ooh, that's cool! i didn't know you were actually moving :nice:. i'll be living in central london in september, then moving up to norwich in october until the following june/july :wacky:. how long are you going to be there? indefinitely? i'm going to be there until at least mid-june 2010, but if i can, i'll be permanently transferring to the uni i'll be at there, assuming i like it and all, and i'll be there for two more years if that works out :D. two years after that, and i could apply for citizenship if i wanted! :lol:

i had no idea hugh jackman was doing it either! i'm going to miss jon stewart :sad: i saw "rachel getting married" last night, and i think anne hathaway totally deserves her nomination. she was fabulous, and the movie as a whole was great, despite some scenes running on too long. ooooh, and for this thread, the banner ad is for slumdog millionaire for me! :cheesy: :wacky:

:freak: OMGZ, this is the best idea EVER! :cheesy: i'll definitely do that when it gets to be summer and i'm in super-hyper-planning mode for moving my life over there :D. i'm going to have the dumbest questions, probably :lol:, like "what's [insert britishy food item that i haven't enountered yet]?" or "where can i buy towels and bed sheets?" thanks for that idea, i'll start one up in the summer and i'll be using it heavily in august/september when i get more specific questions when i'm actually there :D

my alarm clock is an ihome, and i have a long playlist of good songs to wake up to on random, so i have a different song every day. i'm weird, though, and i have to let the entire song play through. i can't press snooze or anything and interrupt it :lol:. actually, i never press snooze. i always set my alarm to half an hour before i wake up, and then go back to sleep until my second alarm rings, which is just my watch alarm beeping. i'm actually really good about going back to sleep for exactly 30 mins and don't really need two alarms, but last semester i messed that up once and almost missed my arabic midterm, so it scared me into using two alarms. last semester i had time to nap every day, and my alarm to wake me up was my phone, on "spies" :D at home, my second alarm is one of those projector clocks, but without my glasses on, i can't read the time on the ceiling anyway :dozey:. i didn't make that connection until after i bought the thing :lol:

OMGZ, TARGET THREAD :wideeyed: i have an inordinate amount of love for target, it's a bit unhealthy. going in there just makes me happy, for some reason. even when i only need to get one thing, i just end up spending at least 45 minutes in there just looking at awesome stuff. i actually just got back from target :heart:. i got mostly boring stuff, like laundry detergent and water, but i also got leggings (finally brown in my size!) and a string of really pretty flower-shaped christmas lights to go over my dorm bed :wacky:. i love how you can get pretty much ANYTHING at target. though today i was eyeing an ipod touch REALLY closely, but i don't have $400 to spare, nor do i need one :disappointed: @dave: i have no idea about asda and tescos and their similarity to target, since i've never been in them as of yet, but from what i can tell from internet searches, those two stores are much more food based, whereas in most targets here, the food section is arguably the smallest section in the store. correct me if i'm wrong, though, and i'll definitely be gaugeing how much i like asda and tescos next year in comparison :P

haha, i know, i'm not that great at the phone either. at least, i hate actually making the call, but i'm usually pretty fine with receiving it. i think i might be calling you a lot next year when i'm out shopping or something, though, asking you annoying questions about what certain things are or what kinds of stores i can buy towels and sheets at :lol: ANYWAY. next weeeeeek :wideeyed:

i hope its not wednesday or thursday...those are my long days and i can't get back here till later than usual :uhoh:. semy said he'd text me if he saw something, but the texting between our phones can be faulty, and he might be busy too and miss it :worried:. maybe if they twitter about it, i'll know, but GAH. i hope it's monday or tuesday, or friday, but that's a long way to wait. these are the times i wish i had an iphone, so i could just go and check the respective sites whenever :bomb:

haha, i think chris and guy were talking about landing in or leaving the stage from a hot air balloon in the live 2003 tour diary :lol: and the stage invasion idea...while seemingly cool and i would TOTALLY take advantage of the opportunity to grope the guys and dance on stage....just a terrible idea from planning and logistics point of view. its insanely dangerous, for both the fans and the guys themselves. they'd get smothered and attacked, and it would be easy for some crazy to do something to them, and then think of hundreds and thousands of people all scrambling to get on the same 40-foot length of stage...people would get beat up and knocked off and get into fights about who was closer to one of the guys. eek. i think if management ever allows this, they're morons :lol:

i noticed that too, even my igoogle kept getting an error message when i clicked on anything for a while. it's fixed now, though, it seems :P

i did post the coverletter, which i printed on official project letterhead :P. i think it's in the "show off your postcards" thread, if i'm not mistaken :D. however, i completely forgot to scan/take a picture of the letter i handwrote from all of us to debs before i sealed it in the envelope :embarassed: :freak: :dance: :bomb: :cheesy: :D ohhhhhh my god, i can't wait. just because you're far from the UK doesn't mean that it didn't get there! think of all the things that people must send from your part of the world to other faraway places every day--if the mail service was that crappy, no one would ever get anything done. of course, there's no way of knowing about this particular piece of mail, but the odds are in your favor :D

my mom sent two boxes to me today :wacky:. i hope to get them in the mail on tuesday :D zoe, if you go to a really big grocery store, they will probably have them in the international foods isle. or if you have any UK specialty stores down there, but those are more rare :P

i know a few people with it. it's something that's hard for me to relate to, but strikes me as very interesting. wow, that was vague and non-committal :lol:

i only started drinking tea this year, because coffee wasn't as readily available in my holland household, so i switched. i still don't enjoy it as much as coffee, though. i'm going to have a real issue moving to england next year, not being big on tea :lol:. even as an eventual naturalized citizen, that's something that would always make me stick out :P

i love how happy and free-form it is :nice: i'm kinda convinced that it's guy singing more often than will. most of that doesn't sound like will does from the live versions of "death will never conquer" to me :thinking:. it sounds like a "new" voice, which to me means there's a high chance it's guy. i could be entirely wrong, but for now i think it's all guy.

haha, that is weird to me too, zoe, but for me it's more about how they're actually directly connected to us through the cards...i'm a sap :lol:. but semy and i were discussing earlier how mindblowing it is that they've seen his logo hundreds of times over by now, and that they've read my coverletter (well, it isn't just mine; i collected ideas from everyone for it) and they've seen everyones' cards. that's just insane to me :freak: i really need to stop posting about this and go do my arabic homework :lol:

yeah, same, zoe. only two of my friends know, and i doubt they know how hardcore it is :lol:. but i know it'll come out to some in the next year or so to most of my friends for a number of reasons. i don't really care, but it's just that i don't feel like they really have any reason to know about coldplay, so i might as well just avoid the mocking by not telling them, even if i don't really mind being mocked in the first place. anyway.
