  1. LMFAO. I don't know what to say. Background info: It was a myspace secret gig, announced yesterday, for here in Rhode Island. I wrote a small entry up about it in my GJ: http://www.greatestjournal.com/users/rocknserve/365206.html I can't believe I said some of those things :laugh4: Really though, another tip for concert newbies. Make the band laugh. No matter what. It's such an awesome feeling to make your idols laugh at/with you. ;) :laugh4: I've had both happen to me! :uhoh:
  2. Those are BRILLIANT!!! :stunned: Everyone's work is great, Coldplay fans are the most talented I've ever seen! (No, honestly, this art thread blows away all other ones I've seen on other boards!) And thanks for the support Steph :nice: It truly does mean a lot to know that there are people rooting for me, even in a small way. I've never felt as much pride as I do when I get a great shot. I don't know why, nothing else compares for me. Some people have sports, some have grades. I have photography. It's truly all I feel a passion towards in my life (well, there ARE other things, like writing, etc etc, but....) So yeah. Thank you haha /done rambling?
  3. ^I REALLY LOVE YOUR SIG PICTURE OMG. The Office!!! Another tip: And don't be devestated if a band cancels on you. You never know, it could turn into the best thing ever! *just went to see Kasabian and only 7 people turned up, therefore it got canceled* :laugh4: :laugh4: Best thing ever. Best non gig ever ;) So yeah....
  4. I just kind of balled my eyes out. Is it supposed to be only a minute long?! :bigcry: I need more. I need.... I need them back. now.
  5. :laugh4: I felt kind of..... idiotic doing that. But I saw/met her in Boston and said "hello!" and she was like "Hello, how are you?" and I was all "*BIG SMILES*" then I kind of ran away. LMFAO No no I'm not stalking Carl's girlfriend! Haha, but yeah... We basically have the same hairstyle now. So, points with Carl? Do I get 'em? :P
  6. ^Who is that? I think I know, but the name is escaping me.... :\ *feels foolish for asking!*
  7. Hey, I heard Annalisa cut Carlos' hair on Wednesday. Got any pictures of that? I can't see it under that hat!!! :laugh4: That's so cute. Ok, I'm not going to lie anymore. I cut my hair short because... um.... I knew that Annalisa had her hair cut short, and I was going to see Dirty Pretty Things 3 days after the haircut appointment...... :uhoh: OK I SWEAR I'M NOT AN OBSESSIVE STALKER WHO'S LIVING THROUGH CARL BARAT'S GIRLFRIEND! She's just cool and I really liked the style. And was like hey, maybe he'll like it tooooo.... :bigcry: I couldn't keep that to myself anymore!!!
  8. ^Haha, easy for you to say, not taking pictures... psssssssssh! :P No, definately don't spend all your time taking pictures. I take a lot, but what I do is I limit myself to three songs (which is what the pit photographers with passes do anyways, it's practice!). So I limit myself to three songs, one with flash and the others without. Sometimes, depending on the venue, I cheat a bit and try to catch whatever moments I can. But don't let taking pictures encompass the whole time ;) I sound like a total hypocrit, some shows I go to just to TAKE pictures!! :laugh4: And yeah, I agree with the tips on GA concerts. Comfy shoes (well, ok, unless you're way back in line and you're short like me, I actually do wear heels even when I'm front of the line, but I can handle them... usually... They were a killer at the Keane gig I went to, but it helped :laugh4: ), DON'T DRINK OR EAT. Seriously, it sucks being stuck on the rail and having to pee. But once the show starts, you go right into Concert Survival Mode. Believe me. haha, get their early if it's a band you REALLY have to see front row! And always know the crowd before hand. That way you know if it's a total moshpit, don't stay second-sixth row. That would be a mess. If you don't have the rail and you're going to see a band, like say, Arctic Monkeys, don't stand in the open floor unless you're into getting kicked in the face. Stand on the side or in the back. It's worth it. And if you do stay second row, don't try to steal the rail from the people who are on it. Believe me, YOU WILL GET HURT. :sneaky: Don't bring in a bag. It will kill you if it's a fast moving GA line, people can cut who don't have purses. If you have a camera, stick it in your pocket, bra, or just hold it in your hand if the venue isn't big on the no camera policy. Maybe a small sack that you can keep under your shirt that they won't search, but to keep your ID in. ;) I made the whole Keane GA line in Boston go put their bags away so we'd get in faster, haha. Hey, it worked, we all got the rail! If you go alone, be careful. Know your environment. Know who's around you, and don't talk to anyone who looks even mildly drunk. If someone starts to bother you, remove yourself from the situation as fast as possible, or just stand there and ignore it (which I chose to do at the Strokes gig, lmfao, what an asshole). I could go through a whole range of concert related tips, hell, I'm excercising them tomorrow when I see Kasabian... :laugh4: But yeah. I won't go on anymore ;) If you do go alone, you'll always meet really great people. I've made a lot of friends through GA queu's! A lot of them I see at other gigs and we hang out, it's really cool. Great way to meet guys......... :sneaky: hahaa And believe me, once you go to one gig, you will become addicted. I find myself living for concerts, they keep me going and help me deal with all the stress from school. Don't be shy to check out small bands in small venues, just because something's not getting announced on the radio doesn't mean it won't be AMAZING! The smaller the show, the better! :D /DONE!
