  1. Yeah, well, maybe I"m just being delusional in hoping they'll be back sometime. It was just a huge deal for me to get to Tampa in the first place - with a husband and 4 kids, that is just not something I *do*, to fly across the country to see a band, and meet up with people I met online, yk? The sting of disappointment is still pretty strong. But to keep us all hanging, it would be a good thing to know one way or the other for closure. As far as scheduling the amphitheater, I don't know. I did see announcements that the Florida State Fair is in February, so it seems the fairgrounds are used year round.
  2. Aerosmith/ZZ Top were officially cancelled yesterday, and I already have the credit from livenation back to my credit card, all fees included. If Coldplay cancel, rather than postpone, the show then later reschedule, I would think a lot of people who had good seats would be upset, at the chance they would not get those seats again. As much as I would love to hear something asap, it's only been a week. How long did it take to announce the rescheduling of that postponed New York show earlier this year?
  3. YES! Text me, call me (I'll PM my home number to you - Verizon might not like international calls on my cell, or you really need an iPod Touch - which I swear is the greatest invention EVER) or email me (I'll pm you my personal email address). Twitter is easy, but only 140 characters. You should totally do a blog or something about Tracy & Husband's Coldplay London Adventure. I'm so envious of you. The more I think about it, the more I miss London - we had such a great time living there, I would go back in a heartbeat.
  4. Hey Thanks for the SNL update - off to set the dvr.
  5. San Francisco is a cool place to live. I miss the Bay Area, but I love living in Orange County, too. We saw many many concerts at Shoreline, I remember when it was built and that whole area of Mountain View was all brand new. We went to the beach in San Clemente today and it's just beautiful. Of course, right now, I'd much rather be in Denmark...Or anywhere the boys are. I don't think I'll get over it until the announcement is made.
  6. Haha mom used to work for a record store whose manager had connections. My first concert was Andy Gibb (RIP) when I was 13, 5th row. But I was raises on (now) classic rock. Now I'm more alternative but it's those classic rock roots that take me back. My husband and I saw Sir Elton 2 years ago in Vegas. Amazing even though he was cracking Celine Dion jokes and moving a bit slowly.
  7. Well, my 19 year old daughter is way alternative, so I can deal with that, too...and there is still plenty of time to work on my 10 year old. She's the baby. Social acceptance and mainstream is huge in 5th grade, so I'm cutting her some slack for now. I'm really 3 for 4. (And I'm letting my 16 year old's Broadway show tunes slide because that is his passion).
  8. Hey are you another of us "advanced" agers? Uh, David predates me ::ducking::
  9. Yeah, well, I've been doing plenty of shoving - it doesn't work, believe me, I tried. But now that my sons are 16 and 13, they're musically acceptable. :laugh3:
  10. No, thank God she doesn't like Jonas Brothers, but she does LOVE LOVE LOVE Taylor Swift. ugh If I hear You Belong to Me one more time, my actions are not my own. Guess this is payback for my Shaun Cassidy/Andy Gibb/Donny Osmond obsessions when I was 10. That was :::coughcough::: years ago.
  11. So you're following me ;) One can only hope - Miley is Sept 23. So I told my neighbor about the "postponed" concert, and she said I should write to the band and tell them I'm just a poor housewife, and demand they fly me to London. ha ha ha Anchorman hasn't emailed back about the Coldplay-shaped fans on tour - oh well...
  12. Hey, pole dancing is the newest exercise craze, doncha know? :rolleyes3: Thank goodness we missed that one.
  13. Yeah, well, just you wait until you have a 10 year old daughter, and have Miley Cyrus, High School Musical and iCarly equivalents. The things we do for our kids...
  14. I don't know. I keep checking the http://www.star987.com website, and they have the pictures but no video. Other Stripped performances are online, so I wonder what the delay is.
  15. Well, Aerosmith was kind of my compromise for my husband for my Coldplay obsession...so it's ok. Now will Miley Cyrus cancel, too? I'm taking my 10 year old daughter next month - I should only get so lucky, ha ha.
  16. Yeah, just stay away from me this week. But oooh, Depeche Mode. fun. I was thinking about buying tix to Goo Goo Dolls, but they're doing some funky concert where they perform live while professional figure skaters skate to their music. I'd still rather see Coldplay. I'm slowly getting over the disappointment, but I wish we had something to look forward to. Well, that is, for those of us who aren't going to Wembley (ahem, Angie and Tracey).
  17. Yeah, and an update on the postponed show...I'm dying here. But I won't be buying a non-changeable plane ticket or booking a prepaid hotel room in Tampa this time  This is my week for jinxed/cancelled concerts - we have tickets to Aerosmith in LA next week, and just found out today that the rest of the Aerosmith tour is cancelled, due to Steven Tyler falling off the stage last week.
  18. I'm gonna need earplugs for all the screaming little girls :dozey:
  19. Oh man, I hadn't heard...livenation didn't send me an email - they were sure on the ball with Coldplay's announcement.
  20. We have tickets to Aerosmith on Aug 23. And uh, AC/DC on Sept. 8. This was my Coldplay compromise with my husband - but he may be taking one of the boys to Aerosmith. We are all going to AC/DC - everyone should see Angus Young once in a lifetime, right? And um, I'm taking my 10yo daughter to see Miley Cyrus on Sept. 23. I would trade all of those for Will, Jonny, Chris and Guy, easily. lol
  21. Ha ha, I remember going to concerts way back when, like Journey, Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, where my ears would ring for days. Back then it was all about the loudness, now speakers have been refined so you can actually hear the music, and it's comfortably loud instead of earsplitting loud.
  22. Oh, we're not blaming livenation for cancelling the show, but for the email they sent out asking for us to review the show, when they're also the ones who sent out the email telling it was postponed in the first place! If they can target Coldplay ticketbuyers for updates and announcements, then they can adjust their program to not ask how it was.
  23. Guess his new condo isn't ready for him to move in yet.
  24. I started doing the survey - it said you had a chance to win livenation season pass - but one of the first opitons was "my show was cancelled or postponed." When I clicked that, it apologized and exited the surver - not even a chance to enter the drawing. grrrr, still totally bummed out.
