The Radiohead - In Rainbows Thread
http://www.lastfm.fr/music/ Funny how the songs appear in the order of the album tracklist : just like everyone begins to listen from the start, and then some gradually give up before the end.

So how much did you pay for In Rainbows?
For me, £40 turned into €57

Does Radiohead deserve the rave reviews?
I think it does. Anyway, I've found some not so good review in a French paper. Something saying it was in the same vein as HTTT, not very innovating. About innovation, I think ther is actually not much of it, but In Rainbows has definitely nothing to do with HTTT ! But, again, I think it does.

Radiohead
For albums I'd say : 1 - OK Computer 2 - Amnesiac 2 - Kid A 4 - In Rainbows 5 - Hail To The Thief 6 - The Bends 7 - Pablo Honey See both Kid A and Amnesiac are ranked 2nd, with Amnesiac a quantum above Kid A. This is nice, and yes, you should sing. With a voice, this could make a fine acoustic version, IMO.

The Radiohead - In Rainbows Thread
This is gonna be a long post. I'm at about 30 listenings on account, and still love it, but already my way of listening to it has changed. I'm quite happy about the album title, because i feel exactly this way : in rainbows. I think it's one of the most coloured albums I've ever heard. Each song has a different style, and even inside one song, you meet different things, like strings on a chillout background for Nude. Faust Arp is really interesting : i think it's Wolf At The Door's little sister in the way that the lyrics are quite said rather than sung. It almost sounds like rap : the way some parts of the text are enforced by a second voice (as for "dominoes", "balance", "ought to") makes me think very much of my favourite French Rapper MC Solaar, but with a music oh so much better ! Inside most of the songs there is something that reminds me of a past Radiohead song part, but in a different atmosphere : the rupture in the keyboard scape at 3:26 on 15 Step makes me thinf very much of Trans-Atlantic Drawl (amazing song) ; the Ondes on Bodysnatchers sound almost exaclty the same as on National Anthem ; drums on Weird Fishes/Arpeggi sound quite oldschool-back-in-the-nineties and remind me of Blow Out (even though it's a radically different song) ; and i have an overall feeling about Jigsaw that makes me recall the Trickster. I've written "www.inrainbows.com" on my classroom's blackboard, and massively try to promote the album in front almost everyone around me. I've sent the address to my father, who downloaded it for £5 and listened to it all day long. By the way, I'd like to say it's the first time i discover a long-awaited album since I've got the internet, and it's really great to share impressions with all of you.

So how much did you pay for In Rainbows?
£40. I actually bought the discbox. To Briggins, shipping is included in the £40 price. You pay no more than an Englishman. To David S. My money hasn't been taken away yet. I think they wait until the box gets sent, like amazon of sites like that.

Radiohead
Haha I'm glad you have a fine opinion about yourself : "Well two days after listening to it for the first time, I slightly improved the Videotape version on which Radiohead have worked for months." :P Well it sounds not bad, giving the song some more intimacy, but I think this effect is part of the song, put here willingly, so we should listen to the song in its complete form : it's a matter of respect. And I love the album version anyway.

[Discuss] Is Radiohead Killing Music?
People seem to forget the existence of leaked albums. Every new album is usually being downloaded unofficially FOR FREE by about, tens of thousands (?... don't know how many actually) of people before normal people even know it's gonna be released. Let's see it as just a leak, for which most people fay more than nothing. And let's stop defending recording labels who've been screwing both artists and consumers for half a century.

I realised today that the trip from my frontdoor to my school door takes exactly 42 minutes. :smug:  :D

Can't talk. Too much to say. Too good. Still, i'm gonna try. Holy shit it's fantastic. I love it from scratch to end. The versions of Nude, Arpeggi, Reckoner and All I need are terrific. Drums on videotape = great. The album is one of the most beautiful stereo experiences i've had since The Dark Side Of The Moon. Faust Arp and Jigsaw are sooo sweet. I'm gonna stop for now. I just finished listening to it, so I better let my brain calm down. ^ Reckoner is really great.

Radiohead
It's been four complete days since I've listened to no Radiohead stuff at all (following someone's idea I read here, I won't listen to Radiohead till next wednesday). Three days without them : it's harder than it seems.

Wow Gaïa is definitely gorgeous. I'm just trying to imagine how extraordinary their kids could be. Best wishes.

The Pink Floyd Thread
Since you know Thom Yorke and Radiohead, if you get the photo-collage book, you'll see how Radiohead-esque it is. Really.

Last Album that you bought/acquired?
Guess what I just pre-ordered : Radiohead - In Rainbows (2CD + 2 12" + extras discbox)

The Pink Floyd Thread
I don't know if you've heard about it but Piper was just re-released in a 40th deluxe/limited edition with both Mono ans Stereo versions, + bonuses. I strongly recommend anyone who doesn't have the album to buy it, it's a jewel, like Crazy Diamond.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
OK please excuse me. I was having a terribly bad day, which made me behave like a total asshole. I really want you to know that I'm usually a nice guy, and that I'm very very sorry. Hello RuledByADyingAtheist, and welcome on Coldplaying. What's your name ? *Sorry* :embarassed:

And so it comes to this...
^ two good reasons !

The Pink Floyd Thread
Yeah that doesn't surprise me very much about Pink Floyd fans, though e reunion would be very unlikely I guess. Fans are being hard with Coldplay : let them release another album at least. For the time they're spending to make it, it can't be bad.

Why the f**k are you posting so much setlists ? We can get them anytime by ourselves, you spammer.

And so it comes to this...
Well it was very tight between OKC and Amnesiac in my head, but if I had seen the results before voting, i would've voted for the latter. Amnesiac definitely doesn't deserve a 0 (same rate as Pablo Honey and HTTT...).
