  1. Not exactly a lyric, but the start of I Ran Away is great. "1, 2, 3, Will..."
  2. Thanks for the advice :) It'd be great to just sit down and write an amazing song, but for the mean time I'll stick with listening to music and playing chords in some nice funky kind of way. Thanks again!
  3. I know this is an impossible question to answer, but what's the best approach to have when it comes to writing your own music? Learn a load of songs by other people so you get an idea of chord progression and song structure, or just learn all the chords there are and start playing around. Also I noticed some songs are in a certain key, but there are some chords in the song that don't belong to the 7 chords in that key - is this normal and is it ok to use a load of different chords?
  4. Oh right ok, just that someone posted in the 'last song you learned' thread that they can play Bucket For A Crown, I guess they figured it out themself, thanks anyway :)
  5. No problem, there's a load of Coldplay songs tabbed out for drums here: http://www.mattsmusicpage.com/cpdrum.htm
  6. I never thought I'd say this but I'm starting to hate Christmas.
  7. What are the chords for piano? I think I have an idea but I won't embarass myself - I am a beginner after all lol.
  8. Does anybody have Bucket For A Crown, for piano, please?
  9. Bedshaped by Keane, on piano!!!
  10. Yamaha Silver Sparkle Drums: 24” Kick Drum 16” Floor Tom 12” Rack Tom Maple Absolute 14” Snare 2 x Brady 14” Snare All Yamaha Hardware Zildjian: 14” A Custom Hi-Hats, or 14” K Custom Hi-Hats 18” A Custom Crash 22” K Custom Ride 19” A Custom Crash or 19” K Custom Crash 5A Wood – Natural Drumstick Remo skins. I think this Yamaha kit might be quite expensive so perhaps you could buy a cheaper one and then pimp it out with some new cymbals and skins. I got a Premier Olympic for about £230 and so far it's been excellent. I think Will uses different combinations of A and K Custom cymbals from time to time - I've seen A and K hats, A crashes, K crashes etc... in various photos. Alyssa may have a better idea as she is amazing. Hope this helps!

Facebook - great for finding certain band members ;) Probably inappropriate to explain further, so I'll leave it at that for now...
  12. Thanks :) You don't have to tab it all out cos I know how Will plays it live, it's just the CD version sounds really unorthodox, like 3 or 4 different things going on at the same time, like I said with the weird drum machine sounding rolls on the rim and everything, or are my ears really damaged lol?
  13. New star in 2000 - Headlining Shepherd's Bush Empire, 22 October 2000!
  14. What is going on with the drums on the CD version of Don't Panic? I think they're amazing and it's a great song, but I can her rim shots on the snare, regular snare hits, a sort of egg shaker, 'rolls' on the rim which I have no idea how that can be done, and also regular rolls on the snare sort of all at the same time - it sounds great, I just thought I'd comment on it lol.
  15. From the recent blogs on coldplay.com and from what I've heard the band say during and after the X&Y era, I get the impression that Phil Harvey wasn't as involved with X&Y as he was with Parachutes and AROBTTH, but now he seems to be very influential again with Album 4. Is this is true?
  16. Coldplay.com and the Italian Coldplay fan site have both been nominated for awards at tonight's BT Digital Music awards. For what it's worth, Coldplaying.com should definitely have been also, a great fan site, thanks to the people that run it :)
  17. Does anybody know the piano part that Chris plays in Homecoming please?
  18. "How often people change, no two remain the same, why things don't always turn out as you plan"
  19. So many people just listen to what is cool or of the moment. There's a good interview on keanemusic.com with the drummer who comments on how mad it is that top man and shockwaves sponsor tours and bands and stuff just cos it's 'cool', and that it's usually the 'uncool' bands that are the best. some of today's cool kids even think The Beatles are uncool, but they are in many people's opinion one of the best bands of all time. Life's too short - Coldplay rock, as long as we know that that's all that matters - the sheep will come to their senses one day.
  20. Happy Birthday Jonny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a great day! Thank you for being you and for being amazing :D
  21. 2 independently released tracks!!!
  22. Thanks for the news story. Can't wait for Album 4!!!
  23. I just noticed that the band's MySpace has now got the handwritten note theme on it even more, with the little descriptions of each bandmember - Will is scary, Guy is handsome etc lol, that's brilliant, AND Phil the 5th member of Coldplay has a mention too now!