  9. ADAM!!!!!!!!! Thank you!! :D Eeeeee, I see him this friday in New York....!!! Oh my gosh. I love him. :nice:
  10. Aw man, you should have caught him and sent him to me... :( :uhoh:
  11. OOOO, Daily Carlos. I'm liking this........
  12. Whoo, good luck! :D Yeah, definately get there way early. I'm not sure what it's like in Australia, the fanbase, but I saw them here in Boston where they're (quite obviously) huge, and I was 38th in line at 5am. A lot had slept overnight from the show the day before. People are nuts! ( :uhoh: even though I plan on doing that the next time they come around, errrr) The Edge one came out great, can't top that! He and Bono "fought" (kind of like the bullfighting thing they did during the Elevation tour) right in front of me! What a moment..
  13. I had a General Admission floor ticket, and was in line at 5am... ;) haha oh man. That was, and still pretty much remains, the greatest day of my life. It's a looong story, but wow. GA is the way to go for a U2 show! (whoa, that rhymed..... :laugh4: )
  14. Hmm, suppose I'll post a few of the pictures for those of you who don't visit the account. It's funny looking back to these, I didn't take photography totally seriously back then (whereas now I take a shot to get an actual SHOT, as opposed to just randomly clicking whenever I feel like it). But this was the first serious concert picture I ever took :nice: I was surprised when it came out, with the peace sign, because I took it on a whim and didn't expect it to have the "bookends" of Edge and Bono in it. I'm still proud of it. But if I were to look back, and compare, say, this picture: To this picture: I see how much I've improved in a years time. And I hope that I can only get better, and hopefully gain some attention as a freelance concert photographer. It definately makes me proud to see professional photographers adding my FLICKR account as a contact :nice: I don't know why I'm rambling about this, but I'm editing a lot of pictures today and really thinking about doing this seriously in the future. So.... Figured I'd ramble here? haha ;) Now, I shall go back to e-stalking Andrew Kendall through his FLICKR and myspace accounts... :uhoh:
  15. I've updated my FLICKR account with my U2 pictures I took nearly a year ago when I had the rail. Wow, I've improved a lot. Or so I think. :laugh4: It's linked in my sig ;) Those of you who have a flickr, and haven't added me, remember to do so!! :D Leave me some comments, it's really appreciated. I just aspire to take a picture HALF as brilliant as this: Copyright: Andrew Kendall 06. Absolutely stunning. Nothing of mine compares to that, wow. But I have been trying! I need a new camera, preferably a Canon. *sigh*
  16. Oh no, don't make me choose!!! :uhoh: Right now, it's We Are Scientists  Dirty Pretty Things or Babyshambles?
  17. Oh my god, I really want those picks!!! :laugh4:
  18. YAY!!!!!!!!!!! There ya go!
  19. It's definately porn.
  20. I count for at least 10 people. FUCKING HOT. :dead:
  21. omg, I want it!!!!! Eeeeeeeeeeee I think I might have one of them on bootleg, actually, but oh well :laugh4: *gets it anyways*
  22. It's so sad, I didn't know it either. The ignorance in the world astounds me, every day.
  23. Not so shocking when you look at the location. Not exactly the hotbed of tolerance. :\
  24. No one knows where Patrick is...... I have no idea... :\
  25. I can't stop staring at Drew right now. Holy crap, he's gorgeous.
