  1. 3 new songs have been played. Just tweeted from someone at the show: irzanraditya Irzan Raditya @ @F178956 3 new songs atm, almost all singles were played already except fix you, viva la vida. Thx!
  2. Speaking of Lady Gaga, she released the first single from her album that just dropped way back in early February, so a three/four month in advance single drop isn't unheard of.
  3. I'm with you, Locust. I've been trying to say they haven't been from the same song for awhile. There's like 89 divergent themes in the stuff they've teased us with so far. I'm thinking three or four songs, some sort of pre-album EP or single w/b-sides released in the next day or two that allows them multiple songs worth of new material which they can break out at festivals and which can preview the upcoming album later this summer, but no so many that they have to rush the release of the whole album right now.
  4. I'm totally buying into the multiple songs theory in regards to what they've been previewing. The whale noise, the star trek references, the walking man visuals, the "morse code," the random video sounds, the disparate lyrics, and the video visuals simply just don't all fit together into one song. There's just no way. That said, I'm not buying that they've already pegged what songs will be singles over the entire era of LP5, and that they're hinting to all of those right now. I don't think even Coldplay would be able to determine (aside from the lead single) which songs they'll use as singles until the album is released and everything receives some positive/negative critical reaction. Also, releasing three singles simultaneously seems weird and unnecessary. What I'm thinking is that these songs they've been giving hints to over the last few days are part of a three/four song EP and/or a single with a few b-sides that they put out imminently right as these festivals start, which kind of previews what the album will be like later in the summer. That way they'd have more than just one song worth of new material to play at festivals for the next several months, but they don't have to rush an entire album out in the next few days. Thoughts?
  5. Someone allegedly in the know posted on the Kanye West message boards that the album has been in the process of being mixed this past week. http://www.kanyetothe.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=1cf408e1970f4e6893e75237ea1dd68d&topic=2095.126 Let's hope something's released on Monday.
  6. They must've JUST allowed it to be downloaded because, on the east coast at least, the viva la vida link was up in top albums, then it was removed from top albums, and there's no background theme or release date posted on the page i'm looking at  BUT we have all the tracks!! except Yes, which is album-only...ironically defeating Chris' point of wanting to give fans two songs for the price of one...:\
  7. I'm at work in Washington D.C. listening along secretly at my desk and we just lost power for a few minutes. What did I miss???? Square One?
  8. Yay for Death And All his Friends! Steve and I have the same taste!! Although I would've guessed with Will about Chinese Sleep Chant...
  9. 1) Square One 2) Cemeteries of London 3) White Shadows 4) Fix You 5) Talk 6) X&Y 7) Yes 8) A Message 9) Viva La Vida 10) Violet Hill 11) Strawberry Swing 12) DAAHF 13) The Escapist There's no way that Low and THP beat VLV or VH, and DAHHF annihilates Twisted Logic. I might budge on 'A Message' v. CSC though. VLV: 7 X&Y: 6

Can somebody say "an audience hand-clapping along at every show"?? 'Cuz that's what's gonna happen for the whole last 2 mins...in a great way of course...:)
  11. Where is this Chalk Farm?? Did I hear wrong? Londoners???
  12. Hmm...so the interview is definately pre-recorded...
  13. Hey! They're playing Fools Gold now, the video from which the Violet Hill video/Chris and the guys got the idea of walking up over the crest of the hill. What a subliminal shout out to Coldplay! :laugh3:
  14. I need advice... I go to school in Philly, but am in DC for the summer. I would rather go to the DC show, but am going to the Philly one because I have to be up at school the weekend of the show anyway for something. Wachovia, in my opinion, is not as good as Verizon from a venue standpoint, and its right next to my building in DC so I'd rather go to Verizon. Should I stay with my lower bowl tickets for Wachovia and go opening night or go just down the road to the DC show, try and get better tickets and sell off my Philly ones/trade with some of you guys? Is opening night gonna be that sick with the signs and all that I shouldn't miss it?
  15. Does anyone else get the feeling that Lovers In Japan/Reign of Love (whether or not it's what we heard on Grey's the other day) is especially beloved by critics, and might be the most underrated track on the album? I think 42's gonna get a lot of press, obviously, because of its hype, COL will b/c cause it's so dark, VH and VLV cause they're the early singles, Strawberry because its got some "daring" African influence...but somehow I see LOJ/ROL sneaking in there and being one of my top, top tracks.
  16. Maxx, I'm in over in 108. I agree about the $95. I saw the '06 show at Wachovia, and I gotta say the venue wasn't the best. I think I paid about $20 less for those tix too. Oh well... I wonder if Chris will run around during In My Place like last time. When he stood on the box singing he was directly in front of me within arms length.
  17. Has anyone noticed the pre-sale option on Ticketmaster for the early dates (except Philly, which is conspicuously absent)? It says pre-sale starts Thursday...that doesn't give CP much time to email out pre-sales/passwords/notices/reminders et. al. And why isn't Philly listed on ticketmaster!!! That's my show, and it's the first one!!
  18. The question remains though, how did people get this before it was unlocked? Or is it unlocked and I'm just an idiot and didn't see it?
  19. Two things. First, anyone notice how Triple M (Melbourne)'s site yesterday was bulging with Coldplay content (at least 4 int. clips, their pic on the front page, promise of a vid interview) and now there's nothing at all to be found on there? Think this means their in the process of uploading the video int? Second, anyone notice that iTunes officially changed the name of the CP album to just Viva La Vida...strengthening possibilities of a b-sides release/double album entitled DAAHF? waaayyyy too much excitement going on recently...
  20. I've been thinking this ever since they posted the actual tracklisting last month, but the tracks-on-the-piano picture is interesting evidence to the contrary. Plus, look at the NME article. McMahon writes how Famous Old Painters and Glass of Water never made the album. As someone whose heard the album and was talking with the band, wouldn't he mention if FOP had been converted to VLV? Regardless, I doubt they'll formally announce it. (And I hope we hear FOP, if it's a different entity). Whatever, this is still like Christmas morning what with songs dropping from the sky and all...way better than the X&Y drop...
  21. Is it a pun? "Prospekt's March" hinting that either the month of March is going to be a big one for Prospekt and the band (i.e. the album may be released then) or progress on the album 'Prospekt' (if that is the title) is going to 'march forward??' So many possibilities.... They always seem to satisfy our curiosity with a statement that begs ten more new questions. come on guuyyysss!!!
