  1. I guess so...let's hope it's better than the last one! http://www.thisiskent.co.uk/news/Fans-flock-Depp-film-set/article-2905382-detail/article.html <edit> Looks like Simon Pegg's been here recently filming something too.
  2. Lots of famous people live around here, too many to mention. Stranger for me is friends from school or uni who are now famous (on TV, MPs etc). They've been filming a lot of movies at the stately home/park just up the road the last few years. The new Sherlock Holmes film was there a few months ago, and then Johnny Depp for the new Pirates film (just a couple of scenes) a couple of weeks ago. I did try to track down the most loveliest of lovelys Natalie Portman a couple of years ago when she was here for The Other Boleyn Girl to buy her a drink, but unfortunately for her she missed me  :laugh3: Is that Davy Jones from The Monkees? Legend!
  3. Wow, it's doing really well, great stuff :)
  4. Ah, I've been to a fair few countries around the world, so I'm really lucky :) But because I lived in Asia for most of my twenties I've neglected the UK so much, I can't wait to travel around more :)
  5. I've never been, I feel pretty ashamed about that :embarrassed: I've only been on a few flying visits to Manchester too. I lived in Leeds for three years for uni, but I've missed out on an awful lot of the wonderful places north of London. At least I'm going to get to visit Geordieland for the first time ever :)
  6. For all you lucky lads and ladies heading to Merseyside, wish I could join you!!: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZQ4HJPVoTw]YouTube - The Stone Roses - Mersey Paradise (audio only)[/ame]

This (or Made of Stone by The Stone Roses) is my favourite song ever: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxC0rKbLP7M&feature=related]YouTube - Pixies Brixton Academy 09 Oct 2009 Gouge Away[/ame]

Pixies are the best band ever, especially live, I can't believe people have had the chance to listen to them but still haven't, that's scary, seriously!! This was actually the last gig I went to, shamefully, but it was the Doolittle anniversary tour and it was AWESOME. I'm just a bit out of shot, but not far (slightly out of the mosh and nearer the bar :)) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZmlPjRKkfA]YouTube - Pixies Brixton Academy London -Where Is My Mind - 09 Oct 2009[/ame]
  9. I'll usher you into bed then Natascha...it's thataway ---> :P Sleep well!
  10. Yep but there's more on its way isn't there? At least here in the south east that's what we've been told to expect...:(
  11. Nancy told me about this. I'm shocked and incredibly sad...
  12. Hello everyone! Hope all are well  :laugh3: I'll never forget the summer I worked as an usher in the cinema when Free Willy 2 was on...the questions I got asked...and it was usually the grandmas... :embarrassed:
  13. If snow's heavy, then they're routinely cancelled - our fifty-years-out-of-date rail infrastructure just cannot cope :(
  14. If Prince could live up to the kind of stuff he was writing almost 25 years ago all his fans would be very happy!!
  15. OK well I guess for now the list here isn't that comprehensive, and I'll just go on and make the threads I make, and if they get merged later it's no problem at all :)
  16. That's the purpose of the thread though, isn't it? So we don't need to search?
  17. Of course, but stuff on these forums contributes, doesn't it? If only to, sometimes, be the touchpaper for first contact between a collector and someone who's able to acquire items? Yes they're clearly radio distribution. There's no public release. No-one's pissed at the band, but it's another bit-of-a-balls-up (from many fans' point of view, when a general physical release would be such a treasure) from Coldplay HQ, hope you can understand that.
  18. Very many thanks ceol :) How did you find the first links, am I just being blind? I made The House of Love one, so it can be added to the first post: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74331
  19. Probably their most famous song (and so not necessarily the best): [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZxhAkb8GAA&feature=related]YouTube - The House of Love - Shine on 1987[/ame]
  20. The more we bump these threads the higher it'll go  Collectors look on here for tips, and feed off the stuff we can't afford to buy :( No doubt someone will come in with a stupid offer, like the same item from another thread on here, and it'll be taken off ebay and sold for a silly amount considering what it is... No good for whoever buys it, because it won't be worth what they're paying, and no good for us because yet again the truest fans can't even buy the song (which in some cases they spent freezing hours being a free extra in the video for) in a physical format that would mean the world to them...
  21. Any fellow fans here? I've very recently rediscovered them and am enjoying some of their songs enormously :) Dark, rich, complex - like the finest, naughtiest chocolate when you're on a diet :sunny: How about these two for starters? (I know I've posted the link for the first one a few times recently but it's a good starting point) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXOgRvj76zI&feature=related]YouTube - HOUSE OF LOVE - Christine[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fp4abwz7CoE&NR=1]YouTube - House Of Love-Beatles And The Stones[/ame]
  22. I was never a Prince fan until I went along to a gig at his O2 run knowing that at least I was in for a night of hits...but I was gobsmacked. That man is amazing. Up with Hendrix musically and technically, he's got to be. An absolute virtuoso; musical genius on so many levels. It's such a shame he's long gone the wrong side of loopy and control-freak, and sues all his fans who put his images or vids online. As a result he has no online presence, and is very very quickly being forgotten. It also doesn't help of course that his best work was more than twenty years ago, and that he's been pushing out absolute shite for fifteen years; he's doing himself no favours. His best stuff is up there with the classics and simply deserves to be remembered, imho. Purple Rain indeed :sunny: If people who didn't like him could only hear the bootlegs I've got of his O2 shows (four out of the twenty-one) they'd be blown away, but if I upload them and post the link I'm running the risk of having my internet shut off by his lawyers...
  23. Why is the Newcastle thread and social group so incredibly dead, and this one so active...I'm going to the wrong gig
