Anyone heard about a new Polish tv soap called "Londyńczycy" (engl. "Londeners")? It's a big-budget drama following the lives of a group of Poles as they seek their fortune in England's capital. The show aired on TVP1 last week and got one of the best viewing rates in Polish television history. Some scenes are also in English with Polish subtitles. Here's the first part... Wow Julia! I'm so happy for you! :nice: I think doing an apprenticeship is always a good choice, as it's important to get a taste of daily work and stuff these days. More and more companies are looking for students who also did an apprenticeship beforehand. In some cases it will be easier for you to apply for universities afterwards (like in my case). So keep going on! :D BTW, you probably have to attend a vocational school, haven't you? Do you already know which one? :)

Somehow I'm glad that Tottenham won its game last weekend! :D Rumour say that Tottenham has a butcher's at Ibisevic. He's currently topscorer in the Bundesliga and plays for 1899 Hoffenheim. What an amazing and talented player! He and Obasi are responsible for the fact that Hoffenheim who played in the 2. Bundesliga last season is on the top of the 1. Bundesliga now. :laugh3: And Tottenham did pretty well with Berbatov either. ;)

Awww I love it! My both grandma's do speak a bit Plattdeutsch. :laugh3: It's very similar to Dutch which makes it even more difficult for me, because e.g. I always tend to say "Düütschland" instead of "Duitsland" in Dutch lessons. ;)

Ja, "armselig" ist wohl das richtige Wort dafür. :laugh3: Naja Musikfernsehen scheint wohl diese Tage keine Zukunft mehr zu haben. Fing ja schon damit an, dass die BBC vor ein paar Jahren TOTP abgesetzt hat. Congratulations that your German exam turned out to be easy for you. :) The new spelling reform was a bit strange, indeed. In primary school I already learnt the old one so it was harder for me to learn and use the new one, but it's ok now. :) Once I read that people in Hannover do speak "standard German" so no accents there. I'm from the Northern part of Germany and people say that we often speak very slowly. Don't know if it's true. It's harder to understand people in other regions like in Saxony, Swabia or Bavaria. My favourite dialects are the ones in Hamburg and Berlin. Love them both! :lol:

Musste letztes Jahr am Amsterdamer Flughafen Schiphol jeweils beim Umsteigen durch so ein Gerät laufen. Man wurde vorher jedoch auf niederländisch und englisch darüber informiert. Wer sich in seiner Privatsphäre verletzt fühlte, konnte auch "manuell" durchsucht werden. Die Schlange dort war mir aber damals zu lang und ich hab eh nichts zu verbergen, von daher bin ich da einfach durchgelaufen. :D Solang dadurch die Flüge sicherer werden und sich die Wartezeiten verringern, macht mir das nichts aus.

Ohhh I can imagine how you are feel and I have a similar opinion. :nice: I'm studying "International Transport Management" since last month and I'm very happy about it. I was one of 18 lucky guys who have been accepted for this winter semester. :) It has always been a goal for me to speak as much languages as possible properly and these courses of study are a good opportunity to let my dream come true. At the moment I have 3 English teachers (1 from the USA, 1 from Scotland and 1 from England) and I'm very glad about it, as the English lessons are at the highest stage. :) I also began to learn Dutch, which is not very difficult so far, because German and Dutch are quite similar. The pronunciation is hard though. Next year lessons in Spanish and French are following where I can refresh and improve my current skills in both languages again. You also have to spend 2X 6 months abroad. My first new home will probably be New Zealand (Auckland) next year, I'm not sure about the second one though. I'd be tempted to spend some time in Chile or Argentina to become more fluent in Spanish. But it's still a long way to go. ;)

Panathinaikos Athens - Werder Bremen is just scandalous! :angry: People in Athens use green laser pointers to irritate Werder's goalkeeper Vander, Diego and the English referee. For a moment I thought Riley would abandon the game, because he often stopped the game (therefore we had an additional time of 4 minutes yet). The same already happened a few weeks ago at Panathinaikos - Internationale. :veryangry2: But the UEFA doesn't care... :dozey:
