ah! i was thinking this earlier today! someone posted it faster than i did though...:D

ok, so today i was in gap and the song that they were playing had these lyrics: ...He calls his mom, says he’s doing fine She’s got somebody on the other line Puts Coldplay on, pours a glass of wine Curls up with a book about organized crime... and my roommate knows i love coldplay (because of all the posters in our room :rolleyes:) and looked at me and we both cracked up. it was hilarious, and the second i came back to the dorm (right now) i looked up that line in google and found it was a Fountains of Wayne song called "someone to love." but it was still hilarious. also, yesterday, i was listening to shiver on my stereo when my cell phone rang. my ringtone is also shiver, and it was EXACTLY that point in the song that the ringtone is excerpted from! so it was like all of a sudden the song was coming from two different places in my room. it was the coolest thing.

i've decided that if i ever see them on the street or in a restaurant or something, i would try my hardest to keep my cool and just simply say "thank you, coldplay!" i dont want to come off as a ridiculously annoying and cliched fangirl, so in that sort of situation i'd just keep it simple rather than gushing on and on about how much i love them. but if i was lucky enough to meet them in some pre-set up situation, like a backstage meeat-and-greet or something, i would probably pass out from excitement and nerves, and i would definitely come off as a star-struck fangirl. or i would just stay really quiet in fear that i would say something stupid and meaningless and i would TOTALLY regret it later.

this is exactly why i wanted (and still want, though i'm pacified for a while) the release date so bad: because it'll seem so much closer so i can put an exact number to the days left. i know people think i'm crazy for harping on the release date so much, but really having the number of days left makes it seem like there's an end in sight to the wait!

kanye west, kirsten dunst, zach braff, kylie minogue...there are lots, i think. and i knoe i'm forgetting some major one, but i'll think of it soon.

god, the scientist backwards makes my life...though i consider myself a HUGE nerd because i know all the words to it and it gets stuck in my head. yesterday was a very coldplay day for me: the first thing i did when i woke up at 7AM was come here to see if coldplay were ACTUALLY on jimmy kimmel live. they werent, so i was quite disappointed and trudged off to class through the ice and rain. but later on in the day i got a package from my mom which contained, among other things, the issue of Q magazine with chris on the cover!! on the page with the coldplay article, she put a post it saying "DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU READ THIS. never mind, i know you wont," and it was really cute, so that made my day 10 times better. then after dinner i checked coldplaying again (because i'm addicted) and there was a new prospekt entry!!!! it was wonderful.

i think all the excitement makes me less worried. i'm still anxious and concerned that it won't be "coldplay," or that itll be "worse" than X&Y, but all the excitement is overtaking that, methinks. i know i can learn to like almost anything that has musical worth, and coldplay definitely is worth it. even if i'm not blown away by the first listen (though i hope i am!), i know i wont hate it unless theyve gone gangsta rap on us. and i dont think that's likely :D

i think a lot of the titles sound like kindergarten songs... but i'm not letting that cloud my thoughts for an amazing album!

2008 is going to ROCK for music (quite literally). my mom sent me the Q magazine with chris (and bono and oasis on the cover) today, and it reminded me of all the amazing stuff coming out this year in addition to coldplay: U2, oasis, the verve, the killers, franz ferdinand, keane...so many more. i think 2008 is going to remind me of 2005 (because that was a great music year for my tastes as well). 2007 was pretty crappy until october 10!

wow, that's true!! never thought about it like that. can you count strawberry as a color in the new title "strawberry swing"? eh, i suppose not. but it puts a big pink color in my mind when i think of it, so to me it kind of half counts.

