There's no wind, so no smoke is blowing this way, which is good for everyone. When the winds kick up, it's awful for the firefighters. What's burning now are canyons in the foothills, hard to contain, on the ground. So they're pretty much attacking it from the air, but having to evacuate thousands of people, which has to be done by the roads and foot. Last week, there was a fire not too far from my dad's house (they were in no danger), that is now 100% contained, but we could see the orange glow from 25 miles away. (Reggie, it was in Palos Verdes - I don't know if you went to that side of the hill when you were down here, it was near the Trump Golf Course). It made for gorgeous sunset that night. :(

It's been so freaking hot here - 103 over the weekend, and we spent most of it outside. My daughter had a 3 day soccer tournament (they made it to the championship game, which went to double overtime, then they lost 2-0 on penalty kicks :( ) And we had a neighborhood block party, which was all outside. And then Def Leppard was outside last night. I'm afraid of my next electric bill because we've been running the air conditioners for days. The fires in Los Angeles are horrible, but fortunately for us, we are way south, about 80 miles. Last night, though, there was an orange tint to the moon. Last year, we were very close to several Southern California fires - they pretty much had us surrouned on 3 sides, no danger to us, but schools were closed for 3 days due to the smoke and poor air quality. I hate this time of year, we haven't had measurable rain, it seems, in years, and it's so dry.

That's so sad...he does write/sing about things he knows...

A bit of manscaping is nice :laugh3: And his hair is longer too. I don't like it as much when he goes down to like a No. 2 on the clippers. When it's longer, he can do his faux-hawk. :bomb:

I won a radio competition for a meet and greet. There is a pic in the link in my sig. I'm standing next to Will and my husband is right next to Chris. It was amazing to speak with them for a few seconds.

Milesahead, I'm so jealous. Where in Orange County are you? I'm in Rancho Santa Margarita. I keep checking airfare but it's still really expensive, and with a husband and kids at home, unfortunately other things have to take priority sometimes. :cry:

So this afternoon, a friend texted me to ask if my husband and I wanted tix to the Def Leppard concert tonight. We had no other plans, and the venue is only 8 miles from our house so we went. First of all, I much prefer onstage musicians wear clothes, an unbuttoned sleeveless vest doesn't count - and one of the guitarists didn't wear a shirt at all. I'm really not a prude, but for Godl's sake, wear some clothes. Secondly, it's my favorite concert venue and the last time I was there was July 19, one of the best night's of my life :) The concert was fine, they did a good job, but I'm just not a big fan of 80s metal/hair bands (unless Jon Bon Jovi is there). I just couldn't stop reliving the magic of Coldplay that night last month...sigh...

Me, too...that's why I love the pic in my sig so much. I wish I could make it bigger. I took the picture and I think it's my favorite of Will. He's gotten so much more expressive with his drumming.

Oh I know it wasn't his fault...but I flew from California to Florida for the concert, and Kelly came from Chicago, and I know there are others who flew to the concert in Tampa. I was at the first "official" US show in July 2008, and I wanted to be at the last. And after meeting Chris and Will, I especially want to see them again! All meeting them did, is make me want more, lol. Kelly and I can have a virtual pity/birthday party while you are all in Wembley.

Kellyyyyyy...I'm so there with you. I want to go to Wembley so bad, but I just don't think it's going to happen. And I blame it all on Chris. It wouldn't be this horrible if he hadn't gotten sick in the first place and we'd been able to see them in Tampa. I would have been just fine with that, you know? I was prepared for that being the last show I'd see for awhile, but since it didn't happen, it's still feels open-ended, like there hasn't been closure. lol You and I need to be part of that sea of yellow, sing with people who know every word of every song and not just the Viva chorus. Argh.....this is torture. And Sept 18 is my birthday.

I had emailed Anchorman when the Tampa concert was "postponed." There were several of us who had to go to Tampa anyway, due to non-changeable plane tickets and prepaid hotel rooms. We met up and took pictures around Tampa and St. Petersburg of the "Coldplay-shaped fans on tour." Some were posted on this site and I emailed them to Anchorman, too, saying that we were filling in for the Coldplay-shaped puppets in Tampa since the puppets couldn't be there. He sent me a response thanking me for the pictures and was glad that we still had a good time, even though the concert was cancelled. It's in my "saved forever" file. :)

Hi SD, Welcome to the board. I live in Orange County and flew to Tampa for the concert. I found out about the postponed concert when I landed in Atlanta. I'm really hoping there Is an announcement soon. I'm holding on to my pit ticket until I hear one way or the other.

Will butt, legs and tummy, all in one day, I haven't posted because I just came to, after passing out at all the Will-skin...:bomb::wacky::heart: I think it's funny that Jonny is reading Nylon - a chick magazine and Will's reading GQ.

And not just for showing off their house (because it's been all over the internet anyway) but for using their names in an advertisement, without monetary compensation.

Maybe Chris's stylist is saving it for Locks of Love (or else it's in a baggie marked Tracey). ha ha I'm keeping my tickets, and just waiting. And waiting. And waiting. I only sent Anchorman 2 emails - one asking for a C/J picture, and one asking for Jonny without his cap. Those people yesterday were crazy, I skimmed through all the pages when I got home. Thanks for the texted pics. I couldn't open a couple of them, the cell phone reception at the beach is really bad, but I got the one of Will, so that's the most important. I was able to dl the others once I got back to the car. It was a gorgeous day, but the waves were huge due to an offshore hurricane down near Mexico. We're in the midst of a heatwave - forecast is 104 here today. It's also fire season with several large wildfires burning in the Los Angeles area. One is in the vicinity of my dad's. They're not in any danger, but the smoke is really bad and road usage is limited. 1200 people were evacuated last night :( Mike Tyson is just ew. And the tatoo'd face doesn't help him out at all. The guy took a few too many blows to the head.

Well, Mr Curly Blond Hair now has a haircut that is barely a step above a buzz cut - he's almost taking after Will now. :P And Tracey, I bet you love it. ha ha. Years and years ago, like in the early 80s, I saw the Rolling Stones in concert. Huge stadium show, I think it was at the LA Coliseum, which holds 90,000 for football games. And Prince was their opening band. People threw things at Prince, cups, food, etc, and he got pissed and left the stage and didn't come back. It was kind of sad, and I felt bac for Prince, but he didn't let that get him down and he didn't give up. I'm so not a Prince fan, but to come back from being humilated like that was impressive. Ugh Mike Tyson is on Conan right now.

Hey Marcus, nice shout out from Anchorman today. That thread was crazy today. So I watched a show I'd recorded tonight. I never watch MTV Hits but for some reason it was on the tv when my recorded show ended. And what should be on but Latest and Greatest with coldplay. First was Viva and then was Yellow. I don't even think I've ever seen Yellow on tv. I watch everything on my computer. Anyway, it gave me a small glimmer of hope. Lol
