  1. this is a combo of :inquisitive: and :p one of my eyes always gets smaller than the other...i like :inquisitive: because it looks like me.
  2. YAY for tracie!! thats great. sometimes i wish i could give the drunkards in my dorm 2 months notice...but your situation is obviously worse! i'm glad it sounds like its being resolved.
  3. noooo, not motion picture soundtrack!! that's my fave :cry2: :mean: i voted for kid a. like i say, its nearly impossible for me to do this, but i think kid a is my least favorite.
  4. i know, i know...but somehow if i'm pessimistic, it seems to come faster, or at least its nicer when it does come. i'm much more positive now that we got the latest prospekt entry :D yep, i'm at uni now, but i guess i'm still kinda young for it...everyone's turning 19 and 20 and i just turned 18!
  5. yeah, i'm really of the opinion that prospekt is phil. he's from devon as well, isnt he? and in the last entry, which was written in devon, he mentioned being at home. i dont think just because that's chris's home, it means its the entire band's home as well. i got that in a google image seach as well, but i couldnt tell definitively if it was eno's! if it is his, then i think we have our answer: prospekt is at least not eno. does that mean it's phil? or does anyone have any other ideas? i have to say that i agree. even though i'm not judging the songs based on their titles before i hear them, songs about strawberries and glasses of water dont strike me as brilliant lyric-wise, even if they are great musically. i must say that i'm hoping for really brillo lyrics on this album, because i was kind of disappointed by most of the lyrics on X&Y.
  6. yeah, i think i'm kind of paranoid about not annoying them. which is why i'd try to contain myself as best as i could. for one, i dont want to bother them, and for two, i dont want to make them cranky or upset enough that they might ask me to go away or something, because even though i would understand why they got cranky with me, it would still hurt for someone i love so much to push me away.
  7. this is the only thing i can find with a scrap of eno's handwriting on it: and its a signature, so it could be completely different than what his handwriting is like. it doenst really look similar anyway.
  8. radiohead the strokes coldplay travis oasis
  9. i must say that i'm fairily picky with the music that i like and that i listen to, but that's not to say that i don't give things a chance. i just find that in trying things out, only a few albums/bands/songs truly grab me enough to be interested. i also hate that most people can't stand when the music isn't upbeat or about something happy. i don't get this. people complain that i only listen to "depressing music" like radiohead or death cab for cutie or coldplay (which i don't count as depressing save for like 5 songs), but to me, songs about sadness or whatever are usually the most beautiful. i don't really understand how you all are using the term "simple" here, though. do you mean simple in terms of musical structure (coldplay) or simple in terms of only simple (stupid) people could like it (most of what's played on the radio these days)? because i dont think music has to be complicated or revolutionary (like radiohead) for it to be incredible. i just think it has to move you personally in some way, or connect you to it. if you truly like it, it doesnt matter who the artist or band is, as long as youre liking it because you connect to it and not because everyone else likes it. i rarely think this is the case with most teenagers and chart music.
  10. 1. coldplay 2. the beatles 3. radiohead 4. U2 5. the strokes (and albert hammond jr's solo album) 6. death cab for cutie 7. snow patrol 8. the killers 9. oasis 10. the fray and even though i love the beatles to death, i dont listen to them as much as i used to. their music is still wonderful and revolutionary, and i still love them, but i'm so into other things now that i dont listen to them as much as i should. so technically radiohead takes the #2 spot. and i'm getting into travis now as well, so that would be #11.
  11. if i saw them on the street or something, i'd make sure they didnt see me taking the pictures unless there was a bunch of other people doing the same thing. i really really dont want to annoy them, as much as i want a picture of them (especially WITH them, but i'd be way too shy to ask unless they were obliging to others).
  12. i need to download some more so i have some variety, but its $2.99 for only a fraction of a song (or is it $1.99?) when the real, full, better quality version is $0.99 on the internet. somehow i can't reconcile having more than like three or four on my phone at that price.
