haha, in my art class we've been watching jefferson in paris, which is a movie about, well, thomas jefferson in paris at the time of the french revolution. the thing is, gwyneth paltrow plays a pretty major character in it, and given the comfirmation of the artwork today, i just could NOT get the coldplay connection off the brain in class! :D

still the 17th here, of course, but i'm expecting a HUGE leak on the 12th, so i'm not worried!! :dance: :dance: :dance: ohhh my god, i just can't stop thinking about all this!

YESS. got a text, rolled out of bed to my computer at 7AM, saw the new site! :dance: FREE DOWNLOAD TOMORROW at 12:15?!?!?!?! oh, how i LOVE them! agh, i wish i didn't have classes so i could just talk on here ALL DAY!

it's just kind of funny for me because back in high school, i had to read a book about the french revolution for a project, and this painting was on the cover, so it's kind of weirding me out that this is going to be my new favorite ALBUM! it's very different than their other album covers, but i still like it a lot. even though X&Y will always be my favorite cover, i think.

i'm kind of really surprised that i LOVE it. originally when the rumor was out that it would be that painting, i said "oh NO, please no!" becuase it looked so un-coldplay, but i have to say that the addition of the messy "viva la vida" makes all the difference in the world, and i loove it. 4/5 stars for me. :dance:

semy, i think we're beyond the point where we're surprised every time we agree on something, but i agree with everything you just said! :laugh1: well, the only one i'm a bit squiffy on is "1.36". that's not one of my faves.

eh, i don't think there will be one for violet hill. i think one for all of VLVOD is very likely, but really i think it's just not going to happen for violet hill. of course, we don't need one because we're soooo close! :dance: but if i'm 100% wrong, all the better!

agreed on the chris/gwyneth thing wholeheartedly!! i mean, it doesn't matter as long as it works, but really it's hard for me to imagine them together to this day. i'm not really saying that they're bad live, not at all...i just think they have more work to do on that front mostly when they're compared to other bands.

haha, well i disagree with all of yours :P but that's what this thread is for :D one more for me: -"see you soon" is the best song that coldplay has ever come out with.

i also agree with swallowed in the sea, but disagree with the other two. here are some of mine: -i think both versions of "how you see the world" are very overrated, and i just can't see the hype. i find them some of coldplay's most boring songs. -chris looks better when his hair is longer (:P) -coldplay are a far better studio band than they are a live band.

^it was rumored that mexican radio would be playing tomorrow, but i really doubt that's true. i think we're all going to have to wait for british radio, but really that's only like 12 hours more. ohmygod.

ohh yes, i have a huge soft spot for acoustic songs. i think three or four out of my top 5 coldplay songs are either acoustic or piano-ballads. all the more reason for me to want this to stay kind of in that vein.

i don't mind a put-you-to-sleep album at all. i'm kind of worried that they might not be fully ready to go the harder rock route. frankly, i'm unsure if that's very coldplay. my definite first choice is "lower tones, less falsetto." chris has an incredible low voice, and the falsetto can get to be a bit much even for us coldplay diehards. what i really want is a sort of "back to basics" album after X&Y, but i don't see that happening with VLVOD. but i'd love a put me to sleep album, definitely!

argh, there are TWO different XFMs?! they aren't affiliated with each other? i hope it gets played on both around the same time...but i suppose it's not that big a deal because it sounds like it'll also be played on BBC1 and BBC6.

i had never heard of cascada before seeing this thread. so today i decide to look them up on wiki, and am made aware that they/she are the ones that did "everytime we touch," which is pretty much a highschool dance and prom staple over here. after reading that, i subsequently put my face in my hands and screamed "NOOOOOOOO!" what the HELL is chris thinking?! EURODANCE?! maybe he's doing a bit of charity work in the music biz? helping out musicians that have no idea what the hell they're doing? argh, i hope so. because really, "everytime we touch" girl?! ohhhhh no.

^yeah, i'm almost positive that's 7:15 AM for us, tracie. the way i understand it is that BBC6 will play violet hill first, probably, and then XFM either around the same time or shortly after that. though this might have changed a bit since i first got it straight in my mind, especially since we now know it's 12:15 rather than right on the dot of noon. and i'm pretty sure it's XFM that has the really juicy coldplay news for us tomorrow, not BBC.

these are exactly the sorts of reasons that i absolutely hated volleyball. unfortunately it was mandatory in my school (well, A sport was mandatory, but volleyball is the only one i can remotely play). if it wasn't required, i would have quit from day 1, which is when it became un-fun. the captains were always screaming at us like it was the day before the freaking olympics when really it was just preseason...so i know exactly how you feel. i would say don't take any crap from anyone, not the captains or older girls on the team, or even the coach (because i don't think lots of them know what they're talking about half the time) and just do what you think is best in that moment, because you're the only one that could possibly know what to do and how to do it right then. people are jerks, especially when it comes to sports, which are supposed to be for FUN anyway, so try not to let one freak spoil your good time. for me it did, but i suppose i didn't want to be there whatsoever to begin with.

argh, you luckies with a nice government that does things like that for you...how i need one of those :P yeah, i'm getting up at 6:30 or so and being ready by 7 to plug in to BBC6!

4?! it's playing at 7 our time! you don't have to get up THAT early, and i'm not as obsessive about hearing the news...as long as we know what it is, and i know we will.

news on XFM on monday (though i don't think there's an announced time); VH on BBC6 at midday GMT on tuesday, then on XFM sometime after midday, so once it's played on BBC6 i'm going straight over to XFM to hear it again while simultaneously stalking the threads here for the first link to download it!
