I'm a worrier too, but I honestly don't think we have anything to worry about here... After fans from here flying from all over the world to different continents for so many other events, and then meeting and talking to the band and their crew about it, I'm certain they knew what would happen :)

Of course they won't cancel the whole thing!!! I would guess the problem is around a surprise, and that it might not be able to happen, but I'm sure most of the evening is already planned and will happen. And they did know that people would come from abroad for this, check out their original message!!

It won't fall through, I'm sure of it :)

It can be very hard to book a boat for a weekend at late notice, though.

I understand why you wouldn't want to try the charity again, but Debs would NOT think you were being bad, she would completely understand, and if she could help she would. Really hope it all works out :)

Carrie, you need to go above her head, as she's just using the rules she has in front of her. Either speak to someone higher up who could use their discretion, or write to Debs. I'd do both straightaway, or maybe try the first and then write to Debs. If it wasn't in the terms and conditions it's not acceptable, and like I said I'm not sure it's legal.

I'd get in touch with Debs to explain the situation. You're coming from abroad with all the costs and planning that requires, and they DIDN'T put that in the conditions, did they? NOT GOOD ENOUGH (and if they didn't put it in the conditions I'm don't think it's legal either) :(

I don't think we'll need ID to enter the party as: 1) most of us have met in person already and will vouch for the others (who we'll be able to identify via stuff we've said in PMs etc) 2) the people from the band know what many of us look like (and most importantly Ian and Jen) 3) Ian has the email address of everyone to check. 4) There will be 100 people waiting for the boat - what are the chances of another group of 100 people turning up all together and trying to impersonate us all?! :laugh3:

It's a good suggestion but I think until you hear otherwise Nancy is busy arranging something for her ticket.

I might have a spare - I'll know later today or tomorrow :) If anyone can help with accommodation (even a sofa to sleep on!) in case I miss the last train home that would be much appreciated!
