The Blur Thread
So I finally got round to watch the Brits and I loved Blur's performance from start to end, Blur-wise. However, I do think Damon wasn't at his best when it came to singing but we all know he can do so much better (and will when the right time comes). It felt a bit like the old days (considering Alex's stories from their early days :laugh3:) but I feel like it was a response to the general sentiment in the hall - Adele fans booing (srsly, this woman has no class, diss me however you want), James (?) cutting her off like that - it really was awkward both for her and Blur (I felt sorry for both of them, actually), so no wonder Girls & Boys were a bit shabby.. No hard feelings on my part, though. :)

What does it mean? I suppose there's a figurative sense to it? Very interested but I'm not in the right country.

Sherlock (TV Series)
I'm mostly fine with dubbed cartoons because it really is the only way the children are going to watch it (unless the actors sound really dumb and in some cases they do). What I don't understand is dubbed shows for adults. Surely they can read so I don't see the point in dubbing major films or TV series. Maybe it's a culture thing - our market is so small we'd get sick of the same actors speaking over original actors pretty soon. And you know, it's easier to learn the language if the show is subtitled instead of dubbed. (Lol, I'm totally defending my (hopefully) future job as a subtitle maker :laugh3:) Not really... I'll have to watch it again and be extra attentive. Molly definitely has something to do with it, that's for sure.

Sherlock (TV Series)
It's region 2, just like the UK! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_region_code :) Doctor Who, Star Trek, the Hobbit... Anything else? That's a lot of projects separating us from season 3! :bomb:

Sherlock (TV Series)
Is season 2 going to be broadcast on 9 May? That might explain the long wait for the DVD but at the same time I think it's ridiculous you must wait that long when files can be converted in a matter of seconds and you know... the production is ridiculously fast and so is transport. So... I don't know what keeps BBCA from broadcasting the episodes sooner than May. See, that's a good incentive! I'm sure you'll do well anyway but it's worth doing extra great on the competition just so you can get the DVD. I doubt the DVD would ever get to Slovenia so I ordered it via the BBC Shop. It didn't even cost that much, considering it's new and lovely and whatnot. Oh and these DVDs are suitable for region 2 and 4, and as far as I know, all of Europe is region 2 (apart from Russia... I think :uhoh:). So it's a safe bet for Belgium, I suppose. And season 3 ugh. :bomb: I'm afraid we'll have to wait ridiculously long for it... again.

He does sound like Thom.... so maybe. Anyway, I like the song and I think it's time to explore more of SBTRKT stuff..

This one! http://www.bbcshop.com/drama+arts/sherlock-series-1+2-box-set-dvd/invt/bbcdvd3495/ It should work everywhere in Europe - I got a number of DVDs from the UK and they all work just fine.

Radiohead
Maybe because it wasn't released by EMI? I don't know, it's just a guess.

Radiohead
It takes a while to like them, I agree. And mind that there's nothing wrong with NOT liking some songs. I, for example, don't like the tribute to Harry Patch. The song is a lovely gesture but I don't like the way he sings it.

Radiohead
Um... I guess you can either listen to the songs more and get used to his voice... or not listen to the band at all. That performance of 15 Step is probably my favourite. Awwh. :dazzled:

University advice
Linguistics. :awesome: :awesome: :awesome: I can't give you any advice, though, because I don't know how good those universities are. But here are some questions I'd ask myself when deciding between the unis: Have you ever visited either of them? Do they have a student messageboard on their website where you could ask about the student life, modules etc.? Would living in London be too expensive to manage, despite the loan? What's the tuition fee vs. quality ratio? How many modules can you choose and how many are core modules?
