Word Of Music's non-fangirl opinion of "Christmas Lights"
Just a generic fangirl. I swear to god I once saw I post exactly like that in the main Coldplay forum. That's why I love WoM.

Worst Cover Art 2010
Atlas Sound was 2009 wasn't it? This will actually be for a 2011 release but it's so bad it belongs in here. Certainly trumps the single cover :laugh3: @ The Coldplay one! (It's kinda true though) The Maroon 5 one is one of the worst I've ever seen in my life. So it's about as good as their music, really.

My Bloody Valentine
IF they release another album (and that's a pretty big if) I doubt it'll match the quality of their 90s material. I have a bad feeling it would be their Fourth equivelent. I'd like to be wrong, but this is usually what happens in these sitations.

Word Of Music's non-fangirl opinion of "Christmas Lights"
I've said the same thing in most of the threads here, it's pretty poor. It just sounds too MOR and safe even for Coldplay standards. I'm glad it's not on the album, but it does make me pessimistic for LP5. Maybe I'm biased, I generally hate all Christmas songs.
-
Did you like 'Christmas Lights'?
Not really. But then, I hate all Christmas songs.
-
Did Will Champion really write "Christmas Lights" ???
I can't stop laughing. I do agree it's a poor song though.

LP5 News! From the Q Magazine - scans in first post (CM: new album inspired by New York graffiti and
Ditto. Another reason I'm slightly pessimistic about the new album. Still hoping it'll turn out to sound completely fucked up though.

You might've seen me walk through town once, it's a small city! :P Didn't go to Perth or Melbourne. Funds wouldn't allow it!

LP5 Predictions
I'd like to be completely wrong here, but I'm concerned the new album will see them go deeper into safer more radio friendly light-rock territory. Christmas Lights and many of the VLV outtakes backs this up for me. Whilst I enjoy songs like The Scientist and Yellow I wouldn't like an album full of songs like that. They need to do something that isn't immediately accessible, darker, heavier, more experimental and just generally more fucked up. Not nessassarily "heavy metal" like another poster suggested, but certainly more stuff in the vein of tracks like Cemeteries Of London, Chinese Sleep Chant, White Shadows, Rainy Day etc... Obviously given it's Coldplay, it would be strange of them to put out an album without any softer ballads but that said I don't want it to be the be-all-and-end-all. The last thing I want is a quiet acoustic album full of happy summery radio friendly tracks, but I just fear that's the direction they're heading in. We don't need another Parachutes. Again, hope I'm proved wrong.

I'm not digging it so far, but I'll reserve full judgement for when I hear the whole thing. I just find Christmas songs so... cringeworthy I guess?

Albums of the Year 2010 - Voting Thread - Closed
If Arcade Fire don't end up being #1 for this year I'm eating Bob Katter's hat. Not that I put AF as #1 myself, but after skimming through this thread it seems that's what's most likely.

The Cameramen
You guys seemed to dig my last band's stuff quite a bit, so I figured I'd see what you think of our new material. It's a kind of a side-project thing, we've recorded an album named Casino, and I'm curious to know what you think the highlights are. http://www.reverbnation.com/thecamerame Cheers. ;)

Arcade Fire
They were great on Jon Stewart

Interpol
Found it. Interpol's darkest and most experimental yet. Hardly their best though.

Interpol
Really? The reports I've read so far say that the leak was a lie. This, or the fact searcing for "Interpol" isn't helpful. Gah, I hate bands with self-titled albums!
