  1. that's what i said :freak: :P that one's definitely my favorite, but $200 for a watch?! who am i?! you are now officially encouraging my american consumerism, BTW
  2. my graduating class was exactly twice that large (42!), and i thought we were small! small classes are the absolute best :wacky:
  3. ^i have a bit of an untraditional mom :P. she understands obsessions with bands, and she also understands that i hate uni .
  4. girls...i want a watch. one that's not a digital timex like i've had for years. i can't afford one now, but if it's under $100, i think i could get one by the end of the summer, job-willing. of course, watches are RIDICULOUSLY expensive. i found two coach ones that i love, but they're both too much for me to even consider: ($198) ($398). i'm having the most luck with fossil... ($65, but no second hand, and i don't think red would go with most things i wear) ($95, but same issue with the color. even though i love the color...i just don't think it would go with everything. and this one doesn't have any bling). ($95--it has everything i want, but white somehow intimidates me).
  5. people in the southern US eat squirrel. to my knowledge, it's a very hillbilly sort of thing to do.
  6. aww, i love the butterflies, christa! i have one in my wallet :wacky:
  7. ooh yes, dick clark, definitely know who he is! i'm just not optimistic about anything happening while coldplay's still on EMI. i'll bet that EMI controls way more than we think they do (i think they're the reason behind all of coldplay's bad/annoying business practices, certainly not the band or their direct management), and even if we did get something off the ground, i assume they would either prevent it from becoming official or take what we made away from us and hire "professionals" to work with our framework (by "take" i mean "buy," but that would break my heart, i think, selling off something i worked so hard on). this also costs an absurd amount of money. whiiiiich i don't have :P
  8. haha, i'd KILL to start one, liz, but i'm so young :P. i have experience with management and organization, but not with the financial or legal ends of things or anything to do with business...i'd have a lot to learn, though it is tempting to contact the guys that started the pearl jam fan club for some pointers . i know i'd have a great employee pool just from this site alone! :D if we/i ever do put something together and by some wild stroke of luck the bands' people become interested, i figure i'll turn up on their doorstep all enthusiastic with my big smile and they'll be like ":freak: YOU LOOK LIKE YOU'RE 12 YEARS OLD!" and i'll be like "i'm actually 20..." and then they'll slam the door in my face :P i don't know the technicalities of their contract, but there very well may be something in there about organizations, such as fan clubs, that EMI doesn't own. i'm sure they covered all bases when they signed them and said something like "we need a cut of the profit from anything you do," and that makes me nervous because therefore it might be EMI's decision whether or not to allow a fanclub rather than the band's and their direct management. i don't trust EMI :P
  9. i've been badgering people, both official and unofficial, for this for years! i've never gotten a reply, of course, but i bet people have seen me banging on about it in countless other threads :P coldplay NEEDS an official fan club. i'm not so familiar with the convention end of it all, but i do have some familiarity with official band fan clubs and all the benefits for both the fans and the band. the best, most functional fan clubs charge an initial joining fee and then an annual renewal charge which keeps the club in business, and i'm 100% positive that a coldplay club would have THOUSANDS of members. of course, the initial fee is usually high enough to deter just the casual fans and keeps the benefits for the people that would really use them, but i think most people on this site would be willing to pay $50 or so once and then $20 or so each year after that. to me, the main point of a fan club is for tickets, and in my experience, bands tend to set aside a certain number of tickets per show for fan club members only and sell them through their site before the rest of the tickets go onsale (and often, these tickets are in good locations for decent prices). and then there are the other possible benefits of being a member, such as exclusive newsletters or christmas presents or special merchandise. coldplay would make a killing if they had an official fan club, though i don't think anything is going to happen in that field until if and when they get off of EMI. my mom routinely tells me to drop out of uni and go start a fanclub good enough so that coldplay would want to buy it and make it official (she's actually only half-kidding :P). she's been a member of the pearl jam fan club for many years, and that's how their fan club started: two diehard fans in a home office. the band took notice and bought the rights for it (but kept the original guys running it ), and the rest is history. i'd KILL to do something like that...my mom claims she could even get me in touch with the two PJ guys  i say keep dreaming! :D but for the near future, i think the 100+ coldplayer meetup at wembley is as good as we're going to get.
