  1. rolling stone is almost ALWAYS reliable. if they say it's out on may 5, i believe them. WHOOOOO! i suppose this means american radio too! too bad i have a russian exam that day...but once i finish that (it'll only be like an hour or so), then i'll give myself the rest of the day off to listen to it!! of course, i might not be able to concentrate on russian...
  2. oh well i see it in the first one, i think. it seems to be one of those really thin, elastic band athletic headbands that i wear a lot, but i could be wrong...it just looks like his hair is pulled back at a specific point in the first one :D
  3. ok, ok, i'm going to say what i think is really going on in this pic based on THIS pic: it looks like it was taken seconds before or after that first one. it looks like chris is wearing a headband in this one, so in the one on the first page, i think he just took off the headband. believe me, i know from experience that your hair looks pretty insane after taking off a tight headband that you've been wearing all day. it looks exactly like that crazy bit of hair chris is rocking on the first post, actually. so that's what i think is happening :P
  4. ^eeee, i know he does! and if he is not THE president, i will be moving to the UK faster than i already plan to. seriously.
  5. yes, first while we were waiting for three hours, we claimed a spot right against the railings, which lined the path obama took down the steps of the capitol down to the podium. that's where the first few pics are from, and that's the first time i shook his hand and he thanked me. then once obama passed us and was safely on the podium, secret service opened the barriers and we RAN down the capitol steps and congregated right behind the podium! that's where the pictures of him speaking etc. and the one really really close one is from, which was after he was finished speaking and went around shaking hands again, which is where i met him a second time. ohmygoodnessgosh. i really need to chill out, i think :D
  6. i can't stop being excited. i can't believe i got so lucky to be that close twice at two different viewing locations. it pays to get there three hours early and to run everywhere like a maniac!! and thanks, semy  :nice: and i promise that i don't take pictures of mtself in the mirror THAT much. i hardly ever do it at all, really...i just thought last night was worthy of doing it for the third time in a month
  7. how can there be MORE to the story?!?! oh goodness, i'm excited
  8. i have to say that i'm not a fan of the whole "using an already famous work of art" idea. i was hoping for something completely original. we'll see though. but the klimt one is so perfect that i wouldn't have a problem if they used it :P
  9. *MAJOR SQUEE* :cheesy: this is GREAT news!!!! i love the fact that it'll be downloadable so i can have it and play it hundreds of times in the first day. we don't even really have to worry about stalking the radio anymore! oh goodness, this is the best, most promising news we've gotten in awhile, i think!
  10. haha, thanks mimi! there are many photos of it in the "do a tour of your house" thread, but i find it kind of crazy-looking.
  11.   i've never been so electrified in my entire life. i hate to say not even at a coldplay concert. rudy: are you sure you're talking about me, the one with the glasses? if you are, thanks! :nice:
  12. I know this is kind of a spam thread, and I know "met" is sort of the wrong verb, but I'm so ecstatic that I just have to share :D I went to a Barack Obama rally today in the capitol of PA, where I go to uni, and it was just the most amazing night I've ever had. I'm not going to go off on a political rant, but let's just say I've been a huge, overenthusiastic Barack Obama supporter since February 2007, and tonight I FINALLY got to see him speak. I shook his hand TWICE, and he looked me in the eye for over two seconds and said "thank you." I managed to splutter out a "h-hello, sir!" before he walked away and I screamed in astonishment with my friend who was with me. There were tears involved. Pictures!! YES WE CAN!! www.barackobama.com
  13. ohhh yes, "don't look back in anger" and "all around the world" would be AMAZING as well. and many, many radiohead songs, but i don't think they'll ever do them because of all the preexisting radiohead comparisons. and i'd LOVE to hear their take on a strokes song! they've said that they love them, so it could be either kick-ass or awful.
  14. ^i think we'll hear it on radio on may 6, and perhaps they'll make it downloadable that day as well, but i'm not banking on it. i think that the CD/download/7" will be physically avalible sometime in mid-late may, but that some kind person that recorded it off the radio will put it on here and we can all have it very soon :D
  15. oh, i'd KILL to hear them do "wonderwall" and "across the universe" in particular, but i could probably come up with an endless list of songs i'd LOVE to hear their take on. mainly a lot of beatles, death cab for cutie, and U2 songs. specifically the beatles "for no one," DCFC's "marching bands of manhattan," and U2's "a sort of homecoming" (which chris once cited as his favorite U2 song anyway :D)
  16. today i tie-dyed a fair trade cotton t-shirt at an earth day festival at my school, and it made me think of coldplay :D i must get a MTF tshirt very soon.
  17. this poster: which is why i thought they were evern MORE wrong, because i think they all look particularly good in it. whatever, though. funny; when i first started liking them i thought they all looked almost exactly the same minus the different hair styles, particularly will and jonny :laugh1:
  18. my friend is visiting me at uni right now, and last night she laid down on my bed and sighed, looking up at my coldplay poster, and said "man, coldplay sure are unattractive. i mean, chris martin's pretty hot, but the rest look like they could really use a joint and a shave." my roommate chimed in, saying that she agreed chris was hot, but then she looked over to me and said, "chelsea, you're turning all red..." i wasn't angry, i just thought they were very, very wrong :laugh4:
  19. i cannot bear to vote high and dry or fake plastic trees. therefore, street spirit. but god that's hard.
  20. hmm. i'm really not sure what to think. i was really hoping for original artwork, stuff that no one's ever seen before. that painting was in my european history textbook that i used for two years, so it's kind of weirding me out that it's an album cover. i was just hoping for something more...creative and original, i guess, not just taking something else someone already did years ago that's already famous. but whatver. i only really care about the music anymore!
  21. ^oooh, i LOVE "paint the silence"! their new song "better things" is incredibly amazing as well in my opinion. i can't stop listening to it!
  22. ohmygoodnessgosh, this just got me so excited i can't even decribe it. regardless of whether it's true or not (and i think it is true), i feel more pumped than ever. i say that all the time, but i think my excitement just reaches new levels with every scrap of news that we get. i have to say that this sounds legit, though. i suppose we'll know in time, but it sounds too descriptive to be made up. and usually people that lie don't go into that much detail because it's even more harmful to them once they're found out. and the english being good doesn't mean anything about its credibility, i don't think. i know that i can write much better spanish than i can speak (or could at one point in my life), and especially if this person has spent time in england, they could very well write this well. i think it would be a bit harder to remember things in another language, even if you are pretty fluent in it, especially if you're excited or whatevr. i think this is AMAZING news; i just wonder who has it and how they got it!! and that i'm kind of dying for lyrics. thank you sooo much, lunesazul2004!!
  23. ^was it really available for download on the 19th? i really thought it was on may 23rd and that it just got british radio play on the 18th/19th, but i could be entirely wrong. if you're right, i hope that they're doing it in a similar way this time!!
  24. ten is very very good, but at the same time it's not really my sort of music. the newest, self-titled album is amazing, i think, and lost dogs has some amazing songs on it. and the into the wild soundtrack....ohhh my goodness. i've been obsessively playing "hard sun" for the past 2 weeks.
  25. yeah, i honestly don't think that the general public are allowed to this whatsoever. you probably need to be on the guest list, or have a press pass at the very least, so i just don't think it's possible, guys :\
