  1. No, I keep checking youtube. Did anyone see Jonny fall during In My Place? There was a video that mentioned it, but it was so far away that I couldn't see it.
  2. I have a UK driver's license - think that will work to establish residency? They're valid for something like 30 years, unlike the 4-5 years here in the US.
  3. Denise! Great pictures. I'm glad you made it back home, how was U2? Too bad we don't have pictures like that from Tampa. Did you see the pictures I put up on the Postponed Tampa thread? They're pretty funny.
  4. Here's the thread for the 98.7 Stripped concert. http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=59547
  5. Someone on the board went, there was a separate thread on the main forum. Turned out to be 5 song acoustic set, with a few pre-selected questions. I'll look for the thread.
  6. If you're in the Rancho Dominguez area, you're in Carson, and very close to the Home Depot Center which is on th campus of Cal State Dominguez Hills, where Coldplay played July 19, and Home Depot Center is the home field for the LA Galaxy and Chivas soccer teams. After the Stripped performance, Coldplay flew from Burbank in the helicopters to get to Irivne for their concert July 19. Too bad about the Doubletree.
  7. Hey, that's my old stomping grounds. I grew up in Redondo Beach/Torrance and I miss it...Riding my beach cruiser along the Strand from Redondo to Hermosa to Manhattan Beach. Watching all the beach volleyball, hanging out at the Redondo Pier. I haven't been back in a long time - and we're really not that far away, but Newport/Laguna/San Clemente are where we go now...My dad and his wife live in Palos Verdes. Let me know if you get down south to Irvine-ish. What airport are you flying back out of? John Wayne, or do you have to deal with the hell that is LAX? I avoid Los Angeles-downtown, if I can help it - I went to college there, and while it was ok for 4 1/2 years, unless I'm going to a play or something up at Staples Center or the Nokia Theater, I stay far far away from Hollywood/LA.
  8. Stop, just stop it...I just checked our United ff miles, and we have enough for one ticket. But it's not the "discount" ff ticket, it's major miles. Grrr...it's my birthday too, we could have a hell of a party in London for your husband and me, right? But this would totally negate any chance of me coming back to Tampa - well, unless *I* have enough ff miles in my own acount. hmmm... My husband knows how depressed I've been - he might get lucky if he agrees to this, lol.
  9. Julie, I totally understand. I saw them 2 nights in a row in California, in July, and after a week, had such withdrawals that I decided I needed to see their last show in Tampa. I made arrangements, booked my flight and hotel, and flew all the way across the US from California to Florida (2 flights, 6 hours flight time). Only to land and find out the concert was "postponed." I could not change my travel plans without it costing a lot of extra money, so I stayed in Florida, meeting up with some other coldplayers, and we tried to have fun. But I'm still so sad that I didn't get to see them one more time. I keep waiting for the reschedule or even cancellation information. I have an awesome audio recording of the second show and I keep listening to it - hearing it over makes me realize how much I didn't catch when it was live, Chris's little quips and remarks, his shout outs, and jokes. It's horrible that they have this kind of effect on people! :bomb:
  10. Butterflies come in tissue-like paper, flourescent, and shiny metallic. From the Irvine, CA show July 19, 2009.
  11. Ah, you're in the Valley today. Hot and smoggy. I'm about 70 miles south. Good news about the free ticket - I tried to give up my seat when I left Tampa, but there were some no-shows at the last minute and they put me on the plane  An extra hour of waiting would have been worth the Delta voucher.
  12. No, don't think so - there are other speculations about the Oracle. Thought it might be their vocal coach, but isn't her name Mary?
  13. We have 2 dvr's and one of them is *mine.* My kids know not to touch anything on my dvr. I could watch on youtube, but I prefer watching it on tv. Better to see the blue of Chris's eyes :o
  14. The Rules: 1.Albums must BE NO LONGER THAN 42 MINUTES PRODUCTION MUST BE AMAZING, RICH, BUT 2.WITH SPACE, NOT OVERLAYERED, LESS TRACKS, MORE QUALITY. GROOVE AND SWING Drums/rhythm are the most crucial thing to concentrate on; diff. between bittersweet and science of silence 3. COMPUTERS ARE INSTRUMENTS. NOT RECORDING AIDS. 4. IMAGERY MUST BE CLASSIC, COLOURFUL AND DIFFERENT. COME BACK IN GLORIOUS TECHNICOLOUR. 5. MAKE SURE VIDEOS AND PICTURES ARE GREAT BEFORE SETTING RELEASE DATE. And highly original. 6. ALWAYS KEEP MYSTERY. Not many interviews 7. GROOVE AND SWING. RHYTHMS AND SOUNDS MUST ALWAYS BE AS ORIGINAL AS POSSIBLE. Once jon has melody, twist it and weird it sonical 8. Promo/review copies to be on VINYL. Stops copying problem, sounds and looks better. 9. Jaqueline sabriado, ns p cc, face forward 10. Think about what to do with charity account. Set up something small but really enabling and constructive. Ref; j oliver fifteen. ***** I like the part about the drums/rhythm being the most crucial thing. Who is Jaqueline Sabriado?
  15. Chris is just so darn endearing - love this interview. It's locked now on the dvr, along with World Stage, and SNL to prevent accidental deleting.
  16. Wembley Sept 18 is my birthday - sucks. I just wish they'd say something, anything, about Tampa, then I can move on...lol
  17. Boo hoo, it's been 4 weeks from yesterday and 4 weeks from today. And 1 week since I should have seen them in Tampa. Withdrawal and waiting for a reschedule announcement is awful.
  18. The recording for Irvine is amazing. I keep listening to it. You can find it here. http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=60042 It's a .rar format, so I don't know if you know how to convert it. I had a hell of a time getting it to my itunes, then on to my iTouch. It has everything from blue danube, to viva remix and the escapist.
  19. Yeah, $2400...wow...
  20. Marie, I so agree with you. He's so cool. I keep watching this video. http://www.thesoundla.com/?nid=61&sid=466 I'd be happy to massage that back pain away... I was at that concert, too.
  21. (And for Dianne&Marie, re: our discussion about multi-talented Mr.Champion:smug:) The man's talent has no limits. :bomb::bomb::bomb::sweatdrop:
  22. Kelly! You're back! Yes, we're all meeting back up in Tampa. :)
  23. Uh huh. :wink2: We still need those drinks at the Hard Rock. So my husband keeps making jokes about Wembley and it's pissing me off, because I know he's not serious.
  24. Someone had audio recorded the last concert I was at. I downloaded it right away, but it wasn't until yesterday that I managed to finally get it in my itunes library. I spent hours trying to get it in the correct format, and labeling and organizing the setlist in the right order. Oh my gosh - while i had awesome memories of the concert, it's like sensory overload, and listening to just the audio, I missed so many of the things that Chris said - his random fuck-ups, his improvs, his "let's go boys," and he did a lot of shout-outs. I had no idea he had done so many shout-outs. We knew one of the girls, because we spent time talking to her waiting for the meet and greet. It's funny, I went to 2 shows, 2 nights in a row, but it's the second show that had way more impact and it's the one I want to remember. Both were fantastic, but I suppose it's the memories of meeting Will and Chris and how much better our seats were, and all the pictures I took. So I did email Anchorman last week, with our pics from Tampa, but I never heard anything back - oh well, I supposed I'm glad to see the puppets are doing well in Denmark.
  25. And that's when they'll reschedule the postponed Tampa show? Right? Once again, I will fly from California to Tampa to see them.