  13. i've seen: coldplay (X2) U2 green day death cab for cutie paul mccartney bob dylan richard ashcroft jimmy eat world ted leo and the pharmacists the strokes south maroon 5 the rolling stones pearl jam institute weezer though some of those opened for the others... and this year/next i'm going to see coldplay again and radiohead, no question. and others, but those are non-negotionable.
  14. ohhhh no, if i were you i'd get it ASAP! if you like the bends, youll like pablo honey. i feel that people give it a bad rap because its more "mainstream" than the others, but i think its genius within its mainstreamness. PH was the last album of theirs i listened to yet one of the first i owned, and i nearly killed myself for waiting that long to listen to it. of course, this is just my opinion, but its GREAT; just as good as the others, but in a different way.
  15. umm, well i kind of have a VERY hard time picking a favorite album; it's nearly impossible. but right now i would have to say kid a because i've been obsessed with it this past week. but overall...maybe the bends? and favorite songs: PABLO HONEY: i can't, stop whispering, lurgee THE BENDS: sulk, high and dry, black star OK COMPUTER: let down, airbag, no surprises KID A: motion picture soundtrack, idioteque, optimistic HTT: there there IN RAINBOWS: jigsaw, videotape, bodysnatchers amnesiac i havent listened to enough to really judge. same with HTT if not for there there. which is incredible. so there you go :P
  16. *phew* i wasnt attacked. yet. the bends got me into them as well, and high and dry sealed the deal. but i originally tried ok computer before the bends and was kind of turned off except for let down and airbag, but after using the bends, pablo honey, and ultimately in rainbows, i was able to ease into their (amazingly genius) experimentation.
  17. me too!! secret: as an entire album, ok computer just doesnt do much for me. most of the individual songs are incredible, but as an album...kid a, the bends, in rainbows, and pablo honey beat it out in my eyes. *please dont hit me*
  18. ^i heard it in finish line, the athletic shoe store!! and jigsaw was playing in both old navy and gap :D
  19. ohhhh god, MPS is probably my fave on the whole album, even more than idioteque. it makes me cry, and very few songs in this world make me cry. its more the music itself that makes me cry more than the words, actually, which makes it even more impressive in my mind. are we going to have a bends and pablo honey survivor as well? i know most people dont like those albums nearly as much as i do, but i was just wondering.
  20. awww, well i really hope youre able to go somehow! i'm SO not missing them. its just a matter of WHEN theyre going to be around so i can figure where i can see them...either NYC or philly. i just hope they announce it soon so i can plan, both my schedule and my funds :P
  21. i heard that they were going to come here in may, do europe in june and july, and return here for a little bit in september/october, but i cant remember WHERE i read that, so it could be all wrong. i was in the mall today, and THREE different stores were playing songs from in rainbows. i think that's pretty interesting, because even if we did hear radiohead on the radio with past albums, rarely would you hear them in strore soundtracks. i guess that just goes to prove how accessible and how amazing in rainbows is!!
  22. ahh, i think theyre amazing all around. love them to death. if you get a chance, watch this self-made tour diary of their 2001 tour for is this it. its 38 mins long, but i think it's hilarious! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWNmf0qRPUs
  23. aww, i LOVE imported magazines! yeah, theyre expensive, but almost always worth it! i hope to buy mojo before it goes off the stand. and thanks for the video!! gahh, i hope they announce the american dates soon! if theyre going to be here in may, then i need to start planning!
  24. treefingers, i guess, though i do really like it. i kinda missed out on the OK computer poll, so i'm making up for my lack of participation by doing this one! i'm also currently obsessed with this album, so its perfect timing for me :D i'm pulling for idioteque and motion picture soundtrack to win, personally...
  25. so cute, pallavi!! i've never seen those apple ones before. and i love how moses is playing with the string to chris's jacket :D
