  1. i hope it's something cooler than tour dates, something more "new," like a DVD release, or a demo recording from these random bakery sessions. a tour would be so anticlimactic (though i'd be SO happy for south americans if it was a south american tour), because we've gotten tour dates before, and it would be the THIRD time in the US, which is just a tad unfair. i shouldn't complain, since i'd totally see them again, but i hope it's not a tour.
  2. i just want to know nowwwww :bigcry: :bomb: god, now i have two things to :bomb: over, the postcards response and this big announcement! i don't think they're one in the same, but it would be AMAZING if they were :wideeyed:
  3. aww, steve kroft :wacky: hahaha, showing us his underpants
  4. ohhh man, now i really want it to be a DVD, and i think that would make a lot of sense, given the warning tweet :wacky: (i'd still secretly love it if it was postcards-related, though :uhoh:)
  5. i have a hard time believing that BIG news is a show in dubai. that affects a very small number of people. i think it could be another US tour leg, but i'd be disappointed if it was that because we've been coldplay spoiled and south america hasn't gotten any love this time around. it also could be a south american tour leg announcement, but i don't know, i have a hunch it's not tour dates. watch me be dead wrong :P. i'm thinking some sort of new material (like a demo from the bakery), a DVD, or something postcards-related, but i'm not optimistic about the postcards thing. i'd LOVE it to be a DVD!
  6. i'd be disappointed if it was tour info, i think, since i would think it would be something about a US tour, and we've been so spoiled with them this year. south america deserves a turn. i don't think they'd hype up tour dates with a warning tweet--they announce and alter tour dates in new countries all the time, really. anything short of new material or postcards and i think i'll be a tad disappointed :P
  7. i doubt it is, either, the more i think about it. they say its NEWS to ANNOUNCE, not a video or blog to say hi to some fans with. that's not an announcement, nor is it news, nor does it apply to most visitors to the site or twitter. i can't imagine what would be this awesome to merit a warning tweet, though. i feel like new material is too far off... i think i might keep the thread title like that as a little shred of hope, though :P
  8. i'm on the fence about whether or not it's postcards-related: it sounds more epic than that, and why would they tweet about something to thousands of people that only a few hundred, most not on twitter, would care about? and why would they make it sound so HUGE? to me, a warning tweet sounds like album news or something (not that i think it's that--LP5 is too far off, i think), not a nice little blog or video thanking some fans for a nice thing they did. GAH, i want to know NOW. :bomb: i'm setting my alarm for early :D
  9. oooh man, whatever it is, this sounds epic. the last time i got up earlier by choice was for the VH radio release, and now, who gets me out of bed again? COLDPLAY . i think i'd do anything for them. then again, i'd only have to scrape myself out of bed like 20 minutes earlier to be sure i have time to get everything else done but also check the computer. the more i think about it, the more i think this isn't postcards related (or at least not postcards-specific), since like 90% of people that visit the official site and subscribe to the twitter wouldn't give a crap about something related to the project. however, it does fit in with debs telling us something big was going to happen this week... i think i miiight just update the thread title with a question mark and tomorrow's date :P
  10. HOLY MUFFINS :freak:  :bigcry: :cheesy: i'm not sure whether or not this is postcards related, because i doubt they'd hype it up this much with a warning tweet and all...but AHH. it sounds so big that i might not even care if it's not postcards related  i'm going to get up early :wacky:
  11. AGH. BIG NEWS TOMORROW AT NOON?! :freak: if it's postcards related, i think i'll pass out :P
  12. anderson cooper is a CNN reporter, not CBS  60 minutes has their own league of reporters, anyway. and wow, in the works since 2005? i bet they have lots of "old" interview footage to go off of too :D. oooh, i really can't wait for this. i love when things i love are taken seriously, and i think something being on 60 minutes is a mark of it being considered seriously.
