  1. Thank you, my Florida friend and my UCLA buddy.
  2. Hey Imelda, yes, can enter online only once but I just posted that they're also doing a "be caller 20" contest, at noon, 3pm and 6pm. I've heard at least one commercial an hour today, listening to KROQ.
  3. :) I'm hoping at least one of us here wins! Not only do they have the online contest, there is a "call-in" contest. They announce at noon, 3pm and 6pm to be the 20th caller. And Kevin and Bean have their own contests during their morning show, so I will be listening tomorrow and every day until Friday...
  4. I feel your pain, Chelsea. They are doing a free show at "my" radio station in Los Angeles next week. Tickets can only be won, none will be sold. I'm doing my damnedest to win, but it will kill me if I can't be there.
  5. T&Cs. Kevin & Bean’s Breakfast with COLDPLAY NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. 1. HOW TO ENTER a. These rules govern the KROQ: Kevin & Beans Breakfast with Coldplay promotion (the “Promotion”) being conducted by KROQ (the “Station”) beginning at 6:00 am Pacific Time (“PT”) on October 10, 2011 and ending at 5:00 pm PT on October 14, 2011. b. To participate in the Promotion, you may enter via the following method(s): Listen to KROQ starting at 6:00 am PT on October 10, 2011 and ending at 5:00 pm PT on October 14, 2011 and call the KROQ request lines when upon hearing the cue to call. The 20th caller, as announced on-air to 1-800-520-1067 will win a Prize, a pair of passes to Kevin & Bean’s Breakfast with Coldplay at the Red Bull Sound Space at KROQ on October 18, 2011, upon confirmation of eligibility. At the time of their call, callers will be required to provide all information requested including their full name, complete address (including zip code), day and evening phone numbers and date of birth in order to be eligible to win. In the event that the selected caller is disconnected or is found to be ineligible, the next eligible caller that successfully makes it through on the call-in line and completes their call will be a winner. There is no limit to the number of times a listener may attempt to call in to win, but a listener may be a winner only once. There will be up to a total of twenty-five (25) Prize winners selected on-air during the Promotion dates. The Station is not responsible for telephone service outages, delays, busy signals, equipment malfunctions and any other technological difficulties that may prevent an individual from completing his/her telephone call. Due to delays in the KROQ online streaming of its broadcast signal, listeners to the online stream may not be able to participate in or may be disadvantaged in participating in on-air contests. 2. ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS a. The Promotion is open to all KROQ listeners who are 18 years of age or older and who legally reside in the State of California. Employees of the Station, its licensee, its corporate parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates, its advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other radio stations in the Los Angeles metropolitan area and the members of their immediate families and/or households are ineligible to participate or win. b. Listeners are eligible to win a prize valued at $50 or more or event tickets valued at $100 or more from KROQ-FM only once every thirty (30) days, and listeners are eligible to win a prize in a Promotion conducted by the Station only once every sixty (60) days if the prize is valued over $600 and only once per year if prize is valued over $1,000. Only one winner per household is permitted in any Station promotion. c. In order to participate in the promotion, participants must have a valid driver’s license, state identification card, military identification card, or valid passport; complete all entry forms and questionnaires, and sign a liability, publicity and participant release form when submitting their entry and/or prior to being selected. 3. PRIZES a. Twenty-five (25) Prizes will be awarded. Each Prize is two (2) passes to Kevin & Bean’s Breakfast with Coldplay on October 18, 2011 at the Red Bull Sound Space at KROQ. The Approximate Retail Value of each Prize is $PRICELESS. The winner will be solely responsible for all taxes and all other fees and expenses not specified herein associated with the receipt and use of the Prize. b. All prizes or prize certificates may be picked up at the office of the Station at the address below. The winner will forfeit any prize or prize certificate not claimed within forty-five (45) days of winning. In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its loss. The Station is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate. c. There is no substitution, transfer or cash equivalent for prizes, except that the Station may, at its sole discretion, substitute prizes or cash of comparable value. The prizes are expressly limited to the item(s) listed above and unless otherwise expressly specified, do not include taxes, gratuities or any other expenses. Other restrictions may apply. 4. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION a. Decisions of the Station management with respect to the Promotion are final. b. Twenty-five (25) winners will be selected on-air, as described in Section 1 of these Official Promotion Rules. c. Odds of winning a Prize depend on the order and number of calls received. d. Prize winners must listen to the Station to win, but do not be present to win. e. The winner must execute and return any required affidavit of eligibility and/or liability/publicity release within five (5) days of winning or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected at random from all remaining eligible qualifiers. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to sign and return the required affidavit of eligibility and/or liability/publicity release within the required time period, or if a prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, the potential winner forfeits the prize. 6. Maybe this will be my lucky week. I didn't win, but did get through twice this morning to KIIS-fm trying to be caller 102 for $1000. :). I usually get that "all circuits are busy" recording...