  10. oy vey, can they just keep the name the same for 20 minutes!? i always just say meadows :P. same as i can't call the old civic center the XL center...it's the CIVIC center, dammit  :P
  11. why does everyone love winona, the shoplifiting, possible drug-using, vandalizing hollywood serial dater, yet hate gwyneth? i'll never understand all the gwyneth hate...95% of the time, i don't get a "holier-than-thou" vibe at all. i think gwyneth understands that she's privileged and has been incredibly lucky and is grateful for that, and that all this GOOP stuff is her just wanting to share what makes her happy. i think on occasion she should be a bit more careful about what she writes and how she says it (the master juice cleanse issue pissed me off), but i'm glad she doesn't seem to get too beaten down by the hate. being self-confident and wanting to share what you find exciting isn't being holier-than-thou.
  12. she's not british by upbringing, but i think she probably considers herself somewhat british :P. that's where her permanent residence is, she's married to a brit, and she has two children which she has said she weill raise british. she can also do the accent when required and seems to be "british at heart," so i wouldn't be surprised if she meant her and chris :P
  13. haha, winona would fit :P hmm, i wonder what couple that could be, gwyneth? (nah, it really could be anyone, but still...what are the odds she was asking about her and chris? :P)
  14. i agree with looooore  for some reason i love this thread and looking through what people carry with them--i think it tells a lot about a person.
  15. haha, i know. i pose the question to the general public :P
  16. i don't NEED another bag for the rest of my life. but bags are my weakness...especially ones made by coach :wideeyed:. otherwise, i just use casual sorts of canvas ones like this...but i have so many! anyone care to keep this thread going? :D it was one of my favorites.
  17. *major bump!* i just randomly thought of this thread since i'm procrastinating, and since i have a bag obsession, i think i'll bump so more people might be tempted to post. so, here's my current (non-school) bag that i use when i go out...which is like never when i'm at uni :P. basically, i go to target to buy groceries  1. big white bag (it's not memorial day yet so i'm not technically allowed to use white, but i just got it and i wanted to use it :wacky:). also, a pink paisley wallet/wristlet thing that i use on campus that holds my ID and cell phone. i just realized it's basically the same pattern as my bedding . it also has my room key (with a smiley face hamburger key guard!), my knife, and a mini sharpie on the keychain. 2. USB drive, wristlet holding lip gloss & lotion & tissues, gum, burt's bees chapstick. 3. ipod, pen, 2009 calendar (which i never use while at uni...it'll start filling up once i get out of here!), cell/mobile, butterfly notepad, home/car keys with too many keychains. thrilling, right? :dozey:. but i love looking at other peoples' bags, for some reason.
  18. i think the main reason i want chris and gwyneth to have another is so i can see what they name it  nah, but that would be so nice if they really want another :wacky:. gwyneth better get on it, though...not that she's old or anything like that, but the longer they wait the harder it will be. or they could adopt like she's mentioned before...i think that would be amazing, though they'd probably just be admonished for jumping on the celebrity adoption bandwagon :dozey:
  19. i just don't see the attraction in trying to walk in something that's painful :P. i don't know, i've just never seen the appeal, in design or functionality. now give me flat sandals or sneakers and i'm good :wideeyed:
  20. most heels all look the same to me :P. and they all look like mideval touture devices :wreck:
  21. i want children so badly it's ridiculous. like, right now. flip flops are the best! i don't understand how anyone can't love wearing them :P. they have such cute ones these days too...not ALL are made out of cheap rubber. and guys in flip-flops...what's wrong with that? i think you guys have a surpressed foot-phobia or something :P
  22. even though i have a pretty strong/large bladder as long as i don't drink excessively that day (TMI, i know, sorry ) i'm paranoid about bathroom availability in most situations :P. there's just something about knowing that i CAN'T go that makes me have to go!
  23. i like to pretend that i don't have any wedding plans, but i do have some. basically, i have an idea of what i want my dress to look like (i want it custom made, and it's so simple that i bet it'll be cheaper that way :P), and i know i want a very small wedding in a backyard or on a rooftop without any of the usual hokey-pokey. i just want a nice classy party with my friends, really, with little structure. i always supposed i would get a private city hall marriage with a party after, so i guess i just want the party to be a party and not a grand, stereotypical reception.
  24. how the hell can anyone walk in those? and if you can walk, then how can you not scream in pain after 20 minutes?
  25. ^jenn, i thought you refused to wear sandals! :P i love the second pair, though :D figures, the one pair i want is $20 :dozey:. $20 that I DON'T HAVE :bomb:. i found cute gold ones at target too, for $14.99. but i don't need them.
