[19-Dec-2010] Crisis: Coldplay in Liverpool (ROYAL COURT THEATRE, 1 ROE ST, L1 1HL)
They must surely understand the situation with this weather if you explain. It might be a good idea to get your friend's credit card information that she paid for the tickets with. Can your friend definitely not make it? If so, that's really too bad  Perhaps it's not too late to offer the ticket here for sale though so she can at least get her money back? Glad you made it safely

[19-Dec-2010] Crisis: Coldplay in Liverpool (ROYAL COURT THEATRE, 1 ROE ST, L1 1HL)
Oh, sorry to hear that :( Heathrow doesn't look too good, but they better get themselves moving tomorrow or else :veryangry2: Again, best of luck, and don't worry about the hair and stuff, making it is the only thing that matters :)

[19-Dec-2010] Crisis: Coldplay in Liverpool (ROYAL COURT THEATRE, 1 ROE ST, L1 1HL)
That was hours ago. The runways at Gatwick, for example, opened just before 3pm, though there are plenty of delays and cancellations still of course. Your airline should tell you what's happening, and if you're online at the airport you can visit your destination's website to see what's happening. Best of luck, hope you get on a flight asap :)

Checked the airports (well two) and Gatwick's closed to arrivals until at least 3pm, and Heathrow until at least 4. :(

Ah yes of course, they had to take the bus from the airport. They've got plenty of time to make it, and while it may take longer, I'm sure they'll get there :) I'm also sure the Tube's running fine. Carrie's on the train to Liverpool now :)

Closed to arrivals? What about planes that have flown from countries far away? Why didn't Craig, Roos and Anna take the Tube, is it closed?

[19-Dec-2010] Crisis: Coldplay in Liverpool (ROYAL COURT THEATRE, 1 ROE ST, L1 1HL)
Maybe it was only Kent last time, I don't know how bad the snow was in other areas, but yeah it was a huge problem. Even the night at the Dublin Castle after the boat (the week before the snow) it showed a perfect service from here to London when there wasn't one... ANYWAY it's great to hear it was accurate today for London to Liverpool, that's the main thing for everyone now, thanks a lot :)

So glad you got home ok (finally) Mich :) Is that site accurate now? Last time they got into quite a lot of trouble because it was so inaccurate (showing trains running when there weren't any etc) :( Really hope you make it if the gig's on :)

[19-Dec-2010] Crisis: Coldplay in Liverpool (ROYAL COURT THEATRE, 1 ROE ST, L1 1HL)
Sorry guys  Like I say, that's the worst-case scenario but maybe I shouldn't have posted... <edit> I guess I just wanted to say that if the gig is cancelled it will be because the band have absolutely no choice whatsoever. I'm a very very careful driver Anna, but some of the roads are just crazy around here. We had rain that froze then snow on top of that. Hopefully I'm just worrying too much because things are bad around here after just a small amount of snow...it doesn't look that much better in many other parts of the country though :( Oh yes, I'm sure the trailers are fully snow-prepared, good point, but even so... And, of course everyone is welcome at mine for a party!! - bring a bottle (of anti-freeze for my car) please :P

[19-Dec-2010] Crisis: Coldplay in Liverpool (ROYAL COURT THEATRE, 1 ROE ST, L1 1HL)
Absolutely - they will be desperate not to cancel... The thing is, though, if it's not safe to travel, it's not safe to travel. In Kent today we were told not to risk driving unless it's impossible to avoid. And there's an emergency train schedule tomorrow and...we only had about an inch of snow today here (to be fair though I think the problem this time is the ice lying under it). And the problem isn't so much the snow and ice in Liverpool or Newcastle, as once we're actually there in the town centre it's (relatively) no problem getting to the gig...it's the conditions everywhere else that people have to travel through to get there. The band obviously have much better travel options than us, but what about the equipment? I skidded in the car a few times today and once almost crashed into oncoming traffic...not fun. I sure wouldn't like to be driving a trailer full of equipment from Liverpool to Newcastle (and that's assuming it's already in Liverpool). There's also got to be a point at which, even if the band and equipment can get there, it looks like a substantial part of the crowd probably can't...can they really go ahead with the gig then? So fingers and everything else crossed. Sorry for the negative post, this really is worst-case scenario, but things aren't looking great right now :( On a more positive note, we had all this just ten days ago, so surely lessons have been learned by the highways agency and the rail network? They announced today they're running 'ghost' trains tonight to keep the lines as clear as possible, which they didn't mention last time. Again, fingers crossed, and Zeus-willing, everything will be running well enough for us all to get there :)

[20-Dec-2010] Crisis: Coldplay in Newcastle (JOURNAL TYNE THEATRE, WESTGATE RD)
As I wrote elsewhere, if someone does have a spare ticket they couldn't hope to go to a gig with a nicer person and more passionate fan than AnnaElisabeth :sunny: Good luck Arwen too, and welcome to the forum Mallenbeadle :nice:

Coldplay to play intimate charity gigs in Newcastle and Liverpool in December!!! :D
Hmmm, well they're saying quite possible heavy snow again in the south-east this weekend, and a few days ago they were saying the north-east was going to be the worst-hit area...it's still a little way off for them to accurately predict, so let's hope all that's wrong :\ Oh, I really hope you can get a ticket, and if anyone reading this has a spare then you couldn't hope for a nicer person to go to the gig with than AnnaElisabeth, I guarantee it :)

Biffy Clyro VS. The X Factor
I'm no X-factor fan but Matt Cardle's an incredible singer (when he's not sick) with a lot of passion. He's been in a band for years and years, I believe they have two or three albums you can buy, but they couldn't get a record deal so he tried the X-factor instead (?) so in that sense I guess you'd say he's 'sold out'. Many of Horror was already subtitled 'When We Collide' by Biffy on some listings wasn't it? So it's not a huge name change. 'Many of Horror' doesn't make sense, and of course you can't use that title for a song hoping to be Christmas number one. [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Many-Horror-When-We-Collide/dp/B0032YXPXA]Many Of Horror [When We Collide]: Biffy Clyro: Amazon.co.uk: MP3 Downloads[/ame] And they have no say whatsoever in it being released afaik, as long as they're paid royalties, so I have no idea why people say they're selling out - it's out of their hands.
