e-Drugs? Getting high the legal way...
http://www.i-doser.com Apparently, this is 100% legal and 100% true. I didn't know about it until last night. My friend was rambling on about how he did the "Astral Projection" dose and explained to me the trip he had where he flew into outer space and saw the galaxy from up-close. I still thought it was bullshit, so I watched one of my friends do a dose of "Content" last night. This is a guy who has never bullshitted me or lied to me before. After he was halfway through the dose, he was in a euphoric high. It was like "Office Space", where he could not be brought down or pissed off for any reason whatsoever. ANYWAY... I think I might try this tonight. Anyone have their own thoughts/opinions?

NEW STARS ON COLDPLAY.COM
Ah, and I'd also like to comment on the lack of Bucket for a Crown, Mining on the Moon, La Mariposa, etc. There's only one long blacked out title, so it looks like one of either Bucket for a Crown or Mining on the Moon got the axe already... I'd imagine it was MotM.

NEW STARS ON COLDPLAY.COM
Everyone just calm down... remember how X&Y, Chris said that they were aiming for a 10 track album, with 5 tracks on each "half" of the album (X half and Y half)? Well, we ended up with 13 tracks on X&Y. Not to mention how many times the tracks were renamed on X&Y and AROBTTH. This album feels like it'll be more like "Parachutes" in the way that it will pretty much reinvent Coldplay from the ground up. I'll admit it made me a little nervous to read that at first... but here's what I think. "Lost!" is a great name for a song. The exclamation point for some reason seems overkill and reminds me of something My Chemical Romance would do, but hey - the title of the song leads me to believe it'll end up good. Ambiguity is Chris's strong point... "Cemeteries of London" might be my least favorite title thus far. It seems so cliché. Maybe it will turn out different, but the title itself is bland and uninspiring. "Violet Hill" is promising enough. Probably a song about losing someone and there being a really sentimental spot to Chris called "Violet Hill". "Poppy Fields" is... well... I'll reserve judgment on this one right now. "42" is by far the best title listed thus far, and the best candidate for album title out of all the tracklisting IMO. It is so abstract it could be basically about anything, but I'm going to grasp at Douglas-centered straws here and say it's about how skewed the meaning of life has become in today's society? Couldn't you just see the headlines... "COLDPLAY'S NEW ALBUM '42' DROPS AT #1". "'42' REASONS COLDPLAY STILL HAS IT". "Yes!" is almost as disappointing a title as Cemeteries of London... but meh... whatever. "LeftRightLeftRightLeft"!? NO! NO NO NO NO NO! This just REEKS of War on Terror propaganda! Not that I'm for the War on Terror, but I absolutely hate it when artists scream their political ideologies from the microphone. Songs like "A Rush of Blood to the Head" and "Politik" are political enough without bashing it in your face, which is why I love them. This just sounds like the lyrics will be something like "We all march in time/We're stepping to your beat/The hypocrites have won/And justice takes defeat", or something really cliche and generic like that. Please let this one get dropped. Please. "Rainy Day" is the only title on the album to give me a real classic Coldplay feel. Why something as simple as a Rainy Day can do that, I do not understand. Keep it. My pick for all the tracks... the one most likely to be a slow ballad is Rainy Day. The one most likely to be their first single is "Lost!". And the one most likely to be the best song on the album is "Violet Hill". </overanalyzing>

Departure I agree with im4dadevils. It seems like they're departing way too far from where they used to be. Compare the old track titles to the new ones - seems like not just growth or a revamp, but like it's a completely different band. The "!" at the end of Lost and Yes seem very My Chemical Romancey. "Cemeteries of London" sounds like a overused cliche you'd hear in a song by The Fray or Aqualung. 42 and Rainy Day are the only two titles that sound like they belong on a Coldplay album.

4th Album - 3rd September
Anyone besides me ever get a little upset with how long it takes Coldplay to put out albums? Almost two years between Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head, three years between A Rush of Blood to the Head and X&Y, and now over two years between X&Y and Album 4. I mean, just look back at The Beatles. They had A Hard Day's Night, six months later they had Beatles for Sale, a year later they had Help!, 4 months later they had Rubber Soul, then it was less than a year again for Revolver. I just don't get it.

Battle Of The Musical Acts 2007: Round 3
Ah yes. I forgot to post my predictions. BIGGEST BLOWOUT: Arcade Fire decimates Death Cab for Cutie. CLOSEST SHOWDOWN: Blur versus Snow Patrol BIGGEST SHOCKER: There really can't be a shocker this time as all the matchups are quite close. I guess the fact that Canada, Scotland, Britian, and the United States are all represented in the quarter-finals is impressive.

Battle Of The Musical Acts 2007: Round 3
1 Death Cab For Cutie vs. Arcade Fire - I don't think this is even really a contest. 2 Blur vs. Snow Patrol - This is the hardest battle for me to choose between yet. Both of these bands are in my Top Five of all time. 3 Radiohead vs. The Beatles - This was an easy pick for me. 4 Sigur Rós vs. Keane - Another tough call, both of these are in the top ten for me. However, I'm going to have to go with Keane because their lyrics actually have meaning :).
