  1. Whenever I hear SOS, I remember talking with Chris about it at the Hollywood Bowl. They played it for the first time on Wednesday, and when I met him on Friday, we thanked him for playing it. He said he wasn't sure if they were going to keep it and that it was a "little shaky" and I told him it was beautiful. LOL They've gotten over the shakiness, that's for sure.
  2. This seems to have gone by super fast tonight.
  3. I'm dying here, listening to him sing alone...Wish Will would have more solos.
  4. Hey neighbor. :) I live in RSM but my dh works at the Spectrum in one of the towers.
  5. Oh good god, his voice is so so good and hitting those notes? I'm dying here...the break did him good.
  6. Oh listening to this is just bringing back so many amazing memories. I absolutely loved this tour, and was so so fortunate to have seen so many shows, and am sad it's all over for me :( But listening to this feed - oh man. It's perfection...
  7. They performed 5-6 songs for the audience but only 2 aired on the Ellen show last October. They must be showing one of the other songs that didn't originally air.
  8. I just applied to be a seat filler for the show. I will find out next week if I'm selected :)
  9. Yep. It was taped last October. I was there at the taping, standing right in front of Guy, but I was next to the steadycam guy so I'm not in any of his shots . Although if you know where to look, you can see me in some of the overhead shots. So freaking awesome. They actually played 5 songs for the audience, even they only showed 2 (I think) on the show.
  10. WTF? Guy shaves his chest, Chris shaves his stomach and Jonny shaves his EYEBROWS? LOL
  11. I don't know why so many people are upset - Coldplay (through the Oracle) flat out said they were not playing the Olympic Closing Ceremonies, only the Para-lympics.
  12. No. Unlike the European stadium gigs, the US shows all have assigned seats and chairs on the floor. The band like to fill the first few rows with big fans who provide lots of energy, rather than fans who can pay the big bucks for the front. At GA shows, the fans in front are the ones who lined up early to rush to be in the front of the stage. From Roadie 42s blog: http://www.coldplay.com/newsdetail.php?id=987&page=0 My god! That’s it! After a bit of email back and forth, it turns out that they were in the front row after being “upgraded” from seats way up the back. The band have done this for ages now. It came about after struggling with shows where the seats closest to the stage were often full of just “the highest bidders” and not necessarily the most enthusiastic fans. In European standing shows, the front rows are the kids who’ve been outside the venue since daybreak and who’ve sprinted in to get the pole position. Usually by the time the opening acts have finished they’re at fever pitch with excitement. The sight of Chris’s piano being wheeled into position can bring about a screaming cheer - explosive enough to make you think the show has already started. In contrast, folks who’d paid astronomical sums for the tickets could often just sit with an arms folded sense of entitlement, emoting “come on then, entertain me, have you any idea how much I paid for this?”. So the band don’t sell the tickets to the front few rows any more. Instead, various crew members are sent out to scan the highest, furthest seats to find folks who look genuinely excited and giddy to be seeing the band. They’re then given tickets to the front row (which quite often looks a very, very long way away from the “nosebleed” seats). Often, folks think it’s a scam and refuse to believe it. Often they go berserk and jump up and down screaming - until they have to calm down before they fall down. Eventually, though, they end up down the front and the natural order of things is restored. For them, it’s a Willy Wonka golden ticket. For the band, it’s guaranteed energy from the folks closest to them. It genuinely does make the shows better. We’ve all said it many times. How good a show is, is largely to do with how good the audience are. It’s what fuels the whole thing.

    That's me!
  14. I remember you painting that banner in your hotel room when we met in Tampa! Of it had to be sacrificed, at least it was for 2nd row seats!
  15. Nice pics, Erick...I like your camera :laugh3:
  16. We will have a big party reunion! How about when they come back to Las Vegas????
  17. I just heard from Erick (GotCheese - he got great seats for a volunteer. Volunteers get the tickets they take from the people who get upgraded, so they're usually nosebleeds. He got sec 106 and is thrilled. Yay for him!
  18. Hello Friend! Don't you wish we were at another show??? So we need to live vicariously through these posts and Erick...
  19. They're all girls. I know they upgrade guys sometimes, but seems the overwhelming majority are fangirls.
  20. That's right...they did the Rio festival, Japan festival and Australian festival last summer, too.
  21. I don't see it happening. They've already been touring for over a year, if you count the all the European and 3 US festivals last summer. Plus all the promo they did back in October, the December European arena tour, the one-off shows (UCLA, Madrid, Club Nokia). And then they've been pretty much constant on tour since April, and they will go through November, with only October off. Add all that together, and it's almost a year and a half of the MX era. I just don't see them adding any more shows next year. We can always hope, though...
  22. It works on my iphone, looks just like on safari on my mac. But I paid 99¢ for Tapatalk app - so much easier to see and use on my iphone than using safari. I also paid a little extra (I think $1.99) for the option to add photos directly to my posts from my phone without having to upload to a mobile site.
  23. Have fun! Seems like I know so many people going to one or more of these shows...
