Damon Albarn new band : THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE QUEEN
Damon Albarn: 'our album's a natural successor to Parklife' Star reveals story behind 'The Good, The Bad And The Queen' Damon Albarn has declared The Good, The Bad And The Queen's debut album "the natural successor to Blur's 'Parklife'". Former Clash bassist Paul Simonon, who plays in the new band, also liken the new group's record to the work of his former band. "If The Clash was the sound of the Westway, this music is strongly rooted in the same area. It's a very London record," he explained. The album's London-centric theme may not have occurred without the influence of American Dangermouse, who produced the record. Albarn explained: "When Brian (Dangermouse) came into the picture, everything changed. He said 'come on, let's make a really great English record'. I'd been holding back on writing an album like that ever since 'Parklife'...but I feel with people like Paul and Tony [Allen] and Simon around I can do it." The Good, The Bad And The Queen's self-titled album will be released in January 2007, with single 'Herculean' out on October 30.

The Libertines, Babyshambles, Dirty Pretty Things, Yeti Etc.
i don't get how does this fit into this topic thanks to NME, first of all
-
The Libertines, Babyshambles, Dirty Pretty Things, Yeti Etc.
hmmm...you were calling Babyshambles new single or whatever terrible, correct me if i'm wrong. and ehm, yes... yes, it's uncool, but it has nothing to do with music. i know people who dislike Pete and adore The Libertines, because they JUDGE MUSIC. once again, has nothing to do with music. i dislike his personality, too, but pick out music from personal life it's a MUSIC FORUM, and NOT "The Sun" forum

The Libertines, Babyshambles, Dirty Pretty Things, Yeti Etc.
actually, i have to agree with Mark at this one (OMG WTF) Pete Doherty is a sick asshole. since i saw him injecting an unconscious girl and making a lot of another crap, he is a sick asshole. but i wouldn't mix his personal life and his band's music no-one can deny that Libertines and Doherty were/are very much influential. all those Razorlights, Kasabians, Monkeys come from Libertines and Strokes. it's the new wave of modern British indie pop/rock after all. it's another story that i find all these new british indie bands aka "NME bands" crap... [opinion]the biggest problem with these "NME bands" that they are only successful in UK, they never could and never will make any success in US. probably, the main reason why they are successful in UK is magazines like NME and Q who write extremely overrated reviews of their albums[/opinion] although, i can understand the fans who are "pissed off" because of this thread. i wouldn't like if someone would slag off my favourite band not because of THEIR MUSIC ;)
