  1. I really don't know, I have to find and contact Daniel through the board, and I know he's a new member and stuff so that could take awhile... I'll share my Chris one tomorrow night GMT, but it's blurry, I look like a frog, and Chris's eyes are open SO WIDE it's kind of scary :P.
  2. No, I didn't even ask. I might get beat up for that, but honestly, it's intimidating talking to your heroes, let alone ask them band questions, and I felt bad enough tearing them away from the set or getting home faster, so I wasn't going to badger them with questions that they must hear every damn day anyway. Every other word out of my mouth was "thank you," whether it was for today or just for talking to us or for all of their work and music thus far, and I felt that thanking them and just kind of shooting the breeze about the weather or the boat (or my fucking bladder) was politer and more fitting than trying to pump them for info. I'm really sorry, guys, seriously . I just went with the flow and the flow was "don't keep them, thank them, apologize for being annoying and staring at them all night and hanging around like leeches."
  3. Also, I edited a bit of my wording in my story...I'm sorry if some of the ways I said things sounded odd, like I made myself sound cool for finding where the shoot was even though any moron could have followed the river and found it too! :P I just meant that it wasn't a big secret where they were shooting and that it was easy to find if you knew what you were looking for and what direction to head in. And I'm really tired and my phrasing and tone and judgement are off :P Also, as a pseudonym for the band, all the crew passes etc. read "SNOWY OWL" so people walking by didn't freak out at the name COLDPLAY splayed everywhere. Imagine that kind of fame: you can't use your own names, but you also can't use your BAND name for security reasons.
  4. Miller was working very hard at the shoot, for the record. He was very involved. Phil was in it and Miller was doing tech and camera things. I think that's a good alibi, for me, anyway. Didn't meet him or talk to him though.
  5. OK, this is really, really sloppy. I hope to have a more coherent version blogged on my personal blogs tomorrow or so if anyone wants to check that at a later point. And I'll post my pictures once they're sent to me! :D WARNING: VERY, VERY LONG.
  6. I'm typing up a barebones, ineloquent version now, so I might post it in a bit if you can wait around :D
  7. It sounds like there's drama going down here. I'll post my full account tomorrow when it's all written. But I would like to say that even if I didn't go to the film set afterwards and watch the entire video being shot and meet the whole band (and talked at Simon Pegg) and Phil, I would STILL say that this was entirely worth it for me just to be a part of something I care about, and I don't regret a single thing. To each their own, but I feel like you've got to be at least somewhat excited to be part of a video like this. So many people all over the world would have given their left foot to be here to just be in the video, and I don't know, I feel like putting what we got to do down is just kind of...insensitive, in some ways. But today has been the best day of my life, and I think it will be for a long time. After the boat was over a bunch of us went to the film set and watched the whole thing, and three of us, who stuck it out to the very end, met the whole band at 3AM. I have ridiculous stories to tell about how I came about meeting Chris and what we talked about, but I'll leave that til later. I can't even go into the emotions I'm feeling right now.
  8. Thrown for a loop by the no tweeting rule...something big is definitely happening. I feel bad for the people that can't follow the journey that way, but this sounds like it could be somethig so big that you'll get a share of it a bit later on too!
  9. I think it's kind of ridiculous too. But I feel like with this announcement, a whole new world of possibilities have been opened for the surprise, perhaps including something of a video nature. Chris probably wrote the note earlier today, when "now" was when they were shooting, but "now" could also be a loose term for "tomorrow." Or not :P. But seriously, my mind is exploding right now. I will never be able to sleep :wreck:.
