they just ended their tour here in the US on May 30th in NYC. I am pretty sure they are not recording yet. I know that they are doing a couple of festivals in Europe this fall. Maybe after some well deserved rest and the holidays. I would say first of the new year would be when they would start recording.

can you post the link? and you didn't explain what you meant by seeing something youtube. Did you see something about a new album or was it about the movie? If you are going to make a post like that you should be able to back up what you are stating..

promoting an album (can't promote something that isn't finished)? Naw.. promoting U23D yes.. they were in Cannes. And performed on the red carpet. They were supposed to have a press conference their for this promotion but were delayed. direct me to the link on u-tube (do you mean youtube?) about it.. I would like to see what you maybe referring to.

Last year before all the talk about their movie and the pop dvd release I thought for sure that they would release a new album this year (fall) and tour in 2008. Because last year they were in the studio working on stuff. And the buzz was pretty big at the time. But, duh! how soon I forget that they take their time on working their albums. And if you look back at their history.. they tour every 4 yrs so releasing the album fall 2008 and tour spring 2009 makes sense.

:D hey no need for sorry... You know we all would love the album to come out sooner than later. Trust me I would be all over that. But one is for sure, U2 are creatures of habit. And if something works for them then they stick with it. That is one thing you can count on. Then on top of that, they work at snails pace when it comes to making albums, perfectionists as they are..:pleased:

no way this is going to happen... U2 haven't released albums anytime in the year other than the fall. and then spring for the start of a tour. I think that this album won't be released till fall 2008. This year has the pop dvd release in september and the premiere of their movie U23D which comes out this fall around that time. So an album release with all this going on this year is unlikely.

as far as the vertigo tour being pushed and rescheduled that was for a very very important reason. So I would never fault them for that.. I assume you know why they did this..right?

well according to u2.com: 01.06.2007 Out Of Africa U2 are in Africa, writing songs with Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno. The band have set up a studio in Morocco’s medieval city of Fez where they have been writing and recording from morning till night for the past couple of weeks. ‘There’s no word on what the new material is for,' according to one of the team in Fez. ‘But they’re on a roll and the ideas are coming think and fast.’ The band met up with Eno and Lanois after flying down to North Africa from Cannes where 'U23D' was previewed earlier this month. It’s not the first time they have been in this ancient city. They visited in 1991 with director Stephane Sedanoui to shoot the video for Mysterious Ways. More news from Morocco on the way. sounds like album work to me!! woohoo!! :D

Went to the DC show on May 29th... WOWIE WOW WOW !!! what can I say? Words just fail me right now.. Other than that WAS FRIGGIN AMAZING SHOW!! OMG.. The crowd was so loud, yelling and screaming and singing their lungs out to every song. I have been to a few shows at the 930 club but I have to say that was the loudest ever. Got there at 1:15pm and was 4th in line and BAKED in the hot sun. Such nice people in line around us. Saw the boys a few times. When they came back from the radio show gig in annapolis. Richard was the first to wave to us in line. And Tim snuck in so fast I missed him. Tom came in quickly but as he was about to round the corner, I yelled out "Tom"! and he turned and looked. Their tour bus was right in front so we saw them come and go a few times. But trying not to be a raving lunatic fans we just watched them.. We were dead center front row, wow! Finally got to be center rail for once. I always manage to get either left or right but never center so boy was I thrilled that we got that spot. It was so worth all the waiting, baking and sweating in the hot sun all day. Loved it when Tom came to the barrier, right between me and my friend liza. He leaned in on us, grabbed my hand and I well, touched his chest and held onto his hip (OMG) and got plenty of Tom sweat on me.. It was wonderful! You could tell they were blown away by our screaming and loudness. That they just stopped a few times smiling..waiting for all us to stop.. Met them after the show.. Got autographs from all three for the tour book that I bought there.. I teased Tom and called him Tommy Cash. And he said "Oh I wish. The man is amazing.." Oh, and of course just my luck, my digital camera crapped out on me and the camera was saying my card was full when there wasn't anything on it I just about died. I was soo pissed! I had my motorola razr and took some pics with that and hopefully they came out.. Best possible spot on the rail and the camera took a dump... We exchanged emails with a couple of people so hopefully they will send them to us.. Well that's all I can remember right now..

well good luck with that! Being at a festival is brutal! I went to a couple recently in the last few years. I have been to Coachellla twice. And went to Virgin Festival last year in Baltimore. I haven't decided yet if I am going to Virgin Festival again this year. It's like 98 bucks for a one day ticket. And frankly there aren't as many good bands as last year. I only am interested in The Police, Smashing Pumpkins, Beastie Boys so not sure if its worth the money as opposed to last year when there were way more great bands playing. The Killers were there last year along with The Raconteurs, Gnarls Barkley, Wolfmother, RHCP and The Who just to name a few. Get a good zoom on ur camera if you can. I think i have a 10x optical zoom or something like that.

yes I was! :D On the rail right in front of Dave. Only a few feet from the stage. Being a diehard U2 Fan. I gotta have the rail and nothing else.;) Or as my fellow u2 nut and friend Julie says: "We are the rail 'ho's".:laugh3:

I am so excited! I am going to see them on 5/29 at the 930 Club in DC. Tiny place, only holds about 1,500 people. BTW... Does anyone have an extra ticket to the DC show that they would be willing to sell at face value? I have a dear friend who is dying to go but missed out on tix to this show..
