24 or 25? Eh...I was never a teenager when I actually was a teenager. I didn't even start being a teenager until I was about 21. So I can't quite tell you yet, though I'm starting to get over it.
  14. I'm older than you. I'm still here. :glasses: Alas, the older you get the more important and persistant this strange, time-sucking thing known as a life becomes. It makes you do nasty things like get up for work at 5:30 in the morning forcing you to choose between sleep and your usual evening internet time. :blank: bleh. (sleep always wins in the end) IDON'TWANNAGROWUPIDON'TWANNAGROWUPIDON'TWANNAGROWUP!!! /Peter Pan :elf:
  15. I number one album I can think of that fits that description is "The Last Broadcast" by Doves. And their other stuff too. And stuff by Elbow if you like them- especially "The Seldom Seen Kid". Also, seconded on Hey Rosetta! and Blonde Redhead's "23" And if you like the Blonde Redhead, check out Caribou- he's awesome.
  16. Hmm... just got their album on a whim today. I don't usually buy albums I haven't heard completely, so we will see, I guess. You lot had better be right about it. :p
  17. Yay, another alias day (with a proper designated area this time... good.) 10th and 11th... I should be able to make an appearance... think I missed the last one.
  18. :laugh3: My first reaction when I saw the thread title was let me guess, that was Vancouver, right? :laugh3: Ah, but it's an old thread. It's weird seeing myself talk in posts I don't remember writing. :inquisitive: Whatever happened to An Cat, anyway?
  19. ^Well I don't think yelling at everyone at the negotiating table in German would have quite the same effect as is does in a room full of hookers...
  20. *points at already existing F1 thread* Yep, we may have a proper championchip race on our hands. Nice way to go out if it all goes kablooey for next year. Great drivers both of them. :nice: I'd be happy if either won (though I'm rooting for Button.)
  21. Or just how aggravating Max Mosely really is...
  22. :stunned: :uhoh: Erm... well... A whole lot of lawyers are going to be making a whole lot of money for some time to come by the sound of things.... :worried:
  23. Wouldn't we all...
  24. I like having lossless files unlike mp3s, I like having something that won't crash or die like a hard drive, and I like having something physical to hold and a book to flip through. And cds force me to listen to an album as an album, which I like.
  25. Frighteningly I'm actually beggining to agree with Trent Reznor- too many trolls in this world, and it's pissing me off. When did the world get so mean and petty? So that's frightened, angry, and sad.
