  1. "The Battle Of Britain" is probably the most boring game this evening! :D Berbatov was even offside! Lucky Manchester. ;)
  2. 18 goals in 7 matches after just 45 minutes! I absolutely enjoy watching Premiere Konferenz (all games simultaneously) today! :nice: Great goals from Villareal and Kiev so far. Bayern Munich leads 2:0. :)
  3. :D Naamvallen! Yeah quite difficult! I was annoyed recently... I went to Leeuwarden at the beginning of this month and when I wanted to order my meal in Dutch, the girl replied in English: "Oh you're German! What do you want for dinner?" Argh!!! I tried to continue talking in Dutch, but she always answered in English. It was hopeless (well perhaps my Dutch was hopeless, too. I don't really know lol)! To cut a long story short... You guys should be more proud of your own unique language!!! :D :P
  4. There's a lot to work for me, too! But I will enjoy every single minute I'm sure. :D German and Dutch are very similar, so I won't have problems to read and understand sentences. But the pronunciation is quite difficult! :P Oh and there's one thing I can't get into my mind either... :D (Dutch) wie = wer (German) (Dutch) hoe = wie (German)
  5. Mag ik mij even voorstellen? Mijn naam is Lars. Ik ben blij u te leren kennen. :wacky: Haha Dutch is my new ambition! I'm currently learning it at university and I love it! My surname actually comes from the Netherlands and I have Dutch ancestors. :D
  6. Interview on spiegel.de ... http://www.spiegel.de/video/video-38592.html
  7. Ahhh you lucky guys! :D Any plans to see Bloc Party live? I could well imagine to attend one of their German concerts in February now. :P
  8. U2 - Stay (Faraway, So Close!) Bring back the memories! It was the first song I listened to in Ireland while driving in a cab from Dublin airport to my residence. :nice:
  9. I think "Intimacy" is the current aspirant for my personal best record of 2008. I can't stop listening to their new songs and I think all of them are amazing and quite unique. My only no-go is still Mercury, but I think this will change sooner or later. Biko and Signs are my favourite ones currently. I still don't know why Bloc Party decided not to add Talons on Intimacy, as this is probably the best of all new songs. Well done Bloc Party! :)
  10. It's a bit strange to know the difference between "ss" and "ß" especially after the "new" spelling reform of 1996. I hope your teacher will teach you the new spelling reform as this is the one which seems to be more understandable for you. :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_spelling_reform_of_1996 Well I can imagine that it's hard for you to memorise which nouns come with der, die or das before them. I had the same problems while learning French and Spanish. :P There are indeed some rules, but I'm not quite sure about them. I remember one of them... ... All words ending with -keit are female so therefore you have to chose "die". -> die Einsamkeit (loneliness), die Heiterkeit (cheeriness) But I think there are indeed some exceptional cases... :dozey: Hey! Another one who is learning German at school! Cool! I can't believe it! :) I come from the Northern part of Germany, but there are also a few people from Bavaria. I don't know Michaela Hoffmann, I'm sorry. :( Perhaps you'll find her on studiVZ (http://www.studivz.net). It's the German version of facebook and nearly everyone from Germany, Austria and Switzerland is registered there these days. Good luck! :)
  11. German: Zitterst du nicht English: If I could eat your cancer I would, but I can't
  12. Neffa - Cambierà I'm addicted to this Italian song haha! :nice: Thank you Premiere Sport for always airing the Ramazzotti commercial at half-time of Bundesliga matches which includes this song! :D
  13. Isn't it next to Luton? I think I remember seing the name on a road sign near Luton airport or is it another one?
  14. I've read a few bad reviews so far, but yesterday I was positively surprised! I don't think "Perfect Symmetry" isn't bad. Although I still don't like "Spiralling" I'm addicted to some of their new songs so far. "The Lovers Are Losing" is incredible, but I was even more impressed by the song "Perfect Symmetry" itself. What a great tune! :)
  15. I think it's just a waste of time to vote for him, nothing more. :dozey:
  16. No one in this nomination can't be taken seriously I'd say. I was reading an article about Rick Astley the other day and he felt ashamed of being nominated. so why should everyone vote for him?
  17. It must be so hard for other people to learn German. I have nothing but respect for people who are trying to learn my mother tongue, because it is really a difficult language especially compared to English. You'll find lots of words who are familiar with English though like house = das Haus school = die Schule or kindergarten = der Kindergarten. :) But be aware of the so called "false friends words" like the word "gift". In English it's another word for a "present" while "das Gift" in German means poison. Your few words are all correct, except the second one. It's called "Wie heißt du?" but you probably didn't learn the umlauts (ä,ö,ü) and ß so far. ;) Keep at it! :)
  18. I don't like Tokio Hotel, but they are successful worldwide especially in France and the United States. They even won a VMA a few months ago for Best Artist and their supporters are very young and crazy, so it will be hard for Rick or U2 to win. ;)
  19. I doubt that Rick Astley has a chance against Tokio Hotel! :D
  20. I had no idea that Kinder Bueno is so popular abroad! :D It's my favourite chocolate besides Giotto and Amicelli while drinking a cappuccino. :nice:
  21. Then here's your medicine... http://www. youtube.com /watch?v=K0DmtmmFEVo Just delete the space in the link! There's no way to embed it directly. :wacky::laugh3:
  22.   [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XzLbGssArQ]YouTube - Alexander Marcus - Papaya[/ame] Seriously, the best shit I've seen for ages! :D