oh, i'm going to DIE when they announce it. i stifiled my scream of joy today because it wasnt exactly what i have been waiting for (though really damn close :) ), but once they give us the date, i really hope theres no one in the dorm because i'm going to be unable to supress my glee and everyones going to think i'm crazy. but it'll be worth it. i think may/june is likely, as i said. but i TOTALLY forgot about singles!! speed of sound came out in april, right, and X&Y itself in june? i hope theyre on the same sort of timeframe this time around! because the single will wet the appetite, and it wont be too long of a wait! ohh, about 2 months until new notes from coldplay?! i LOVE that thought! i really have to shut up now...:D and don't worry about the carpets, ian...i'll clean it up after i'm done :P

i still dont know, though...didnt prospekt say that he wasnt a musician?? to me that leaves phil. and february IS shorter than other months!! WHEEEEEEEE! (but i still think that regardless of how many days it is, it's still going to be may/june. which i can TOTALLY wait for, i just wanted to KNOW when we'd be getting it. i still want to know exactly, but for now this will do.) tee hee, i'm so giddy.

tracie! how did you miss that?! naw, just kidding. i nearly did. i came back from dinner and was like "might as well check coldplaying" and then i saw the NEW STARS thread was bold and there was one after that saying "NEW PROSPEKT ENTRY" and i ZOOMED to the official site and had to stifle my scream for my sleeping roommate.

so that makes me think prospekt is eno again! gah, just when i convinced myself it was phil...

^oh, rachael, when we get the precise date, you'll be able to hear my squee of joy all the way down under (and now that i'm in pennsylvania, i'm farther away from you than i usually am in connecticut, so that's a BIG squee!). i'm SO HAPPY...

HAHA, the new prospekt entry TOTALLY makes up for this. at least to me. it couldnt have come at a better time!! so we still got information! this day has been redeemed.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! this is the EXACT sort of thing i was hoping them to write to us (well, short of a release date, but this makes it much more official, like they're PROMISING to get it to us in the expected timeframe). i was always kinda worried that we just would keep on not hearing from them, or not hearing anything definitive, for months and months and it would get to be may/june and we still would have nothing. but now it's like they told us a TIMEFRAME, pretty much, and i'm SO thrilled. it's like they addressed our specific concerns in this letter, namely concerning the release (because they havent said really anything on that subject in ages) and the album title (HAH, debs doesnt lie!). i just love how they really seem to be paying attention to US. i've always loved that about them. and i feel more than ever that they read what goes on here. well, maybe not THEM themselves (chris, jonny, will, guy), but i think they have people that read these threads on coldplaying and kind of let them know what we're all saying. i love that thought. i think they'll be done by the end of february and the thing will be in its physical production phase in mid-march to april, meaning a may/june release. OH I'M SO HAPPY I COULD EXPLODE (but the good kind, tracie, if youre reading this...:D) :dance: :dance: :dance:

bahh. i figured that this would happen, but it's still a let down. :( what a yucky day its been already (this and other things). and it's only 9:40 AM here!

ok, well i'm going to bed, but i'm going to check here the FIRST thing in the morning, i suppose... gah, i wish i didnt share a bedroom! ah, well. thanks for all the updates so far...PLEASE post anything coldplay-related so we can read it tomorrow!

no, that's fine, i personally dont need a play-by-play; i just hope we get word before 12:30ish (fat chance) because that's when i'm planning to go to bed. i figure if its really them and its really important, theyll put it at the end, meaning i've got to wait until tomorrow. blargh. well, i'll get up 10 mins early and check here before i go to breakfast. but i'm not too hopeful--all this was too good to be true.

eh, i dont think they stream. it's ok; i can watch it tomorrow, because they do post full episodes. i'd just like to know tonight if there's any real reason to watch it tomorrow, if at all possible. so i can sleep easy.

^yes yes, please tell those of us that do not have the fortune of watching it right now what's going on! i'm wavering between thinking it's definitely a clip and maybe possibly a new performance. but i'm more in the pessimistic mindset at this moment.

i wonder that if we decide to go to bed or i opt not to watch, if i'l be ABLE to sleep knowing that something concerning LP4 could be going on! AND i have early class tomorrow morning, so i dont think i'll have a spare moment to check online before i run off; my mornings are generally rushed and predominantly cranky. and i'm going to be fidgeting all class!! well, i will be either way: if we do get the Information/a performance or if i don't check. GAH!
