  1. Yea, I was thinking the same thing! OMG - i've got over a thousand!!:laugh3: It's just natural jawing I guess:P.. (and when I first logged on I thought the post meter was broken!!)
  2. Indian Reservation is one cool tune though! I still hear it from time-to-time on the radio.. I have not heard Rebel Yell yet - my outdated machine is having trouble accepting the newer versions of players and such - I'll have to actually purchase a copy! (Indian Reservation)---Yea, it's from wayy back in the 60's rebellion days, but I think they're drawing some inspiration from back then.. Anyhow, it's reminiscent of that and some Tom Petty sounds on Johnny's Guitar part. Running Down a Dream? It's perhaps some other style, or from somewhere else, but that's what comes to mind. Good tune for the times!
  3. umm.. How ironic.. Here it's just the opposite basically. I gather the citizens just want change, but unfortunately, the change you get might not be the change you want or need. And then came the nightmares. I think you've got it, Bart. Funny, how everything else seems to slide, when a single issue becomes weighted so heavily.. What I cannot figure out is why wouldn't everyone disgusted with Blair's performance & Labor simply vote for the Liberal Democrats instead?? Are there that many new millionaires in Great Britain who find themselves feeling like Tories?? I dunno. another sway one way, but I'm sure the next election will bring things around.. Boris? Isn't that a Russian name??:stunned:
  4. Dr. Seuss?:hat:Symbolic logic. That's going back over three decades! Wow, how time flies.. Here's one: Operating on wavelengths mind's connect over land and sea one universe, many strands held together by gods rubber-bands.
  5. Bart, that's a bit cryptic, but I get the gist of it.;) I had really lost interest in music as well before Coldplay (well, outside of classical music, and some nature sounds and stuff).. Nothing else much really seemed to be reaching my senses at the time.. Although, I was surprised to find such a large following they have! When I met Chris, I thought to myself, "Gee, what a nice young lad - he must be in some new band, just getting good at their craft" - which, little did I know then, they had already had some very impressive songs out (but I was out of touch with music at the time, and telepathy is not all that effective, so how was I to know?) Anyhow, they did rekindle my interest in modern music. Some day I might run into them again - who knows?!
  6. Greetings Pilgrim!:indianbrave::elf: Keep the Mayflower going strong!!
  7. I think it sounds like.. Paul Revere and the Raiders - Indian Reservation
  8. ...Well, from what I've seen, there has been a problem within the music industry - there had been more support for new artists years back, to allow them to develop, etc. (Frontline ran a special on it - "the day the music died" I think the episode was called..) So, he's got a point kind-of. Except, Coldplay's giving away free music isn't really the problem - it's got more to do with the industry itself, as I recall.. Anyhow, fixing it might have something to do with musicians rebelling against the machine - if the industry has been taking musicians for granted, then it's time for a check and a balance.;)...
  9. I am feeling perplexed today. On the one hand, it all seems so simple. On the other hand, I live in a nation run by dunderheads. It could be worse, but it's rather unsettling..
  10. I'm thinking this: My country goes through phases every 30 years or so.. and a lot more!:\ Sheesh Bea, glad you're OK!!!
  11. Maybe this is just my imagination, but I know artists - they like to play tricks on everyone! But of course, some of these are 'tricks of the mind', so what is recorded as "official" lyrics really is close, but isn't spot-on usually.. So, what you hear, and what they say - trust your ears and your heart.. So, words are often merged, or lack clear definition on purpose - in the spirit of the medium, it keeps the mystery alive, and this adds to the music - a beautiful game for the mind to decipher.:) LOL!
  12. What's been troubling you??
  13. Is your computer's immune system working well? Occasional viruses should help boost the immune system - got good anti-viral ware??;)
  14. You are from France, no?? I thought France was the wine country?! Hmm.. learning something new every day here! But the best I can do is some American beers - Chicago Oatmeal Stockyard Stout, or Leinenkugel's Red Lager. The first is quite good - rich, creamy, smooth. The second is good also, but more along the lines of a Pilsner beer (Bohemian).
  15. Upon the land Lying asleep into the deep took the sand one hour to fill glasses half empty cups over-full brimming with confidence on a plateau of hardened steel sat the monk of St. Ibis for five-hundred grand pianos played on as the marching band stole past the strands on the ground five hundred and four with one-hundred sounds..
  16. Or French Wine ??
  17. Well in that case, how about serving up some German Lagers?:biker:
  18. What's the drink of the day, Chavi?;)
  19. Aha!!!:) Sounds good to me! I suppose Daryl is busy becoming Spanish, so this is his siesta time I gather?:laugh3:
  20. Gee, thanks Rick! Alright then, I'll just go back to my cave, and grab an oatmeal stout.. I'd offer one, but since the PUB is closed, I'll just have to drink alone!:bandana::P
  21. Is the PUB open, or do I need a reservation here?:elf::toff:
  22. Ladder down from the sun.. I'm not building a ladder to the sun, but just some of the rungs back down to Earth.:elf: Looking at our current quandry with energy and especially fuels for autos and homes, it's beginning to look a little ridiculous - what the current patterns are.. My neighbor ( a very nice fellow, but living in the past) is all upset over fuel prices. Driving a pickup with all the aerodynamics of a shoe box, and an engine big enough to power a tank, naturally he's upset when fuel goes over $3.60 US. I begin to wonder... Now, since engine exhaust components get really, really hot, that means there's a lot of energy going down the drain. Miller effect energy capture works well - should easily double engine efficiency. Aerodynamics are - the biggest, by far, energy loss in a moving vehicle under normal driving conditions. This is a cubic function. American autos have been going the other way on this one as well. Bigger, fatter, wider, boxier. Make that Sleeker, smoother, longer. Hmm.. room for another doubling of efficiency as well. Add some regenerative breaking, a little lighter unit, and better tires - should be able to increase mileage by 5X no trouble, without loosing anything! The reason I'm headed in this direction is in shifting from a resource-dependent economy to an efficiency and renewables economy, it will take this type of thinking to make renewables effective. When an auto can effectively get 120 miles/gallon (or, 51Km/L), true hybrids and bio-fueled vehicles become practical. Americans becoming practical? Well, like the Springsteen song, Pink Cadillac, if it costs too much to drive it, we can always park it out in back, and use it for parties!:laugh3: Once again, we're facing a fuel-shock like in the 70's; same thing, different era.. I'm leaning towards supercapacitors as a major energy storage device for true hybrids in the future - batteries require too much heavy metal - mining is risky, and the elements are too rare to run the global vehicle fleet.. Common elements make much more sense, provided we handle them properly. Carbon nanotubes are storage devices with amazing promise, all from abundant carbon. They look to hold a key, if we can put the investments in developing technologies like these.. One glance - web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2006/batteries-0208.html. (hope this like works!) -CK.
  23. Yea, there's something about white chocolate - it's really too sweet for me too.. Add to that caramel - sounds like a sugar OD!! But I feel fine! Gotta go catch some ZZZ'zz...:sleeping2::sleeping:
  24. In keeping with the beautiful revolutionary artwork, I thought this could be a lively topic! And heads will roll:P:laugh3:..
  25. :laugh3:So, there is a use for those stickers after all?!! And how fitting - keeping "our troops" going in circles forever... (or, maybe just another 100 years, whichever comes first..) Support our troops. keep them out of harm's way whenever possible..