  7. YES! There is a contest to enter for tickets to be at the show. Cross your fingers for me that I am one of the winners!!!
  8. Woot! You can enter to win tickets to be there in the studio with them!!! They're calling it "Breakfast with Coldplay." Last time I won tickets from KROQ, it was "Cocktails with Coldplay" with the meet and greet. This one is a random contest. Listen to 10 song snippets, then take the multiple choice quiz. Hard songs, like Viva, Clocks, Fix You...duh... They will call you if you are chosen. I'm entering for everyone in my family! How awesome would it be to win???? Cross your fingers for me!!!
  9. Rio interview...I could listen to him talk all day :bomb [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8ZH6ycOq9M]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8ZH6ycOq9M[/ame]
  10. I don't think they will be playing any new songs from MX until after the official release date. Up in Flames was an exception because, by the time the show is broadcast on tv on New Year's Eve, the album will have been out for 2 months.
  11. Oh my gosh, Sarah! That's so great! Front row is the best :)
  12. Austin didn't have confetti or fireworks. I would think confetti at a festival would be a nightmare to clean up. And Texas was in the midst of a drought so fireworks were a huge fire danger. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. It's not a setlist on the piano. It's Chris Portuguese cheat sheet :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. In the header, it says "A great night for Coldplay at the Digitsl Music Awards."
  15. I've been listening to music all my life, my mother was a huge fan of many different bands, and there was always music playing in my house. I went to my first concert at age 12 - that was 34 years ago. Since then, I've been to hundreds of concerts, listened to many, many different musicians and different genres, indie, alternative, heavy metal, hard rock, soft rock, country, pop. I've been to arenas and sheds, huge stadiums holding 80,000 and small clubs where there were only 50 in the audience. Some bands, I've seen several times (Bruce Springsteen comes to mind - 12 times over a nearly 30 year span), others once was more than enough. But not a single band over all these years has touched me like Coldplay. With no other band, do I follow a message board (well, they didn't even exist back when I started being a big fan of some bands). With no other band, do I search youtube for videos. For no other band, have I flown to other states to see them perform, nor would I even consider it. With no other band, do I feel like following them "personally." Other than some really big names, I don't know most of the names of the individual band members. I go to many concerts a year, so I'm not *only* a fan of Coldplay's music. But I don't know what it is about Coldplay that has such a hold on me.
  16. What's the big deal about Fix You being featured on Glee? Charlie Brown was featured on some advert a couple of weeks ago. I remember Clocks, of all songs for Pete's sake, being featured in the trailer for Peter Pan a few years ago. Remember when Coldplay were on The Simpsons? Glee has used many songs from Barbra Streisand to Kiss to John Lennon to Jay-Z, any many, many others, even R.E,M. it's just a song on a tv show.
  17. Well, then, if she's going to be filming in NYC for the next 2 months, yes, the kids should be with her :) We'll have to wait and see what Chris and the boys have on their calendars between the Brazil and South Africa shows in Oct and their European arena shows in Dec. Just that November charity gig, as far as I know.
  18. Oops. I just asked the same thing. Your reply didn't show up on my iPad, only on the computer :)
  19. The article says Chris and Gwyneth were in Manhattan for her birthday - fine. But it also says that Gwyneth was "spotted taking Apple to school the next morning in Manhattan." if the kids are in school in NYC, have they relocated for awhile?
  20. It's also going to be replayed on FUSE tv a few times next week. I've set my dvr to record a few times, because it didn't record it this week :(
  21. Yes, 3 times :) It's been great. Saw them at that "small" UCLA show last month. And sweet-talked our way into the ACL show taping (Up In Flames is beautiful!), then front row for the ACL festival. I think that might hold me until they tour.
  22. Hey Kaleigh, long time, no "see." I'm glad you got to see them in Atlanta! I still remember the Tampa fiasco...oh well...now that I've seen them 3 times in the last 6 weeks, I think I'm finally over it. I was front row in the middle last week in Austin and it was so great.