  13. yeah, how the hell do you use paypal without credit/debit cards? i was going to suggest it, but i assumed you needed plastic to use it. on a personal note, i HATE paypal with a firey passion :P. whoever designed their interface needs to be fired and put out of the business forever. but yes, paypal would work :D
  14. yeahhh, that doesn't strike me as any sort of comment a chairman would want to make  :P
  15. oooh, i also forgot that i want/need(ish) a new wallety thing for school, one that would hold my cell phone well too. i found a vera bradley one that i really like (ohh, can you tell i'm a new england prep? :P), but i don't know what color/pattern to get. i've always secretly wanted something vera bradley, even though it's so cliche here and i try to stay clear of status-symbol trends . i don't really think vera bradley is that international, so some of you might say "what's with the frumpy cloth patterns?" but i don't know, i just think a lot of them are pretty.
  16. i don't care what he seems like, that's just an awful, attention-seeking thing to do, and that's exactly why he's doing it. it seems like coldplay has a much stronger case anyway, so i'm not all that worried about them losing--it's just the principle of the thing. and a good jury probably wouldn't care that he "ruined their night." most people's nights are probably ruined when they get served, whether they're on the red carpet or on their couch :dozey:. the advantage with this being out there is that at least the guys can mentally prepare for it so it's not a shock of being served then.
  17. i'm really excited about this :wacky:. i love 60 minutes. and then the grammys right after! what a coldplay TV night :nice: why is everyone going on about satriani again? have there been new developments in the case? i've been pretty much wholly ignoring the whole thing, since i think it's ridiculous.
  18. i really love the charity idea :nice:. the question of how to donate money without a credit/debit card, though, is an issue. people without plastic cards: do you ever order online? how do you do that, if you do? checks always, work, though. charities will pretty much accept money in any form, i think. so checks would definitely be possible.
  19. i'm trying not to buy anymore clothes these days. i own so much that it's unacceptable, and i'm never willing to get rid of anything. i just need to stop. however, i've been convincing myself that i need a decent pair of running shoes now that i (have to) go to the gym three times a week. in reality, the sneakers i own do the job, but i think i just want to have more athletic gear so i get more into the athletic mindset :uhoh: i also found a website where i can order hoodies and tshirts from my new british university, and i'm very tempted to get a hoodie shipped to me now rather than waiting till i get over there. i mean, really, i have to get ONE item of university SWAG, right? :P. but i own more hoodies than god... running shoes and hoodies aren't very en vogue, i'm afraid :disappointed:
  20. despite my personal scare earlier (i was really convinced the blog entry would have something in it), i'm glad it's not today. i hope it's friday . if it's not online by saturday, i think i'll have to explode  :bomb: :bomb: :bomb:
  21. i think it'll definitely be filmed at least partially in the bakery, but i bet this was filmed months ago, probably in december after christmas, so i doubt they'll mention postcards at all. they do these things way in advance.
  22. i only do it when i'm expecting big news, like word of this project or VLVOD-release news last spring. and i only turn them on when i know i can't get to a computer for long stretches of time. it's proved VERY useful in the past--i would have slept through most of the album leak on june 4  i really just need a freaking iphone or itouch . it would solve all of my coldplay-stalking technical issues :sneaky:
  23. well. mel beat me to it with the fancy copy-paste :dozey: :P
  24. 60 mintues is an hour long news show (duh :P). it's not a live interview--it's more like a short documentary on the subject, pulling in pictures and old video clips and narration from the interviewer mixed with taped interviews with the subject. coldplay won't take up the whole hour, and i can't remember how many segments are in one episode, but i think they'll get a half hour :D. it's pretty much a serious interview show that mostly covers serious, relevant topics. they've done musical artists before, but mostly only the legends like U2 and the stones etc. i was stunned when i saw that COLDPLAY was going to be on, since it's kind of unlike them to do something like this to my knowledge. but it's a reputable show with good journalists and good use of old interviews and pictures, so i think it's going to be epic.
