What are you thinking right now?
I started coming to Coldplaying just a little over four years ago now. :stunned: I feel old. :embarassed:

i'm screwed.
No, they won't. Without a credit card number, there isn't a lot that they even can do. It sounds like a scam to me- make you think you're getting something free, hide a fee in the terms and conditions, and then much later ask for money. If even one in 100 suckers fall for it, they'll make a fortune. Normally legitimate things like that will ask for payment up front. Basically, they have an email address(hopefully hotmail or gmail so they won't have much to go on), a regular address, and possibly an ip address. Ip addresses don't mean much without your isp's cooperation- just ask the record companies that sue anonymous ips for copyright infringment. If you used your real regular address, that could give you problems. I would change it if you can log on. So if emails or phonecalls work, that's great. If they have a problem tell them you don't even have a credit card and wouldn't have signed up if they had clearly asked for one. If that doesn't work just don't pay. What are they going to do? Harass you with emails? Oh no, the horror. Delete them. If they show up on your doorstep to harass you call the police for trespassing. 8 euros a month wouldn't cover the hired help anyway, so it's never ever going to happen. End of story. For all they know you didn't even use your real name. If they wanted money, they should have asked for it up front. If you're still worried then by all means tell your parents because it doesn't matter they are not going to get one cent and there is nothing they can do about it. It's just a scam. Downplay it all as one of those silly internet things, because that's all it is. Hey there's this silly site that asks for money after you sign up for the free service. Aren't they silly to think I'd ever actually pay them now that I don't need them. (And this, in a nutshell, is why I never use my real address when signing up for sketchy sites.)

LOST Season 5: The Official Thread (contains spoilers)
Does anyone really die on the island... I'd say if he didn't die, there's a good reason his mother thinks he did.

LOST Season 5: The Official Thread (contains spoilers)
So I went to look up which edition of Wired was in Daniel's house... and it looks like not only did JJ Abrams edit the latest edition... he took the Lost web maze with him... :dizzy: As if it didn't make my head hurt enough before :bigcry: :cheesy: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/21/arts/television/21wire.html?ref=media http://www.wired.com/wired/

The Sun: Coldplay bang out techno track
Someone ought to slap those hacks. It's one song that is both in 7/4 and at that speed. Not two songs one techno and one jazz... what? Way to turn roadie #42's public posting into an "anonymous source", morons. I can't believe the rest of the media are falling for it. I'd laugh, but it annoys me too much. Now if anyone wants to hear a great pop (not jazz!!) song written in 7/4 to get an idea of how it works, may I suggest this: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uev2J_cBHjQ]YouTube - Broken Social Scene: 7/4 Shoreline[/ame]

help please
What about free fully licensed stock photos like from morguefile? That's what real magazines do. They can't send a photographer to Brazil for one or two shots for the next issue, so they contact a stock photo service instead, which will have millions of photos in it's archives to use. For us mere students who can't afford licensing fees, there are free non-commercial stock photo sources. That's what we were always encouraged to use in our projects when I studied graphic design. There is nothing unethical about it as long as you credit the real photographer- the permission is in the terms of use or user license. You could always print out a copy of the user license if someone was going to have a problem with even that.

Do you ever feel like...
Yeah, nerds are smart, geeks are obsessive, and dorks are socially awkward. So on behalf of the nerds, I'm a little annoyed at that. That guy is clearly a dork. (Doesn't mean he's not a nerd as well, but that's dorky.) A really creepy dork. eugh. Usually I just ignore people like that or try to steer them onto a less personal, less annoying topic. But that's where being a geek comes in handy- lots of random topics to ramble on about until he goes away. :smart:

Chris Martin at age 66
Goodness it's a good thing Chris supposedly doesn't read boards. Hair loss and weight gain are phobias enough, but you lot would add wrinkles to the list. :P

Why Are Festival Line-Ups So Dull This Year?
*Yawns* Music critics need to get off their high horse, stop whining, and stop with the superlatives, because frankly, everyone they talk about can't be the dullest/most bland/ most vapid/ worst... ect. band they've ever seen or heard. It defeats the whole purpose of the -est if they use it too much. I might actually care what one of these guys thought when they started ranting about large swaths of the music scene in general, except that they all contradict each other completely almost all of the time. Since they can't all be right, I've chosen to believe none of them are. It's a very liberating feeling. There is probably no perfect festival, so stop worrying and enjoy your show/life. P.S. Bloc Party were awesome when I saw them live. Not as good as Stars, but awesome all the same.

The 2012 Motor Racing Thread (F1 & More)
Great race, nice to see Button get another win, and great for Braun. Hope BAR's yo-yo curse hasn't followed them and they can stay up top all year. What was up with Rubens at the start though? He punts four cars off the track to take second. :( I wonder how things are going to change once the drivers really start to get the hang of using the slick tires and the Kers (sp?) devices. Were any of them even around the last year F1 had slicks? I quite liked the new guy, though I agree I really did miss just hearing Allen's voice there. At least they kept Martin Brundle around.
