Matt McGinn interviewed on Radio Kent (UK) today
Well, the music's been surprisingly good so far! It sounds like the interview will be sometime between 2 and 2:30, as I think the School Report's on then (a delightful section where Pat chats to a local primary school kiddie or two about their favourite lessons and whatnot). Gotta love local BBC radio!

Matt McGinn interviewed on Radio Kent (UK) today
Most welcome guys :nice: Tracks you'll probably hear if you listen to the whole show: Fix You Feargal Sharkey - A Good Heart Belinda Carlisle - Heaven is a Place on Earth Something by Bob Marley (probably Three Little Birds or Could You Be Loved) Something by Earth, Wind and Fire Spandau Ballet - Gold Amy Winehouse - Back to Black etc... either a heads up or a warning! :laugh3:

Matt McGinn interviewed on Radio Kent (UK) today
Matt McGinn (author of 'Roadie: My Life on the Road with Coldplay') is being interviewed about the book this afternoon on the Pat Marsh show, which is on from 1pm till 4pm. Pat's a pretty good interviewer, very light-hearted and non-controversial but often gets good insight from guests. It'll probably only be for about five minutes I'd guess. The rest of his show's a mix of a lot of human interest and jokey banter. Oh, and lots of 80s music :P Anyone in the UK can listen for up to seven days afterwards (I think) on iPlayer. I'd record it but I don't know how... http://news.bbc.co.uk/local/kent/hi/tv_and_radio/

The Official Club Football 2014-2015 thread
Also good to see Villa, Chelsea, Man Utd, City, even Arsenal fans on the hardcore football forums giving Spurs a huge amount of praise for today's performance. These last two games may be the high point of our season like I said, and if so I'll take that, and just look forward to European qualification next season. Today was (almost) as good as beating Arsenal 5-1 :)

The Official Club Football 2014-2015 thread
I rarely bother coming in this thread due to Mark and his usual trolling, stalking me around threads last time I posted on here. (Didn't he say Spurs and City would be also-rans this season, as well as insisting Spurs would be relegated last season, when we almost made Europe - but then again he knows nothing about football, clearly - who does he support again?) Our best performance of the season today (having watched every single game). We ran Chelsea absolutely ragged, and that was before Drogba's half-injury (hissy fit?) and Terry's sending off. I know I'm biased, but I honestly think that was the best team performance I've seen from anyone except Barca this season. We should have won by four or five easily. We held on by the skin of our teeth against Arsenal, and quite brilliantly, but this was an imperious display. I'm no great Harry fan, but my goodness even if we don't get fourth place today's performance made the whole season worth it. (Having said that we still managed to almost contrive a draw in extra time - there's no relaxing as a Spurs fan until we're at least 3 goals up :laugh3:)

Hey guys :) I haven't been on the actual board for ages, and now I'm back it just seems like there's fighting everywhere... Anyway, hope all are well :nice:

PETITION TO SAVE THE FORUM
You make some really great points KoC. One or two I'm not so sure of, but most are really valid and well thought out. I'm just focussing on one thing though, as someone who's chatted with an (underage) teen who was contacted within hours of signing up and making her first post on here...(the only teen I've ever talked with privately afaik) How can you say this, why are you so sure?

Adiós.
My goodness, I've been browsing on here for the first time in a long while the last few days...and I see all this fighting (caused by the same person yet again, as it has been for years) and now I see this...one of the nicest people on here, feeling kicked out...I don't know what to say... Dear Lore, it's been my absolutely pleasure to meet you here, and I know we'll stay in touch. Your every effort on this forum has been so much appreciated, not only by me, but no doubt thousands of people who've visited here, and I've spoken with many many who love you  And, I don't know if Cris told you, but I have a (very small but very nice!) little gift for you when I visit your wonderful country later this year :) It's your great loss my friend, Lore was not only one of the biggest assets of this site as a mod and a member, she's also one of the sweetest and kindest people you could meet...

Coldplay's Closest Attempt To Make A "Perfect Song"
Oh my goodness, I forgot Warning Sign :o Put the live version at the top of my list, and thus getting my vote :)

Coldplay's Closest Attempt To Make A "Perfect Song"
A Spell A Rebel Yell is a fifth or sixth rate Stone Roses rip-off. It's embarrassing imho. My present top five album tracks (in no order) GPaSUYF Politik Lovers in Japan (the original, not that awful and unnecessary Osaka Sun Mix) Violet Hill Everything's Not Lost

LIT the best gig opener they have
I've changed my mind on this, probably because I saw LiT open so many gigs last year and the year before...and then we have the same song (but with lyrics) closing the set. Remembering Brixton, I think Square One's the best opener still, such a shame they don't play it (or so many songs off x&y) anymore. And GPaSUYF not full version - an absolute travesty! We get Billie Jean instead of White Shadows, A Message, Don't Panic, Trouble, etc etc etc. What next, a harmonica-only version of Politik?!!

Messing around with the Coldplay.com store?
How about asking the store rather than on here?

The best photo of a concert!
Personally I think the best photo from a Coldplay concert ever is the one by Jayzo (Chris) as seen on the Lovers of Lovers in Japan group

Liam Gallagher Ditches Oasis 2.0 Moniker: “That Was a Shit Name Anyway”
The guy talks out of his bottom, constantly, and has done for years. The fact he has a mouth is either a cunning disguise or purely coincidental. And, I'm sorry, but anyone who takes anything he says seriously needs to buy a new shite filter!

Chris Martin at Evening Standard Film Awards
Thanks Mich! :nice: Did Steve Coogan go in character as Alan Partridge for the night? :o

Just Like Heaven
"Show me, show me, show me how you do that trick The one that makes me scream" she said "The one that makes me laugh" she said And threw her arms around my neck "Show me how you do it And I promise you I promise that I'll run away with you I'll run away with you" Spinning on that dizzy edge I kissed her face and kissed her head And dreamed of all the different ways I had To make her glow "Why are you so far away?" she said "Why won't you ever know that I'm in love with you That I'm in love with you" You Soft and only You Lost and lonely You Strange as angels Dancing in the deepest oceans Twisting in the water You're just like a dream Daylight licked me into shape I must have been asleep for days And moving lips to breathe her name I opened up my eyes And found myself alone alone Alone above a raging sea That stole the only girl I loved And drowned her deep inside of me You Soft and only You Lost and lonely You Just like heaven

Just Like Heaven
One of my favourite songs of all time, just found this beautiful ukulele cover. I was to post it in another thread but thought, why not, this song deserves it's own thread: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZDbrpTgMa8&feature=PlayList&p=92DA361BE4FDBEDD&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=71]YouTube- Just Like Heaven - The Cure (ukulele cover)[/ame]

A Rush Of Blood To The Head to feature on Royal Mail stamps (CP stamp now available! 7th Jan '10)
Very much doubt it Ange! I have one or two spares left. If anyone wants a postcard from the UK with one of the stamps on it PM me (postage abroad - airmail - is two first class stamps and one second class - actually about 10p more than the actual rate, but if you want a postmarked ARoBttH stamp you'll just have to settle for having other 'generic' stamps on there :P)
