  1. Hee... I just got Sgt. Pepper's on vinyl at a yard sale on Saturday. :nice: (So yay! I've finally heard it! (Though I still like Abbey Road better... :uhoh:)) And when I was cleaning off the top of the record player to play it, I realized I had left 4 cds there- Kid A, Takk, AROBTTH, and Sam Roberts' first CD... methinks this poll is pretty accurate for me. :D
  2. I wish I could play trombone... sure it is... most of my talents are artistic ones.
  3. I like french toast. :nice: What is it with the waffle wars, anyway?
  4. Talents can be learned with a bit of dedication and practice. Don't give up yet.
  5. It's because we like to make fun of them for being delusional freaks. :sneaky: Frankly, if they have a problem they shouldn't be so easy to mock. :P
  6. Sigur Ros - Takk Radiohead - Kid A (hmm... flip flops alot... been in a Kid A mood lately...)
  7. I can't even see past 30... which is in 3 years. I know I want to be living on my own by then, which means having a job and finishing school. But other than that I think my priorities will have changed a lot by my 30s, so I'm not big on plans for then. Now as for plans for now so that I'll be ready for then... :book2:
  8. Glad I'm not the only one who's fallen completely out of the loop around here. :uhoh:  Wow... over 3000 posts since April... impressive. (says the 4 thousand and change poster who's been here for over 4 years...)
  9. ^Yeah, but like they said, "The plaintiffs were described as 'vulnerable' by psychological experts in the case". Supposedly as I've heard it, there is no "religion" more psychologically damaging to leave. (A clear sign that it really is a cult...) They play dirty. It's a hard balance to find, really, between preserving freedom and not reinforcing something by being to harsh against it, and on the other hand protecting the vulnerable from something that could be really dangerous to them.
  10. It's pretty self-contained and was meant for newbies. You'll be fine no matter how little or how much you know. You might not understand why everyone is laughing or cheering at some of the lines, but you won't miss out on any of the plot because of it. Basically, in the future humanity has managed to build huge starships and go exploring other planets. Some aliens are friendly, some are hostile, and the Vulcans love logic. That's about all you need to know. Gotta love those old 60's episodic shows. ;)
  11. You have to unpack it- it's already in mp3s, they're just zipped together. If you don't have any software that can uncompress it, there are free trial versions of winrar around. Basically, you just open it in winrar, drag the folder of mp3s to where you want them to go, and it will decompress them for you.
  12. Urm... isn't that the working definition of a parasite? Someone or something that lives off of its host but never gives anything back? Sleep well and sweet dreams.

  14. Looks like they're all here: http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/startrek/ or they're [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScHxUopDlKc]here[/ame] and [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7w4vk5OZmn8]here[/ame] on youtube.
  15. ^^They, like many have developed a severe allergy to the mainstream thanks to years of record executive hacks forcefeeding their ears with noxious but addictive chemicals. The side effects of this have many various manifestations, but one of them is overreacting to anything genuine and heartfelt on a major label.
  16. And that in a nutshell is why I stopped listening to conventional radio almost completely roughly around the time X&Y came out. (With the notable exception of Rich Terfry who is awesome.) That's what I want to know... Hey, welcome to the board. :)
  17. Hmm... favourite. Not best, but f a v o u r i t e. Hmm. The Beatles - Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band vs. Coldplay - A rush of blood to the head Sigur Ros - Takk vs. Radiohead - Kid A
  18. Own both, love both, listen to both frequently (though perhaps the Bends a little more often). From my fuzzy non-music-listening memories of the time, Oasis was inescapable at the time though not necessarily seen as part of the mainstream scene because they were sooo 'British' about everything while Radiohead were much more underground and alternative. I don't think I ever even heard of them for another 3 years after that or so. Goodness, now that I think of it I was in 7th grade going through hell on earth in 95... A very good year for music; a very bad year for me. huh.
  19. Well Mr. Quinto certainly doesn't disappoint... it's a really interesting take on the character in a good way... though I'm not quite sure what to make of it for a couple of minor spoilerish reasons... Simon Pegg and Karl Urban are awesome too. :nice: And coincidentally, I was looking for an old Wayne and Schuster sketch the other day and came across this instead: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nv8SAmO7lgM]YouTube - "Star Schtick" from Canada's Wayne & Shuster Show - pt. 1/4!![/ame]
  20. I just saw the new movie. It was soooo good. Non Trekkies will love it. Die hard trekkies will have a hard time arguing with it due to something very clever in the plot. Great cast, too. So is anyone else going to see it? :D
  21. Owowowow! Not fair! Throwing 6 of my 10 or so most favoritest albums at me and asking me to choose. It's like picking between children. Q1 haven't actually heard either... :embarassed: I'm such a bad Beatles fan... :disappointed: Q2 Sigur Ros - Takk... v Muse- Origin of Symmetry :uhoh: Q3 Radiohead- Kid A v radiohead - in rainbows Q4 Coldplay - A rush of blood to the head v Radiohead-Ok Computer :speechless:
  22. Well it beats qwerty spamming like last time... I think... :laugh3: Kind of typical of the board in a strange, sad way that it would happen in a picture thread.
  23. So did I- the song started playing in my head the moment I read the title. ...Till the article stopped all music cold. Good grief. Gunning down your own family members at a wedding because of one Juliet... kids too... "We hope that you choke.. that you choke"
