  1. Thanks, it's always nice to hear positive things about our country!
  2. That's news to me. I thought in general, the genesis comes from Chris and he works a bit on it, and gives it to the rest of the band to layer stuff on. I mean, that's how my own band do it. We've created stuff as a group as a jam, but the best ideas seem to find us when we're on our own. I actually would be more surprised if the band need to be around each other all the time in order to create good music. I think they only come together once they have a good base down from Chris or whoever.
  3. So what does this piece tell us? More of the same. I'll start from the top and work down: -Rik writing this blog reconfirms his presence on LP7 -The title reconfirms the LP7 name (A head full of music - A head full of dreams) -Band are recording in LA (Malibu), at least partially. By that I mean, one or more producers/band members are there and they are recording in LA and perhaps somewhere else (like London). -They are past the initial stages of the album and in an intermediate stage where ideas are running free. Nothing terribly new to discuss, but it just confirms to news-hungry fans like us that the album is being worked on. Also, on a less fact-based note, its nice to hear recording is going well, and sessions have been fruitful.
  4. Update from Rik Simpson. Thanks Sparky in the other thread and ColdplayAtlas twitter feed; that's where this piece came to my attention. spaghetti sauce
  5. Have I mentioned the facts thread? *shameless plug Re: LP7 theme. It's hard to tell how the inner workings of the band work. It could go many ways. Is it all Chris's decision and everyone has to deal with it? Is it all the higher ups who make the decision, or at least nudge the band in a certain direction? Is it as democratic as the band say it is and everyone has equal say? I personally have no clue how it works. I mean, I know what they've said in the past in interviews and whatnot, but there's that and what really happens, which could end up being the same thing. I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised either way. I just feel if it were higher ups running the show, we would see it being poppier. If not, I see it being slightly more alt rocky. I'm not quite naïve enough to believe upper management has zero input, so i'd guess that LP7 would be a bit poppy in the style of MX. I mean, I know I would prefer a more alt rock theme, but there's a difference between what I want and what is likely.
  6. I am trying legitimately to find a flaw and cannot find one. I mean, there are some nitpicky things perhaps, but the site is functional and filled with news at the fingertips. I like how clean and organized it is. But perhaps it's 'cause I've been here for nearly 10 years now and have grown used to it. Changing the background and banner is a good way to keep things fresh without changing everything up. Links to popular pages are clearly mapped and logically placed. With my adblocker off, I can see that there aren't a whole lot of ads to begin with which is nice. All in all, a nice easy front page. However, if I were to say ANYTHING bad about it, I'd suggest the following: -Coldplay news ticker (a la r/Coldplay) -Twitter feed -wiki Coldplaying link (and wiki coldplaying back!) -ColdplayingTV/Youtube channel embed with latest video -I'd like to see other (qualified) ppl write some articles about Coldplay, not just Sparky. Not because the articles are bad, but for a change in perspective -Since the forum is such a big part of Coldplaying, integrate the forums a little bit (perhaps like popular forum threads --> on the side panel here, but not quite as intrusive) Although these are all my suggestions, I feel if these were all added, the main site would turn from clean and organized to busy and cluttered. So, I say again, the main site is fine the way it is; add maybe a couple things, but don't stray too far from the current setup 'cause it works fine.
  7. Unbroken appears to be related to the film of the same name where Coldplay wrote Miracles for

Only one hundred and one? lol
  9. He doesn't have to actually be involved in the production if he's committed to other projects / busy. But I would at least reach out to him for advice since he seems to do what he does well. He could suggest some software to use, some equipment, etc.
  10. ^while X&Y is generally known as one of the weaker Coldplay albums (I don't agree, just what the critics say, relax), I would like to see a more balanced setlist. I suppose the greatest number of songs will come from LP7, so that's about 8-10 songs from LP7 alone, with the first and last track probably opening and closing the set (as history suggests). With around 3-4 songs per album and 6 albums, that's 18-24 additional songs. With trying to keep that balance in mind, here's the songs from each album i'd like to see / what we're likely to see. LP1: yellow, trouble, don't panic LP2: This is really tough, cause tracks 1-7 could all make it. But i'll settle with clocks, the scientist and GPASUYF. I don't necessarily like them, but clocks and the scientist are too famous to leave the set. Politik is a fan fav, but doesn't out rank those 2. I could see in my place being replaced by a new LP7 song of the same feel. But I know the band love to play GPASUYF, 'cause they said its one of their only 'rock out' songs. As much as i'd like to see Warning sign and green eyes, it doesn't outrank the ones I listed. LP3: What if, Fix you, and i'd like to see Low LP4: Viva, Strawberry swing, Violet Hill LP5: Paradise, CB, ETIAW LP6: Magic, ASFOS, Midnight Maybe if I had more time i'd rank each song based on likelihood of showing up on the setlist, then sorted by each album, and then make the set list based on the pool of songs. But for now, this will do. Boy, what started out as a short reply to the user above me ended in more thought/work than I planned on.
  11. It seemed he had his own YouTube channel with his own projects before doing the coldplaying news thing, let alone real life commitments to school/work no doubt. Still, he was a natural presenter and I'd at least look to him for a more qualified opinion. I'd prefer if he ran the whole damn thing but again, commitments....
  12. Sorry, must've missed/forgot it but what happened to the presenter we had before? I believe PeriahDark was his username.
  13. Random thought, what would be everyone's reaction if Coldplay came out at the end of the Apple event today and said "as a gift, everyone with an Apple device gets our latest album, 'A Head Full of Dreams' for free on their iTunes account", a la U2?

    What do you mean?
  15. Ooh, sticked thread! Thanks!
  16. Well, when's the Avicii thing/album dropping? Chris should be on that at least....
  17. I see your point. But while we're hovering over the subject, is there anything band related to look forward to? Any appearances Chris is booked for? Anything from Guy's side band Apparatchik? Anything at all?

    The hype starts now http://www.nme.com/news/noel-gallagher/83244
  19. Someone has said this every other week for the past few months. I'm not saying it isn't gonna happen, but lets just wait and see instead of playing hunches.
  20. I wasn't gonna say anything, but he/she also had sub 100 post count too. Anyways, I expect my title as honorary member in August!
  21. Whoa, did not expect this! Uh, didn't prepare a speech, but thanks to everyone who...voted? Thumbs uped? I suspect it was from thumbs up in the facts thread as thats pretty much where I do all my posting. Anywho, a legitimate thanks to those who read my comments and think they're worth mentioning! And a congrats to the new Honoured members. I suspect I'll be one soon with my 10 year join date anniversary coming up. For now though, MOTM will do! Edit: ooooh, the name is orange just as the prophecy said!
  22. Which is good. I rather they stay in the studios to get this album out fasterrrrrr

    Here's Nolley G talking about tracks 1-3 http://www.amazon.co.uk/b/ref=s9_acss_bw_hsb_MusicSli_s2_n?_encoding=UTF8&node=5689474031&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-2&pf_rd_r=0MDAA15V8HC8M9Y5P3CF&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=586495907&pf_rd_i=229816
  24. ^exactly. He's not wearing shoes either, so does that mean the next album is about feet? FFS, gotta stop picking at little things like that. I mean, in some ways if we were picking at little things, we wouldve caught the ghost from the atlas lyric sheet as the LP6 album title, but damn, the hat thing is too far for me....
  25. I say ^that was somewhat news because we already had an inkling of when the album would drop, and from that you could extrapolate when the tour would follow. TBH, I didn't really need Billboard to tell me it would be in summer 2016 if release was late2015-early2016
