Labour suffers big council losses
Sounds like here back when Clinton and the Democrats held control in our Congress. Basically, the conservative could just sit back and criticize, throw spitballs, and trump up charges. And true here as well - forces generally beyond political control (although, in some ways had there been more common ground on the issues affecting fuel costs, housing gambling, and food costs, then these important issues would have been ameliorated to some extent..). So, what do people do when they feel a pinch? Blame the government, naturally! Vote for the other party! But of course, the blame game is ridiculous - funny how the same process is at work in you nation as well! And thus, the people vote against their own interests - and the liberal-democrats spend a lot of time jabbing at each-other (sounds familiar as well..) so they weaken themselves.. So, basically, is there any hope of improving how the voting public understands things? Here, all the important issues go generally undiscussed, as we defer to the politics of personal attacks.. Is there more substantive debate in you elections, or has it all been reduced to TV ads and cow-chip throwing contests like we have slumped to? Looking for a ray of hope..

This is the wartime broadcasting service
Yea David, I guess it's relative to location.. Missile silos are all pretty far from here, but the local shipyard has been building some "top-secret" ships, and I suppose that's a target regardless if it is of primary or secondary importance.. So, let's see.. I would find a couple of hot-dogs in the fridge', put them on some sturdy sticks, poke it above a cement wall where I could hunker down a bit.. POOF! They would be done in an instant!:laugh3: ( I might take hours to cook!) And given the current "leaderships" inclinations, I might have that opportunity yet! Hopefully, (as I cross my fingers), my nation's apocalyptic head-of-state will realize he might burn his pinky on the hot railing up to Airforce1, and that might be enough deterrent to stop any rash action.. but then again:dozey:..

Violet Hill Lyrics
Lyrics are like bird calls - never really quite what is really being said.. I don't wanna be a solider, who the captain of some sinking ship with (stowe/stole/stone), far below.. I hear stowe, but stone makes the most sense. Perhaps though, Harriet Beecher Stowe? Stowe Vermont? Bury me in honor when I'm dead & hit the ground. My love's opposed.. unfolds. The Race to Captain a Sinking Ship... about how the candidates are out-of-touch here.

What was the last thing in your mouth?
Well, yes, basically - same here Tracie. But I've often wondered about tequila - it had never agreed with me either, so I wasn't sure if this was just a side-effect to my own system or not. Now I know!;) Si!:sombrero: I'll stick to the Mexican foods then;)

Violet Hill - Another Anti-Bush song?
It's really not just an anti-Bush song, I think.. It's about the failings of those in power when the arrogance of "experts" takes precedent over careful reflective thinking. Carnival of idiots - when the press and the whole government, save for a few brave souls, are all working in lock-step and drumming on the war drums - well, lets just say a carnival has many attractions!

What was the last thing in your mouth?
Yea, I had whopituli once made with Tequila, and we were hung over after just one drink! (back during the school daze in the past this was..;)) What's with that stuff?? Were you in the Michigan mitten, or the hand?:) (& Tracie - you must be part Mexican then??)
