  2. Really? That would be awesome! I's love for them to come to Belgium and perform, but I don't think they'll ever do that
  3. I voted Viva La Vida-era since it's really the only one I looked forward to so much and I really liked the way we all were intrigued by it. + the artwork and all the singles look great.
  4. Plese do! they're great! And we really need more people who like them to keep this thread vibrant :p
  5. Now let's all try to save it again!
  6. I hope that my partner doesn't think I'm lazy or anything because I already did my review, but maybe he/she didn't see it. I'd like to know who my mixtape maker was ;)
  7. Hello! And my name is Evelien, like the French Eveline, but then in a Flemisch kind of way  I didn't expect you to answer immedtiately and you didn't have to answer at all, but I really like it that you did :P I'm so glad that you liked the tape. It was my first time and I really had a hard time making it. It's hard to put in the songs that represent you but that will apply for other people as well. That tape really represents my taste of music and it's just so nice to hear that someone else can relate to it too. Personally I dont think Absynthe Minded is such a great band, but I knew you'd like this song so that's why I put in on there. So that you'd like at least 1 song :P But it's a song I like too. And you don't HAVE to like track 11, I just took it for granted that someone wholike Coldplay would also like that song, but that's probably just something in my mind :laugh3: But I still think it's a great track and if you come to love it, it would be awesome . Don't hesitate to ask me titles of songs by artists you want to check out, or if you want a link to any of those albums. Promise me you will check out Justin Vernon's live stuff. Really, your life will be so much better after that. The whole atmosphere of those recordings, the emotions. Really, awesome stuff. I actually planned on going to Paris on that day, to see the concert too but ticket prices were way too high, and I still had to get there too, which also isn't cheap. But non the less: September 7th rules the school ya'll :D
  8. Haha, I'll be curious to know what you think
  9. Ok so ! I'll review my received mixtape too I guess. Already feel like I am late with this  First of all: my mixtape maker didn't delete all the data off the songs or didn't give any specific order of the songs. This was kind of dissapointing as the surprise element was completely ruined. I just dragged the song into my music player and hopefully it fell in the order you wanted it to. Because there was no given order, I'll make my own and already put the title names with so that me mixtape maker knows what songs I'm talking about. Song 1 (Beach Sequence - U2) Lovely almost instrumental song. It's like a dreamy and a down to earth song mixed together. Simple piano throughout, but still very lovely and soothing. Great song. Song 2 (White Lies - Paul Van Dyk) I'm really not the techno person. Did listen to it a few times, but it didn't really get to me. Song 3 (You And Me - Dave Matthews Band) Heard of this band before but never tried listening to them. More my style of music then the 2 before: this one was very rythmic, acoustic guitar, calm and nice voice. More upbeat chorus. Nice song. Song 4 (The Lady With The Spinning Head - U2) Unmistakeable U2. Didn't hear this one before though. But it's just a typical U2 song which means 'nice but nothing exceptional' for me. Song 5 (Rock 'n Roll Train - ACDC) I'm usually not an ACDC fan, but for some reason it didn't bother me this time. It actually fits this tape perfectly. A nice flow into some harder stuff, I still prefer the calmer stuff. You didn't convince me of their epicness :P Song 6 (Crash Into Me - Dave Matthews Band) I like this song better thant the other song of them on the tape. It's actually spot on my style of music. I can see myselistening to this song very often. Guitars, nice rythm, lyrics that aren't too melow, passionate singer. Greaat song ! Song 7 ( Ziggy Stardust - David Bowie) have to say that David Bowie has been a sranger to me music-wise. Untill now ! I know that this must be his most famous song, and I understand why. It'sn ot bad at all. Thank you for broadening my music-cultural knowledge. I can finally talk about David Bowie at parties now  Song 8 (Two Tickets To Paradise - Eddie Money) I absolutely looooove this kind of retro 80's music. Great guitar riffs and no-nonsense lyrics. This one is a keeper. Song 9 (Kaze Wo Atsumete - Happy End) Talking about nonsense, didn't understand a word he sang, but! Lovely dreamy music. Really like the song. I can see myself listening to it in the park or on the bus, not these dull lazy moments. Song 10 (Porcelain - Moby) Moby ! Such a classic, you can do no wrong with this song. soo nice and dreamy ! Song 11 (We Are All Made Of Stars) Already knew this song. Another great one by Moby, but not my favourite tough. Song 12 (For An Angel - Paul Van Dyk) Again, not my type of music. It'll be impossible to ever make me really like this, but I've heard worse. Song 13 (Smart Kid - Porcupine Tree) I love the soothing intro, then the quiet and calm guitar. Great ay to start a song, grabs your attention immediatly. I'd love for the song to go on so calm the entire time, but it sometimes explodes into some rougher music. But it fits the song perfectly. All in all: too bad that the song titles were still there. I think it influenced my listening behaviour a little, even if that is not intended. Also, I didn't really discover new bands by listening to this mixtape, but that's probably because there were quite a few artists represented twice on the tape. But musical-wise I can't really complain. A lot of classics on there some of which I never heard before or wouldn't try listening to them if it wasn't for the tape. Also, it was nice to hear all these different genres together. So thanks to my mixtape maker for broadening my music knowledge and taste!
