haha, it's a bit of a long story how i got GA...i originally got the regular seats like i told you in the presale, but the next day i saw all the other coldplayers getting GA unexpectedly (i didn't even think there would be GA), i made an impulsive decision and now am going GA, leaving my mom and brother in the semi-crappy seats :P :uhoh:. it's going to be a logistical nightmare, but everything is in my life :P. all i know is that i couldn't pass up the chance to see coldplay up close again, and my mom said the decision was "up to me." so now i just have to get rid of an extra seated ticket :dozey:. [/off topic] yes, i swear chris is drawn to plaster. i wish i knew someone that could make a cast, so i could get one on that night with no previous injury and paint the viva logo on it :P

as much as i understand their desire for privacy i think they (or chris) is a bit too militant about it. it's been proven before that you can be a celebrity couple without letting the media invade your lives and being a brangelina or a tomkat and without being seen as working off of each others' successes. chris must understand that they're going to be majorly papped either way, and that not being seen together or speaking about one another only puts them in the media's bullseye MORE. of course, most of my reasons for wanting them to acknowledge each other more are selfish :disappointed:

the information on trademarks isn't as clearly presented or easy to understand :dozey:. however, it seems as though if it doesn't have that tiny little TM next to it, it's not trademarked and therefore you can't be sued for infringing the trademark. to me, that means chris's doodles are fair game (though the other design for the back, the one with the shilhouettes, is an actual photo, which is copyrighted, so i don't think that's a good idea to use). i think we should also stay away from using the word "COLDPLAY" in the official fonts (the old one or the new one) since that IS copyrighted, as is the "VIVA LA VIDA" paintsplatter thing on the album cover. however, i don't think this is enough of an issue to worry about too too much. chris's doodles were copyrighted the second he drew them, but that doesn't mean they're officially registered anywhere, and i don't think anyone would call us up on any of this anyway, unless we got really carried away, and from what we have, i don't think we're in much danger.

^they almost certainly got all the proper permissions to use the delacroix painting from the artist's estate, the louvre, and all the appropriate channels. there would have been a big stink by now if they hadn't, since that is a well-known image they obviously didn't create themselves. i don't think they'd wear the shirts on stage, period the end. i don't mean to be a wet blanket either, but it's just not realistic in a number of ways. i'm not saying it's impossible, but i don't think it's likely enough for it to be worth the effort. i think it might be nice to throw one on stage afterwards if we're sure there's no copyright issues so they can get a close look at what everyone in the front was wearing, but throwing things onstage isn't really a good idea. i went to the US copyright's office website and found this anything we use that we didn't create with our own computers or hands is protected. we're bound to violate this in some way, and thousands already have. i'm not that worried. all this is potentially pertinent as well i can't find a single thing about handwriting, if that makes anyone feel better. EDIT: after looking through the website's FAQ's, it seems that we're more concerned with violating trademarks, since those protect symbols and designs. i'll read up on that.

that's true, and i agree, a bit unfair. but i think i'd just be grateful to see them, since it's not that much of a big difference to see them with all the magic balls and ramps or not, at least to me. i'd rather see the guys performing (ok ok, with butterfly confetti :P) on an empty stage if that means seeing them, but to each their own :D

i like the map idea, but i'm still sore about there being an issue with the doodle faces :angry: :P. now that i've seen that, i won't like anything else as much, i think. based on the original plan, i was going to make a poll on monday/tuesday/wednesday of the coming week. after consult with jen, that might be able to be slightly tweaked, but i think if we could have an option with the world on the back done by then and if we could have a final decision from the head honchos regarding copyright mishaps, it would be lovely :D

i wonder about november and december for you guys too, since i think after TWO years they might be done for 2009, but i really think they're coming to you yet :D. they KNOW they left you guys out, since they mentioned it in an interview and they're being innundated with oracle questions and tweets and all that, so i bet they'll do what they did last time and make a super-special trip to latin america in the next year and a half :nice:.

aww, that last part is so nice :nice: i love how the media blows everything out of proportion, though :lol:. i swear i've heard that jay-z quote before as relayed to gwyneth, so i'm pretty sure this isn't new news, and it doesn't sound like she repeatedly goes to him for advice or anything :rolleyes:. however, for my own selfish purposes, i wish gwyneth and chris were a little more beyonce and jay-z...private and out of most of the harsh gossip, but willing to admit they're married and occasionally going out in public together :P