  10. Pretty sure that is his writing, just when he tries to make it marginally neater. Compare it to the setlists from their Starfish days...very similar handwriting :P [/creepy Coldplay nerddom]
  11. MY MOM SUGGESTED THIS LAST WEEK, THAT THE BOAT WOULD BE A MUSIC VIDEO SHOOT. I laughed it off. Now I'm not so sure.
  12. OK. Odds that the surprise is something to do with this song? I had a hunch that this release would be the 2010 Christmas gift from them ever since the 60 Minutes interview. But now I feel like something might be up. "We're shooting the video now." My mom thought maybe they would shoot a video with us on the boat. I laughed it off. It's still a ridiculous idea, and I don't think that's what's going to happen. But...OMFG.
  13. OH MY GOD. I had a hunch this would be the 2010 Christmas gift!
  14. I'm thinking I may need to re-think footwear...I was caught out in the snow today with Converse sneakers on, and tomorrow I plan to wear ballet flats, and if the same thing (or rain) happens tomorrow night just in walking to the pier, I will not fare well. Would it be really weird and old-lady-ish to wear boots and then change shoes on the boat?
  15. Thanks! I just sent you a PM a few minutes too late :P. TOMORROW. EEE.
  16. I only have an iPod Touch, so I'd need wifi for that, and I doubt they have it on the boat
  17. Thanks! :D Yeah, I'd like confirmation from Ian on that one, but I feel like I've met so many of you already you're not going to turn me away...right? :P I guess I'm more worried we'd need something official looking to get on the boat...but there's honestly no way I can print it out now, so if we really do need it, I need help thinking of a plan B...
  18. Thanks, Anna! OK, someone said above about printing out confirmation emails...is that required? Because I don't have a printer and won't have access to one before the trip :uhoh:
  19. Thanks, but my railcard from last year is expired, so it didn't help me out this trip . I knew that was going to happen at some point though, it's my fault for not renewing it. The cost is worth it to me entirely: I worked all this summer expressly so I would be able to spend whatever it took on music-related things in 2011...but the end of 2010 counts too! :P I'm getting into London at 2 and will be going to my hotel to get ready, so I'm not sure if I'll make the 3:30 meetup at the Anchor Tap, but I might show up a bit late to that depending on what time I get to the area. Otherwise...see you all at the pier! :bomb: I made my nametag out of a Coldplay butterfly :wacky:
  20. I would like to express my extreme displeasure at the fact that last-minute, round-trip train tickets from Norwich to London cost fifty-five bloody pounds. That's a pound more than my hotel cost. TOTALLY WORTH IT, THOUGH . I'll be in London by 2PM, will get ready at my hotel, and I hope to get to the area early. It looks like a bit of a walk from any tube station, and it's going to be dark...and it's snowing pretty dang hard here in Norwich right now, so I figure this is also a possibility for tomorrow night in London :stunned:.
  21. I think since this is a private shindig there might be some leeway with departure time, at least a little. Like Mich said, let's just get REALLY chatty. I don't know if this will be possible, but if Debs and Miller and Phil and Matt are going to be boarding around the same time as us, I'm sure we can mention to them that we need to wait a few extra minutes for the guests of honor and they can give us a hand in trying to make that happen.
  22. IAN AND JEN WILL BE ON THAT BOAT BY HOOK OR BY CROOK  I feel terrible about everyone else that's had to drop out or who couldn't make it at all to begin with, but the two owners of this site MUST be there. It's just not a question.
  23. I can tweet too :wacky:. @acrossunvrs. And I can update Facebook, and I have a lot of Coldplayer friends that could pass on the news. Actually, lots of them will be at this thing, but you know :D AGREE WITH THE HELICOPTER COMMENT. Jen, you just have to be there. Plain and simple. So...this thing starts an hour earlier...meaning it's now six hours long :cheesy:. I wonder if that has anything to do with a surprise, or if they just mucked up the time by accident?
  24. I'm glad I didn't book my train yet...I wasn't going to cut it that fine, but changing the time at the last minute was kind of a surprise. I hope this doesn't mess anyone up too badly :\ NO NO NO NO NO :bigcry: Please let us know if we can help in any way...if it's Sammy that needs looking after, you know we'd all love to play with him too ;)
