I've found this thread in the 4th page...  Where are the Turin Brakes, where? So, it's time for an update. This is the last newsletter from Olly: It's been a long time, we've been rather busy settling in to our studio space and working on Opus 3. So far we've been doing things in our own favourite way and so far the results are keeping us happy, maybe happier than before. After expecting to be flown cargo to USA to work with a selected producer we finally played some stuff to our label people that we'd been getting up to ourselves. Fortunately it left them clapping and smiling and requesting more, leaving us to direct the sound. Since then we've been doing just that, a process which some close friends have described as pressing buttons and laughing. Its hard to say how its sounding really, at the moment its quite varied, but it all feels good. We seem to be going from future jazz folk to Chilli Peppers to old fashioned Turin B's. The excitement (not enthusiasm) for each track fades when we start working on the next one, we're taking it and its taking us to warm places. A track temporarily named Sunshine would go down well in this weather , whilst "Come and Go" ( temporary name ) feels a bit like sitting down after a hard sweat on a hot sunday. We're hoping to carry on, we know there's help if we need it but we're doing well so far. We're going to try to play some new stuff at the somerset house show, being in the studio has left our well oiled live machine a little un-oiled but we'll just have to crank it! We should have french band Pheonix supporting at that show' they're very good and sexy and took us on one of our first tours of the UK. This would be a good time to thank everyone who helped with creating the studio, all the organisers and the builders, thank you., we're cosy. Other than that I got no idea whats going on, Hope everyones well....has anyone worked out how to work these computers?
