^Yes, 7:30 AM GMT is 2:30 AM EST :wink: Even though I really don't think that there's going to be much revealed besides maybe a tiny nugget of insight on something we haven't heard about yet, I'm still going to stay up and listen because I don't have much better to do :P. It's fun to hear the guys shoot the breeze on radio; there are usually at least some funny lines. But as much as I like to amp myself up, I really don't think there will be release dates or anything. At most I think they could say the album title, but even that's a lot to hope for in my mind. Yes, I pretty much guarantee someone will record it (I really should learn how to do that), but even if they don't, you can listen to the BBC Radio iPlayer from anywhere in the world after the show airs, and it'll be up for two weeks.

:lol: I'll say "excited" rather than impatient. I actually feel pretty patient for this album compared to other releases from other bands this year, but hey, if they're willing to dispense info about it at any time, then I'm going to eat it up :P

*continues to spam thread* So this is how we found out about things having to do with VLV: That was probably way more detailed than anyone cared to know, but I keep pretty extensive records of things that go on in my life, and in 2008, that included Coldplay-related things :P. The thing with that release was that most of the tracks trickled out in one way or another before the actual release...I wonder if they'll do that again? But we got a title and release date three months before the official release, and I think that's a pretty typical timeframe, so maybe that's what we can hope for this time around? :shrug:

If they do actually announce something concrete and it has to do with release dates and if they say March of this year I may just pass out. I don't know if I could handle new records from my two favorite bands in the same month. I'm officially spamming this thread now :P. At least it's my own so I don't feel that bad.

I agree that this smacks of something more than just a drop-in-and-chat without anything concrete on the agenda. I don't want to get my hopes up about solid release dates or anything, though. I think they could reveal the name or something if they're really going to be dispensing real info :D. Unless this thing is coming out in the spring, meaning like before April (and I'm in the camp of people that thinks it's June at the earliest), I really don't think they'll have a concrete release date in mind to tell us. But maybe a better timeframe! It's funny how rusty my memory is on all the VLV release stuff :P. I distinctly remember that there was a week in March 08, starting on the 17th, where we got a bit of info every single day for a week, partially by accident and partially by announcement. Because I'm still on holidays and have nothing better to do, I'm going to dig around about how and when we found out about everything because I'm curious to see if they could pull similar timeframe and strategies this time :D

Even though it sounds promising, after the initial excitement wore off, I was like "oh wait, I know how these guys are" :P I think there might be a tiny nugget of hope/news or something embedded in there, but we also know how often they change their minds :dozey:. Chris even admitted it on Fearne Cotton last month :P. I guess it's just interesting that they're going back on radio so soon for a chat for seemingly no concrete reason. My optimistic side thinks they must have decided/agreed to go on for a reason, even if it's just to say "yeah, it'll be out this summer" vaguely...:thinking:

Shame :P. I guess I'm doing this "staying up til 5AM" thing for Coldplay again tomorrow night :dozey:. Thank God I'm still on my holidays! I actually prefer staying up til 5AM because of the US timezone than waking up at 7AM in my English timezone when I'm there :P

EDIT: I think he said "talk" us through the album vs. "walk" us through it, but still :dance: And also I originally wrote 4th album because that's the album the Strokes are coming out with and I'm getting my musical loves mixed up with all the excitement. Fixed :P I really need to find some way to go to bed right now.

One of my Strokes friends that was listening with me said she thinks she heard him said it'll be Thursday? I can't find anything on the Radio 1 schedule online that mentions them, though. I tweeted Zane to ask. Something tells me that a "walk through the fifth album" is a bit of a generous explanation of what it'll be, but if they're going on radio again so soon, I feel like there will be some little tidbit in there at least. I swear to God, I may have hurt myself suppressing so much squeeing at 3AM as not to wake my family. I listen to a show to find out new Strokes news and I also hear something really promising sounding about Coldplay. AGH :bigcry: :freak: :dance:

Ahh ok, I guess it really looked like the photos were taken from the balcony where I was! That makes me feel better because I would have felt like a bit of an idiot if Phil walked right in front of my fat face to a Coldplay posse :P

OK, I don't have any written source for this, but I've been staying up til crazy hours of the morning listening to Zane Lowe on Radio 1 because he just broke some amazing Strokes news and I'm just as big a fan of them as I am of Coldplay...and I was just about to shut him off and go to bed when he said that this week (though I didn't catch when), Chris and Will will be on Radio 1 to "talk us through the fifth album." And then he played "Don't Panic" in celebration. I've had way too much excitement for 4AM one night, but I didn't see any other threads about this and was wondering if anyone knows when this is/if we can work together to find out? Because it sounds like it could be good :freak:.

Carrie, can I ask what row and seats you were sitting in? Because I had the same exact view, to the point where I'm surprised the back of my head isn't in those two shots you just posted, and your photos look like they're from the balcony where I was and not the circle...and if I was sat right where you were and failed to notice the friends and family crew and Phil's visit, I'm going to laugh really loud :lol:.