  10. for those interested: here's the download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?ntg1yng1wyw

  12. tssk tssk tssk. You tried so damn hard not to make it die.... but you did !!! So the friend who Marie was talking about is going to make this one alive again. Moehahahahaha. Dance must be one of my all time favourite songs. Simple yet sofisticated, subtle, passionate,... It just represents my music taste so well. And it's just a great song overall.
  13. So! Looks my mixtape got reviewed and I'm very pleased with how it turned out :smug: going to feedback your comments and defending my choce in bold and italics within the quotes and i'll give an overview of artists, songs and albums in the end. It's not too long at all! I loved reading it whilst listening to my mixtape and you were right about most things. I think we have much in common about music (we also have the same day of birth btw! September 7 rules ! ) You were a though customer as I barely had something to base myself on (I stalked you a bit but I could only find your previous mixtape). But I'm really glad that you didn't totally dislike it and I really hope that's you'll listen to some to the songs from time to time, or that I made you discover at least 1 new artist/song. I'm sorry that I couldn't really give you varied music, I tried as much as I could but that mixtape just represents my musical taste and I couldn't give you what I don't have or love right? If you ever need new material of artists you can always pm me, I'll be happy to share. Thanks again :D
  14. Today I bought a school diary with the whatever it takes Coldplay artwork =)
  15. I finished my tape. Not sure about the order, but I think that it's relatively unimportant. If a song stands out, it stands out, no matter what songs surround it.
  16. Since I just find out how hard it is to make a mixtape without knowing the musical taste of the person ou're making it for (yes partner, I'm looking at you :veryangry2:), here's my last.fm too. I must say that it's been ages since I used it, but it's a start. http://www.last.fm/user/Novastar5
  17. well let me just say that the Brothers And Sisters 7" vinyl single, definately isn't worth more than the The Blue Room vinyl. I've been following ebay for quite a while to make a list of average selling prices and I can tell you that the average selling price of the B&S vinyl single is about 20€. The The Blue Room vinyl promo seems a tad overpriced to me aswell but I've only got 2 prices to base myself on which I think isn't representative.
  18. ^^ that
  19. I've been around here for a long time now and I never applied. I'm going to be part of the tradition now. Can you please sign me up?
  20. I've got more CD's than vinyl too, but I prefer Vinyl. It's so nostalgic. And it's the only way to really have the music in your hand. Rather than to just press the eject button twice, you take out the vinyl, blow the dust off, put the needle on the right place and than hear that warm cracking sound. Vinyl love forever people!
  21. I always like to have all the songs I like on a hard copy. It gives me a certain feeling I guess. And this may sound ridicoulus, but this way i'm guaranteed that I can pick them up from the attick and show them to my grandchildren one day. Computers evolve so fast that even an MP3 file will dissapear one day, who knows? And it's still kind of risky to me to just put every song that is dear to me on something high technological. If my computer would crash, at least I'd still have my favourite CD's and Vinyls with me.
  22. there is indeed no other way of obtaining it. Even then, you'd have a hard time finding one. It's a very rare item and i've only seen one pass on ebay once and even if it did surface, be ready to pay at least 150€ for it. But indeed: if you ever want to own one, check ebay weekly
  23. I really really don't like the earrings
  24. doritji replied to roche714's topic in Coldplay
Apart from the fact if it's real or fake (even though I think it's real) : I don't really like the song actually
